1.9, it was -4.7 when I let the dogs out this morning and three new inches of snow. It took awhile for winter to set in here but when it did...wow! It hasn't been this cold in years. Come on hubby, time for you to retire too so that we can move south for the winter.

I was out shoveling snow yesterday, while DH was still traveling home from Miami. We're Iowa natives and moved back here 10 years ago after having lived in Florida and Georgia. I think this is the coldest winter we've had since we moved back. I can hardly stand it. Four weeks from today, we are headed to Hawaii, so that is keeping me sane for now.

anybody else sick? I just got sent home for work and I feel like death warmed over.....why would anyone warm death anyway? and who says warmed over about anything?

anyone have any surefire remedies? at this point I'll take anything, as long as it involvs a nap!

Sorry you're feeling ill. I had to pick up DS6 from school yesterday morning and he has done practically nothing but sleep since then. He's upstairs napping right now. Seems to be just a cold/respiratory thing, but it has completely wiped him out. Try to get some rest.

Definitely. I must say, I am glad the season is almost over. DD12 uses swim team as her Independent Study PE in middle school. After JO Max she will still be swimming during the week, but not having to lose a weekend a month for a meet will be nice. DD11 has just started competing at meets. She only does 1-2 events a day. We want it to stay "fun" and not be too competitive.

does anyone else watch House? that is one of the best shows right now! hugh laurie is a hottie and i cannot see anyone else in that role...

I love the show, but I've only caught the occasional episode. When is it on? I can't ever seem to remember to tune it at the right time.

Thank you Tony so much for sharing your travel diary of the crossing. That was really wonderful to read. I'll be one of those early ones up on Deck 10 for transit day. DH will be all over the place taking pictures & video.

I love the book exchange at Cove Cafe idea. I love to read (but rarely have the time during my regular life), so having a ready supply of new books is great.

Hey, we have 2608 for this cruise!

We were on the other side for the 11 day SC in 2106 and really liked being close to the laundry (for ironing purposes)!

2108 was initially available while booking but by the time I finished booking it was gone. 2608 is just fine, at least we are on the boat.

Hehehe-- sounds like you're right next to My DBro and FSIL (#2609)!

I can't yet see my reservation on the DCL site(I booked with DU). Can everyone else? I keep getting the message about birthday not matching reservation number. I know we don't need it there yet, but I would like to see it!! Tried John'd birthdate too, but no good. I wondered if it was just taking a long time to enter everything.

This has happened to be before. Call DCL and ask a rep to help you. They can figure out what is wrong....birthday wrong (that is what was wrong with mine) or whatever and then they will fix it and you can see it after about 2 hours.

I am was greatful to get up and only find a few pages to catch up on.

My DH (Mike) and I have officially lost our minds!! We have decided we can't wait until May 2008 for our next cruise. So we have booked a quick get away on the Wonder (4 days)this weekend!!!!! I am so excited!! We told the kids this morning, there was lots of cheering! One in tears, because she will be alone in group! Her wonderful big sister (13) tried to make it all better by offering to do tons of things with her; movies, swimming, ice cream! Then we sent them off school to share their excitement.

You have to tell me how you book a quick getaway when you have to fly to florida... do you take a red eye?

the snake pics made me laugh....think deb will do that again? i had that same expression the first time my husband let a baby rat crawl on me at the pet store while trying to convince me to buy one!!
