Hi I just thought I would mention we used to live in Fairfax. We went to Saint Georges UMC.

That is neat!! Where in Fairfax? We live right on Rt 29 in Centreville. My DH is a minister at Centreville Presbyterian!! Leaving for small group in about 5 minutes!!

Here's the company most of the DIS groups have used:

http://www.reminderband.com/

They do orders in increments of 20, have three sizes. The bands in green (lime-ish) with glow in the dark letter fill are about $2.00 each.

I was one of the lucky one's to have cruised with Jackie & Carolyn in November and the bands that Jackie put together for us were great, I think there is a picture of them on the 11/11/06 Double Dip thread.

We lived off Roberts Road, in a development called Hickory Farms. Our daughters went to Green Acres elementary school. :)

I went to the $300 store this weekend. I spent $376.32! But that included my $100 annual membership fee and $36.73 worth of gas for my car. So I really only spent $239.59...what a bargin I got!!:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Neat!! I was bought up in MD. I lived in Potomac and went to Woodward HS in Montgomery County. The school is now a Middle school.

I thought Roberts Road was Burke?? Not far at all from where I am. I think we are the only two from this part of the county. Where do you live in MD?

Went looking for a pic of our wrist bands (I know I TOOK some)...couldn't find it, but did find a picture from another DIS cruise. These are neon green with glow in the dark fill in the letters.

HOWEVER!!! I LOVE the DISNEY FONT that one of those other sites offers. :thumbsup2 Couldn't find that they offered glow in the dark fill, but a pirate skull with the Disney font would be great, I'm thinking.

You cruised with Sue Ellen from Dreams...we were on the ship the week before you!! Did you get to meet her? She is a DIS moderator!! I love her!!

SueEllen and I cruised on the Wonder in Jan together with our kids and no DH's!!

There is a stretch of Roberts between Little River Turnpike and Braddock.

We live west of Baltimore in a little burg called Eldersburg.

Monica, were you planning on order these this soon???? I'm betting next February we'll have a bunch more people show up here that aren't even posting yet.

OK....dinner break over....gotta go back to work. I'll be checking back later tonight!

Yep! She and her hubby were celebrating their anniversary on the double-dip. Very nice people!

Kathe,

What did you have and what did you pair it with?

Karen, owns a wine shop and wife of been2marceline!

Hi Karen,
Oh...I'd love to own a wine shop:goodvibes I usually prefer a Shiraz or Merlot, but decided I wanted to try some new selections. So I went with Mango del Bruja from Spain(blend of 5) , Mas Janeil from France(Grenache,Carignan&Syrah) and Jekel (a cab) from California. I had some Fococcia (sp?) bread and rice crackers, antipasto and a few different cheeses. I had fun but none of these selections "wowed" me. I still favour Aussie or Chilean or South African wines :thumbsup2 Which wines do you find you sell the most of?

Limos, bracelets, DOD, leis just to name a few.

Noel

Ok - thanks everyone for the other recommendations for diff bracelet websites....I really like the one thru 24hourwristbands---we can even get the Disney Font!!!!! Can also do the skull/crossbones.
Will check out the other websites too and let you know what else I find.

I might be late, but I am wearing one right now from www.zimmy.com - don't know a thing about the company but the wrist band is big enough to be comfortable and it's in four colors (Medicine Wheel) with "indented" engraving. Looks cool.

You got off easy I hate (read love) the $300.00 store! I try to keep it down to twice a month though...I never get out of there under $200.00 - EVER.

That´s great! I highlighted our choices, but in the end will go with the majority.

Ditto - here, I liked what Julie highlighted....

Ahhh...thanks for the clarification. Think it's me, though. I was trying to SpeedDIS before jumping in the shower (TMI, I know)

:rotfl: I lke that...speedDIS, I do the same thing, just didn't have a name for it! That's great!!!

At this point, I think there are 56 people interested in either the limo or the bus. So, even if the 50 seater was available, it would be too small! Calmom (Lisa) did anyone else PM you????

