Here is DH, GS and SIL on formal night:

tuxedojunction.jpg

Great picture!

All these posts of men wearing tuxes are making me want to sneak dh´s tux into the suitcases. Too bad I can´t take out the suit for Palo, or I would, lol.

Do men have to wear a tux on formal night or can they just wear a dark suit? Dh hates to wear a tux, and in case we do decide to do formal nights, he would much rather wear a regular suit, but I wouldn´t want him to feel out of place.

Do all girls wear princess dresses? Because I definetly don´t feel that those costumes would be formal wear for girls, to me this is more what a little girl should wear in a formal ocasion: http://www.strasburgchildren.com/slsmdr.html but I don´t want dd to long for a princess dress if all the little girls are wearing them.

On our mexico DCL cruise DH wore a tux but most men were not in tuxes...dark suits were the majority of what I saw.

That dress is beautiful! I don't recall about princess dresses. I know of the two girls in our group, one wore a dress like the one you linked above and the other wore a snow white dress.

birkner, your guys are adorable.

okay, subject change...who's your american idol pick?? I'll put mine in white so I don't spoil it for all you californians...Chris Singh(??) the big guy with the curly hair:love:   him!!

hope evryone had a great valentine's day, just another wednsday for me:sad1:

Am I the only one on the planet who has never seen any Survivor episodes or an American Idol episode????

yes, in fact I believe you are.:confused3 :lmao:

I'm not a huge AI fan, in fact I only get to watch it now that Lost got moved til 9.

hi, my name is Kari and I watch far far too much tv.:happytv: (which comes in handy when playing TVSceneIt, I kicked major booty at this game the other night)

I played movie SceneIt on Saturday, it was my big night out, lol. i do rather well with the alternate titles, lol.

We have never watched Survivor, however we do enjoy AI after it gets down to the final 12. We enjoy seeing the really talented people compete. We do not enjoy watching Simon humiliate the people at the try outs.

sadly, I watch both AI and survivor (although I missed the first episode). i know I really need to get a life.

I LOVE SceneIt, probably one of my favorite games. I have the Harry Potter edition, and the original movie edition. Every year I ask for the disney version for christmas (knowing full well that no one will play it with me)but evidently Santa feels I still haven't been good enough...

The travel guard policy is better than the access america one when it comes to air delays. You may not be worried about delays on your end, but there could always be a weather delay on the other end (I'll be struck by lightening for even suggesting that, I almost hesitated )

I know that has been posted and I hope that is true. I'll be interested to see what happens with the folks who missed their cruise this weekend. The thought is that for full cancellation for weather that TG is better, for one of the delay portions of the plans AA has a 6 hour requirement and TG 12 hours before a claim is eligible so it is not across the board. If they cost the same or close I'd pick TG. We're not 100% sure we're going, I guess an extra $100 was more than I wanted to gamble right now on the likelyhood that we'd be delayed long enough that we'd miss the cruise and could't rebook.

Now that the 14/15 day window is up a child per adult is no longer free on TG. It likely has a better bad weather delay cruise cancellation policy which may be worth the premium, we all have to decide. Probably it is the best option if switching from DCL cause it should still be a saving but not he most economical.

I still think that if you have DCL insurance you can get a policy with the same company for a lot less, if you don't want to jump to TG.

So this means that we can cancel DCL insurance and buy AA? Is there a specific website to do so? I have to read all the fine print, since most companies only cover Americans, some cover Canadians, and I think only 1 or 2 cover Mexicans. Access America through DCL is one of those that cover Mexicans.

Thanks.

For some reason I didn't think Canadians can get this policy but they are on the list of places to live. Don't know about those from MX. Maybe you can email them thru the site.

No one has talked about the $$$$ ... I am guessing we will end up with about 20 playing - but as many as sign up can play - so don't let that worry you!! - if we do $10, that would make the pot $200!! There are 4 cash prizes - Most Buncos, Most Wins, Most Losses and a random drawing to get your money back from those who do not win $$$ or baby bunco!!

I was thinking we should play Monday after Castaway Cay - first day at sea - what do you guys think? What time?
On the EB repo we had wine tasting at 2:00 on most days, so I would prefer around 3 or 3:30. Can't miss our wine tasting events as it helps us write off the trip!
We got about 10cm of snow last night with another 10cm to arrive during the day. Driving wasn't the greatest -- no snow day here unfortunately. Some parts of Ontario are expecting up to 70cm of snow so I'll take the 20cm. This is the most snow we've had all winter so can't really complain and I like the look of snow on the trees etc.

Yesterday I was looking around and found some sites that sell lanyards. We could have ship of thieves printed on them - they would have clips on the bottom to attach plastic holders to hold the KTTW cards. From what I've seen the cost varies depending on the number ordered but would probably be around $2-$3 each. Is anyone interested in this??

