I am sailing on both East and West. (Taking older kids West and younger kids East) I tried to get on the EB board and I have given up. They are just too crazy!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

A few friends of mine are on the EB with you (and I believe the MED EB also); Hannomom and Faireygod Mother and GrayFal. All great ladies and a lot of fun. I don't think they post a lot of the EB Panama for the same reasons as you...but look for them on the boards. We cruised together on the Nov. double-dip and will be doing a 'surf n turf' (land/sea) this December.

Edited to add: oh yeah, and Hannomom and Faireygod Mother are in Virginia too!

It seems as if there are two mornings, or rather, evenings, where people sleep out. I understand the canal thing, since me and DH will be in an inside stateroom and won't be able to see anything, but what was the picture with everybody sleeping outside the store? Don't they give enough pins for everyone? Please enlighten me to both things.

Thanks!

I have now become obsessed with this board and I have a feeling it will be like this even after the cruise when we all share stories!!

I don't think there will ever be another "Pin Sleepover". After the WB repo, they had forms in everyone's stateroom to turn in if you wanted to purchase pins.

Good morning everyone! I'm very interested in the sleepover before the Panama Canal. Just how many people actually did it? If you got up at 5pm, would you get a good spot? If I spent the night with one son, could I "save a spot" for my family if they got up say at 6am? Or is that a big "no-no"? The thought of all six of us (with the little one!) sleeping out for a night scares me!! (and probably should scare you if you are sleeping next to us!).

Does anyone know how many formal days/semi-formal? I want to start to plan my boys outfits!
Lisa

I thought I had read about somebody going on both the EB and WB, but then I couldn't find the post again. (Is it just me, or is anybody else completely frustrated with the search function?). That sounds so cool. :woohoo:

Thanks AUNTYBRAT - for the updates, very great idea. I only had to wade through about 7 pages today - but it's a great idea for those days that I don't have that much time and the days when you chatty folks get all geared up!

APHOENIX - thanks for the excerpt of your diary of the Canal passing. I really enjoyed it and would loved to have read more. I realize it's your personal diary, so thanks so much for sharing what you did.

83 degrees here yesterday and what a beautiful day! Had the day off from work and spend the afternoon with Woody and his lovely wife. :yay: I'll let him tell you what we did if he wants to share...

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all!

I am hoping on this cruise that DH and I will be able to hit Cove Cafe as well as the adult pool and hot tubs! Both girls will be able to use the clubs!! Whoo hoo!!

If you have a stateroom with a balcony, would that be good to watch from or is there something special seeing it from the front of the ship?

Just wanted to say good morning to everyone! I wish I was in FL, it was 1.9 out this morning when I got up. I think it's time to move south!

Has anyone else started shopping yet?

V- we start watching it a little later in the season. We don't like how mean they are to some of the obviously "challenged" people during the first tryouts, but really enjoy when they get it down to the final 12 who are usually quite talented.

I have a hard time watching the try-outs, too! My DD really wanted to see it from the beginning this season, so while she watches, I read DIS boards (I wish I only read here for a few hours a week!) She told me last night that she has started hiding her eyes when there is obviously going to be a smack-down. :)

Since I am talking to myself this morning.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Fairfax Co VA closed schools today. We had about 3 inches of snow overnight. I think the problem is ice. As the roads melt, it is so cold here (12 degrees) they just re-freeze and it is very slippery.

Washington DC has never been known for its residents ability to drive in the snow....residents come and go here all the time.

My dd11 is just moaning that we didn't get anything down here near Richmond! She loves the snow and loves snowdays even more! We moved here from Vermont three years ago and thought that we really knew how to drive in snow, but we were quickly relieved of that idea when we tried to drive on ice! Cold and snow are one thing, but thaw/ice/thaw/ice/thaw/ice is completely different! Stay safe!

Thank you very much :flower3: to all of you making sites, reservations, fun meets, and summaries happen! All your efforts are really appreciated; even the planning of a vacation is fun because of all of you!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I thought there were a couple good ones last night. Tonight it is supposed to be showing the ones who did make that we did not get to see yet.

I think you really want to be out at the top and as close to the front for entering the first locks to get the full effect of everything. After that, it gets hot in the sun and guests started coming and going all day all around the ship. We had a friend who had a balcony on the AFT with the wraparound since it was the handicapped room. She had been emailing with one of the pilots from the PC for a year or so prior to the cruise and he requested to be one that was onboard for the WB crossing. He only had to work during the time in the locks, so we were able to spend time with him on her balcony and learn all about the locks, etc., etc. We had a great day with him. I hope he gets to be on the ship again.

For the rest of the day most people wandered around, when we were on the lake people went to their staterooms, ate breakfast, etc. DCL handed out champagne. Our friends were in their stateroom for the second set of locks and actually threw out Mickey Shampoo and soaps to the workers on the canal and they loved it.

For the last locks, the upper decks were jammed packed again.

Then it was about time to get ready for dinner!

Can you pre-book more than 10 hours of Flounder's since it is a longer cruise?

lillygator....

i LOVE american idol...although i am getting tired of all the bad auditions...my husband nearly peed his pants last week when "panther man" was stripping and growling for the judges!

also....lbgraves posted apic on the august repo of your daughter with other kids...you little one was wearing dsiney style pants with words on lone leg and ruffles on the bottome....where did you get those?

I did do some "live" trip reports while on the first PC cruise. If you are interested, you can find them at:

http://allearsnet.com/cruise/dcl_repo1.htm

These reports are from week 2, but you can click the link at the top for week 1 reports.

I guess I should go back and read them since I can't remember what I wrote. And I must say, I am NOT a writer. Don't expect anything as awesome as what Tony wrote in his journal. It just won't happen.

okay I am so lost! I am trying to keep up but I cannot do it. I think I saw something about brunch and a scrapbooking group could someone please tell me about them? And is it too late to sign up? Thanks

I sure hope we can! I forget what they let us book on the 11 nt but they were empty so we had our pick of times for the whole cruise. I think this cruise might be the same way.

Actually, they say the girls names on them....I had them made!!

I am was greatful to get up and only find a few pages to catch up on. ;)

My DH (Mike) and I have officially lost our minds!! We have decided we can't wait until May 2008 for our next cruise. So we have booked a quick get away on the Wonder (4 days)this weekend!!!!! I am so excited!! We told the kids this morning, there was lots of cheering! One in tears, because she will be alone in group! Her wonderful big sister (13) tried to make it all better by offering to do tons of things with her; movies, swimming, ice cream! Then we sent them off school to share their excitement.:dance3:

DH wants to try and book the May 2007 Med repo cruise while on board. I hope they have a great rebooking deal going on!

If you are on the Feb. 11th sailing on the Wonder, rumor has it that Don "Ducky" Williams did a Valentine litho for this cruise. Don't know if he is going to be on board or not, but if he is and you haven't ever seen him, make sure you go to his seminar and hear his Disney story. It is incredible.

And, of course, if you get a litho or 2 and want someone to take one off your hands, I'd be happy to oblige.
