BREAKING INSURANCE NEWS!

I called Access America and they have added a Family Basic Plan that you do not have to be a memeber of AAA to book (the AAA rate was only $2 less). This plan has children free and has higher medical insurance rate limits than the DCL Access America plan. All children under 17 are free and not limited to one free per adult. They do not count the day of booking toward the 14 days to have pre-existing conditions not exluded and you can still book today.

Our rate was $203 ($99 each adult $5 process fee for $2500/person coverage) for Access America vs $294 for Travel Guard vs $600? DCL.

If you booked insurance thru DCL I would seriously consider this alternative, you do not have to book today to get kids free.

Hello all....although I have been a member of the disboards for years, I don't think I have ever really posted. I just thought I would check out to see if anything was starting for the may repo cruise and came across 300+ pages of posts! Needless to say, I haven't read them all, but wanted to say hi.

We are so excited for this cruise and I have been hoping I would get to do it since they first did the repo cruise a few years ago. I have only been on 1 other cruise...a 3 day disney cruise in october 2005. We are DVC members and tend to just stay at the world instead of cruising but I cannot wait for this cruise.

It will be myself, dh and dd's (9 and 6 at time of sailing). Hopefully I can get a chance to catch up on all the posts...but more likely I will just try and read what is getting posted from now on.

Kaylee

Welcome aboard!! I have a GD and GS the same age but they will only be cruising with us on the 12/29/07 NYE Magic cruise.

Been a lurker here for sometime and figured Id better post before Holly kicks me somewhere!:scared: Working nights makes it hard to catch up!
Glad to say we booked for the repo cruise! We too were worried about taking daughter out of school but figured the educational aspects will outway the worry plus darn it I want to go!!:yay:
This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and 3rd with Holly too!
Our "thieves" will consist of me Heather, DH Tom and our DD bethany who will be 9 at sailing .
Would love to join the bunco group!

Welcome aboard!! I have family in the UK so it is always great to see more Brits joining us!!

Do men have to wear a tux on formal night or can they just wear a dark suit? Dh hates to wear a tux, and in case we do decide to do formal nights, he would much rather wear a regular suit, but I wouldn´t want him to feel out of place.

Do all girls wear princess dresses? Because I definetly don´t feel that those costumes would be formal wear for girls, to me this is more what a little girl should wear in a formal ocasion: http://www.strasburgchildren.com/slsmdr.html but I don´t want dd to long for a princess dress if all the little girls are wearing them.

I love the dresses in your link. That is exactly the type of dresses my GD's wore on the cruise but in silky fabrics. If I can did it up, I will post a picture of what they wore on formal night.

No, you don't have to wear a tux. Until last cruise, I always wore a suit. I bought a tux now though, and enjoy wearing it to get a family picture like the one in my sig.

Sophia wears a nice dress that Amy finds for her. While she has a princess dress too, she finds it too "itchy" to wear for anything but pictures with a princess.

Yes, my dd (she will be 18 1/2 at time of cruise) is a Holly. She was an almost Christmas baby. We dont meet too many other Hollys.

Her teenage friends thought we named her after HOLLISTER the store. Ugh, could they be any smarter? :rotfl:

Our last name starts with an S, so she can be HollyS if that works?

I don't ever come across many Hollys either. I think I've only met 2 others in my whole life.

Everybody always asks me if I was born near Christmas. Nope....August. My mom wanted to name me Heidi, but that was my parents' cat's name, so in the hospital my dad came up with Holly because it was the only other H name they could think of at the time. Pathetic story! But who the heck would want to give their child the same name as their cat? :sad2:

What kind of store is Hollister? I haven't heard of that.

Aha! She tricked you! ;) Just kidding....but they're actually not British. They're American. threebritts doesn't refer to nationality at all. :cool2:

So this means that we can cancel DCL insurance and buy AA? Is there a specific website to do so? I have to read all the fine print, since most companies only cover Americans, some cover Canadians, and I think only 1 or 2 cover Mexicans. Access America through DCL is one of those that cover Mexicans.

Thanks.

Noel, I would love to see the picture, I hope you can find it.

Today is the last day for Travel Guard Insurance for kids free and no pre-existing conditions. You do only get one free child per adult. My quote for the 5 of us up to $2500 each was $294, I was surprised at how expensive it is. Procrastination does not pay, I missed the Access America no pre-e window, I think that plan will be significantly less expensive and since it will be may I am not as concerned about possible blizzard delays.

The travel guard policy is better than the access america one when it comes to air delays. You may not be worried about delays on your end, but there could always be a weather delay on the other end (I'll be struck by lightening for even suggesting that, I almost hesitated )

I find that the great pictures that they take on the ship are the best reason to dress up!

The picture in your signature is great, I guess that is when one can really apreciate the difference between the tux and a suit.