Fiona
We love Lanyards! I also like the idea about name tages too!
I spaced that we were doing this in the adult area...I'm a dork...scratch Mekayla from the bunco reservation request, it'll be just me and I think anytime we play would be great, as long as it doesn't interfere with eating and drinking...oh, wait a minute, we're eating and drinking while playing! Then it's all good!

Hey You! We live chatted last year around September! So glad to see you're on this cruise! We all are going to make the best friends next year! Whoo Hoo!

Hmmm... tuxes and dresses and :laundy: oh my. I do not want to do laundry on the ship (again - I have never NOT done laundry on the ship) but I can't even imagine packing for the two of us in under four bags for two weeks. Have ya'll heard about some of the airlines limiting your checked bags to one per person!?!?:scared1: I guess we're gonna' really go "all out" for the formal nights and such, huh? Mekayla and I always wear nice dresses on formal night, but I have only done the "beadded gown" thing once, and frankly it was a lot of stress and hassle worrying about "the gown" in transit. Is it wrong to not want to get all dolled up? Are the expectations higher since this is a longer (more :snooty: ) cruise? Am I being a dork?:sad2:
We love the formal and semi-formal nights. Great photo ops of us looking better than we usually do!

We also go to other formal events, so DH owns his own tux and I have a veritable plethora of dressy items.

DCL almost ruined my first cruise when they ran over our garment bag and my beaded jacket had most of the beading crushed! The wonderful crew at guest services tried their best to come up with an alternate outfit, but I was just devistated. Guest Services found someone in wardrobe that RE-BEADED my jacket for me right before formal night! They also sent numerous "we're so sorry" prezzies to our room and in our fish mail!!!

This will be the 7th cruise that I have worn my dresses, that I bought on super sale after Christmas, so I guess I have gotten my money's worth. We have been on 3 4 day cruises and I also wore the semi formal little black dress on those as well. Maybe it is that I missed prom (DrHug was in VietNam prom night and we were married so I could not go without him), but we like getting all cleaned up!

Ditto! Will be wearing some of the same again!

They made some crack on the radio this morning that if you were single today was just "another Wednesday" and I thought...Aw man, how sad. But it's true. I'm single and it's just another Wednesday. :confused3

It's a beautiful Oregon day here...rained all day.

They had this remark on House last night at the end of the show between Cameran and Chase, right before they discussed another "encounter" together... love the writing on that show!!

Sorry...ARBSBC in me coming out....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

ARBSBC = anal retentive blood sucking bean counter:teacher:

I resemble that remark!!

I don't ever come across many Hollys either. I think I've only met 2 others in my whole life.

Everybody always asks me if I was born near Christmas. Nope....August. My mom wanted to name me Heidi, but that was my parents' cat's name, so in the hospital my dad came up with Holly because it was the only other H name they could think of at the time. Pathetic story! But who the heck would want to give their child the same name as their cat? :sad2:

What kind of store is Hollister? I haven't heard of that.

Nope...there are many of us...and we tend to be OCD too....

which is probably why I am in charge of the roll call....:surfweb:

And glad we are that you are!! I suffer from AROCD as well, and I am darn proud of it!!

sadly, I watch both AI and survivor (although I missed the first episode). i know I really need to get a life.

I love both the HP version and the Disney version, but alas, I tend to do the best at both, so the family doesn't want to play with me anymore:mad: I tend to remember WAY too many bits of useless information!

Love the multi-posting thang'!

Think we will head to dinner and go see the new flick "Music and Lyrics" with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant.

dd and I went to see this film yesterday and loved it :) We're both huge fans of Drew Barrymore, and although Hugh Grant does tend to 'play himself' every time he's still very funny:) The references to the 80's were very very funny!

Here is our door sign from the last cruise

Laure, absolutley loved teh comment about red heads...my dd is a natural red head (although at present it's a different co,our every day!) and I'm going to pass that one on to her....;

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe in the bad weather over there. :grouphug:

What kind of store is Hollister? I haven't heard of that.

Hollister Rules our lives....TEENAGE GIRLS....which it would my guess you do not have since you do not know Hollister:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It is a "fake" California type surf shop.

To GRLZMOM: Since you know Bethany Beach.....in November they opened a Hollister outlet store in the Outlet Mall in Rehoboth Beach. Everyting is $19.99 or less. (at least that was the case in Nov and Dec). My middle daughter packed up all her best friends in my Yukon XL and we went to the beach house Dec 2nd weekend (her 13th birthday). They shopped all weekend and the Hollister and Abercombie and Fitch stores is where they spent most of their time.

Am I the only one on the planet who has never seen any Survivor episodes or an American Idol episode????

I do not watch TV.......but I love American Idol. It really is a great show. I let my kids watch it to......I do not let them watch much TV. You should give it a try.
