I posted on the main board, but does anyone know if there are added benefits to buying DVC onboard as compared to WDW?

No, but sometimes they have some deal where you can get a discount if referred by a member. Brack and Annette saved $15 a point by giving them our name. The referring member gets something too, BUT Oregon does not allow that  (I think it was $50 or something) so nothing for us. But we were very happy that they used our name to save quite a few bucks. Dennis did go to the DVC desk and explain that we cannot accept the reward per Oregon law (gotta love this state - we are moving as soon as we can retire!) but that he would really appreciate if they would give him the whole set of pins they had on that cruise. I think there were 4 of them they were handing out for wearing you hat, etc. They were very happy to give him the pins. :thumbsup2 So, if you decide to buy check into any specials they have going on and use either our name or John1's. I think Ohio would let him accept the thank you gift.

My TA booked this last week for me and there are already 221 pages to look through - whew! We're gonna' be chatting as bad as the Blabbermouths! Love the Blabbermouths, though!

I am Thea and My daughter's Mekayla and we'll be traveling with you! We got a CAT 11 GTY (stupid TA didn't believe me when I told him the CAT 12's would go quick- I was on a Carnival cruise last week and had to leave the booking up to him - if I were at home, I would have gotten up at 0300 and booked the CAT 12 myself HA!)

Anyways...we live in Eugene, Oregon and this will be our third Disney Magic cruise. We Double Dipped last September and our first cruise was after all four hurricanes in October 2004. Don't know what else to say...we got late seating (stupid travel agent) and we're super excited to be going! I have a whole year to try to figure out how to pay for this sucker. $3500.00 Yeaousa'! These cruises have gotten progressivly more expensive. Duh.

Hey everybody! What's going on?! I've had a major struggle to stay caught up here, even had to cheat by DISing at work, but now my son went to his dad's until Saturday, so I have nothing but time, and there are NO posts for me to read? You guys are slacking off! :rotfl2:

Welcome Thea and Mekayla!! You might check on changing your dining assignment now. Thanks to a tip here, our TA changed ours from late to early on Sunday.

Carolyn

Welcome aboard!! :flower3: Glad you will be joining us for this great adventure.

On page one you will find all the info on what is going on! Aunty Brat is doing a great job of keeping it up to date.

I have started a children's group, so the kids can get to know each other before the cruise. If you are interested you can send me a pm.

Now I feel like a stalker or something. We are in Saugus near where Copper Hill dead ends near bouquet canyon.

haha!

Wow trip out! I am near Rosedell Elementary. What a small world. Do you have kids going or is it just you and your DH.

I can't yet see my reservation on the DCL site(I booked with DU). Can everyone else? I keep getting the message about birthday not matching reservation number. I know we don't need it there yet, but I would like to see it!! Tried John'd birthdate too, but no good. I wondered if it was just taking a long time to enter everything.

My DU reservation is showing up. Are you using the reservation number that shows in DU when you pull up you DU reservation? You may be using the right number but just to be sure, the DCL reservation number is not the 6 digit number that DU uses. It's a much longer number usually starting with a 2.

that's great!! I only hope they are selling AKL by then, I think that is the only way I could convince John....I am still not sure of the overall value for us, but I think as the girls get older a more "condo" type room would benefit us all.

Wow that is really wierd for two people that are going on the same cruise to be within a mile of eachother and meet here. That just tells you what a small world it is after all.

That is pretty wild...what are the chances?! Carolyn (clynne) and I live in neighboring towns and they're not super popular CA towns so I was pretty thrilled....at least there will be one family on the cruise that we don't have to explain where in the world Murrieta is or explain, yes I said Murrieta, CA not Marietta, GA. :rotfl:

I just got the advertising materials in the mail on Feb 2nd for AKL. It went on sale Feb 1st. I'll go home and read the advertising materials to see if it is open to everyone yet or if the special pre-sale is for current members only.

Also, on the last cruise they gave a great deal, and they might have a better deal on board if they are trying to finish out selling Saratoga Springs since AKL is opening Phase I this fall. I would wait until you get on the ship because you can always compare what they are offering once you are on board. (That is unless you are in a hurry before May 2008 to buy in before points go up in price again!)

That's a good idea. I am not super freaked out about late dining, but I defiately would have picked early seating if I were booking myself. On the Glory (the ship we were on last week) we had early dining and the dinner show was an hour to an hour and a half after dinner....that was a long time to wait after dinner with not much to do to see the show. I like the idea of going to the show before dinner, so we might keep the late seating. Mekayla can not wait to get back to the kid's club on the Magic. She sorely missed fun kid activities this past cruise. She says "Mickey does it better!":cool1:

Welcome to the disboards Jerseygirl!

So where in Jersey do you live? (I am assuming here). Some of my best cruise buddie friends Georgie and Joe we met on a Disney Cruise and now we are real good friends. They live in Jersey also!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

Hi! We live in Howell, NJ in the central part of the state. Thanks! We learn something new everytime we cruise with Disney. I know I'll think of something to ask. :)

:hourglass counting down the days til I'm relaxing in the Cove Cafe!

Anyways...we live in Eugene, Oregon

We love Eugene! Would move back in a hearbeat if jobs would allow.

GO DUCKS!!

Welcome Thea and Mekayla!

Does anyone know if I need to keep calling DCL to change my dining time? I was told on the 31st that I was waitlisted for early dining. But today when I checked the website you could book new res. with early dining.