I know that Happy limo only has 2 hummer's in it's fleet. They do have the 28 seater bus that PJ posted and then they have a excursion limo as well. The bus that is available is 40 person, is that right? and that wouldn't need an extra luggage vehicle.

The Hummer was about 21.00 pp plus tip and the bus was 48.00 pp plus tip (is that right Noel?)

So, without making this too confusing or taking up too many posts....we need to figure out what we want to do. My biggest concern with just doing the bus would be that not everyone is ready to leave at the same time(not to mention there are too many people). I think we are better off doing a few vehicles to handle those arriving that am. I think we would all love to leave at 9am from MCO but I am not sure everyone will be there by then.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? :upsidedow

I'm up for the Hummer, my kids would be besides themselves with a Hummer, so I'd prefer to stick with that, but ultimately will do whatever is decided. I appreciate the effort Kaylee, so I won't complain about the end result. Tell me where to be and how much to pay and we'll be there! :thumbsup2

Kaylee...no real suggestions for you, though maybe you could see how many were really hoping on Hummerzine and go from there. I would be up for any group trip, BUT I'm telling you the mommy points are higher for the Hummerzine I think...:)

EXACTLY!!!

They have 2 sizes Adult and Youth. Looks like it would end up being $1.75 per adult size (if I order btwn 100 and 199-at this point 69 have been requested), and $2.20 per youth (if I order btwn 30 and 49-at this point 15 have been requested). Not sure what you guys would be willing to pay up to...and this is before shipping to you guys.
They do---I meant for me to ship them out if that's what we decide on :)
Maybe they could be handed out the first day we are on board.

I was thinking if you're OK with it Monica, we'd all pay you in advance and you could bring them with you to the ship and hand them out at the beginning of the cruise. Seems like it would save you the trouble of shipping them out. Bottom line, I'm good with whatever is decided. In terms of price, 'd say under $10 for all 4 would be reasonable.

Hubby and I (Tom & Sue) are on the Ship of Thieves cruise and we are so EXCITED!!! :upsidedow We are from Midland, Geogia.

Welcome to the thread!

I grew up in Burke! Graduated from Lake Braddock (if I had lived a few more blocks over, I'd have gone to Robinson).

I also lived in Montgomery Village for 4 years.....wow, small world.

RE: bracelets...will order them at a later date, but wanted to try to get an idea on what to order and how much $ it would take. I don't have a problem handing them out at the pier, but be aware - I'm on the ship as soon as I can be!! :rotfl: It'll be my 1st time on the Magic, so I want to get on there and start my vacation ASAP! :rotfl2: NOT exactly a detail we need to iron out at this moment any ways.....

Welcome to all the newbies!

Welcome! There are many folks of our "vintage" in this group. You'll feel very welcome here.:goodvibes

DrHug's first job was at 10 years old, he set up a ride and then sold tickets and ran the brake that stopped the ride at the carnival that came for the fair. The job only lasted 2 weeks, the carnies wanted to take him and his 13 yo friend with them for the summer on their canival tour. His parents said NO! Wonder why. :confused3

His next job was at 12 yo setting pins at the bowling alley. Now I expect that not many, if any, of you remember when there was not an automated pin setter. They had people who where down there at the end of the alley who would grab the pins and throw them into the rack that would come down and set them. He covered as many as 4 lanes, jumping back and forth over the racks, hoping to not get hit with a ball coming his way.:worried: He worked from after school until midnight. Wonder why his grades suffered. He got fired when he refused to stay until 2 am one night (a school night) when some guys wanted to stay and bowl. :(

Dr. Hug sounds like quite a guy! Lots of initiative!

I remember the bowling alley in my little town had guys who were pin setters. There was also a "tip ball"--a tennis ball with a slit cut in it so you could put some $$ in it and then throw down the alley to the pin setters. I bet Dr. Hug cleaned up on the tips if he was covering 4 lanes!:goodvibes
