Ok, insomnia strikes as it's 5am on the west coast...so I was bored last night and decided to count our group....

I am almost as bad as you. I have not unpacked from my Wonder cruise last month. Those clothes are all summer clothes and it is 12 degrees here right now!!

We bring our hendhelds. Although, last time, I was threatening to bring one of my big HF rigs, and run an antenna off of our balcony.

You don't need a license to listen - so long as you have the right radio and know the frequencies, that's all you need.

I just passed my Extra license (highest ham class). With them eliminating the Morse Code requirement, I think a lot more people will be exploring the hobby.

I'll tell him. He's funny...very excited that on 2/23 his license will get automatically upgraded to Technician's Plus. No Morse code!

Did you have to get the captain's permission to even listen?

I don't think there will ever be another "Pin Sleepover". After the WB repo, they had forms in everyone's stateroom to turn in if you wanted to purchase pins.

Thanks Goodness because I was thinking how much I'd like to have a pin but...not that much. It seemed like chaos, which is surprising for Disney.

i LOVE american idol...although i am getting tired of all the bad auditions...my husband nearly peed his pants last week when "panther man" was stripping and growling for the judges!

That was hysterical. DH response was "what the heck is he doing, what an idiot"....we couldn't stop laughing.

My favorite from last night was Baylie Brown...great name, pretty, nice voice and the judges really dug her!

and Holly I pictured those DISignated walkers using walkers (little old lady walkers) to herd us to our rooms.... do you follow me (or lead) which one of us had more?

Me, too!!! But, I don't think I'll have room to pack a walker...probably just ship it ahead.

Small World! My girls are on RSD! It was a good meet. Both kids got new PR's. Escondido was brutal! The kids were ok since the pool water was warm (too warm actually for the longer events), but it was definitely wicked cold! Will you be going to JO? We weren't planning on it (my kids just aren't that fast), but found out yesterday DD12 is on the JO relay team. Glad DS's fever is gone. Hope the ickies go away soon too.

No, no JO for us. DS just isn't that fast (don't tell him!) and DD has yet to go to a meet (she's 5). I want a meet with 25s for her first, so it'll all be about fun.

Next one we plan on, I'll PM you to see if you're going, too. A DISswimmeet!

Nope - don't have to have permission to listen. If he plans on transmitting at all, he does need permission. We've gotten it every time we've sailed (although with a bit of difficulty on the 11-night).

If he wants to be able to tranmit, as we get closer, we can coordinate, and put the request for all of us in together.

I am was greatful to get up and only find a few pages to catch up on.

My DH (Mike) and I have officially lost our minds!! We have decided we can't wait until May 2008 for our next cruise. So we have booked a quick get away on the Wonder (4 days)this weekend!!!!! I am so excited!! We told the kids this morning, there was lots of cheering! One in tears, because she will be alone in group! Her wonderful big sister (13) tried to make it all better by offering to do tons of things with her; movies, swimming, ice cream! Then we sent them off school to share their excitement.

Oh, how fun!!!! I can't wait for you!!

Trying to get caught up here while at work (again). Hey, where are the other Michigan people? I forgot already! Dawn in Kalamazoo.....or is she on my other meet thread for this Nov.? I'm having a hard time keeping my cruise meets straight! This one is WAY more fun though! Us Michiganders need to have a few mini-meets too!

How far will those handheld radios transmit?? I was just thinking how fun it would be to talk to his HAM radio buddies back home. (They had a man doing research in Antarctica visit before, during and after his trip. He really made an impression on them!)
