Bad, bad day here. I really thought 2008 was going to be better but... I got a call from DD this morning that DGD12 was being transported from Salem Kaiser dr office to Dornbecker's Childrens Hospital. She has a very serious case of pneumonia. The Childrens Hospital is attached to the one DD and I work at by a skybridge so an easy walk over when she arrived. Her right lung is completely full and they were talking about putting in a chest tube, but after a second xray thought that might not be necessary. They have her on a couple of IV antibiotics and we are praying for a quick recovery. She is on oxygen, had a reaction to vancomycin and had to be put on benedryl for that. She is quite the trouper. When they were trying to get an IV in at Kaiser to transport they kept sticking her and she finally said "could you just try a different place?" I spent a bit of time with them, then decided I would go back to work for awhile while the docs worked her up and decided what to do. As I was walking back to my office I got a call on my cell from my sis telling me our cousin had commited suicide this morning. :sad2: This was as huge shock, the last person I would expect this from. His dad (my favorite uncle) has lost 2 wives in the past 5 years and now a child. :sad1: How much loss can one person endure? He can use lots of prayers. He is 82 years old and plans to fly back to Delaware for services. So far no one has been able to say they can go with him. I will talk with DrHug when he gets home and see if I can do a couple of days.

Ok, now I am going to try to catch up on this new thread. I will skip the last 10 pages of the old one.

Thanks for listening to my troubles.:grouphug:

Oh my, prayers for you and your family - Your GDD is in good hands and hopefully today will bring better news. Your poor uncle, there is no answer - suicide has hit my life with a co-worker and a brother of a close friend, but never a family member. I cannot understand but prayers for your uncle.

Hey anyone here going to be at DL the weekend of April 5th? That is dd's 15th birthday and she has decided that for her birthday she wishes to spend it at DL and not just for the day but for the weekend! :scared1:

What have I created? Anyway, just made reservations for checking in on Friday April 4th and checking out April 6th at the Grand CA. I wanted to try and get a suite as she wants to invite some girl friends to spend the weekend with her but for some crazy reason they are all gone - at all three resorts - :scratchin wonder if Spring Break is the reason.:headache:

Anyway, we'll be there bright and early (afternoon that is) on Friday. Willing to see if any one is up for an inpromptu meet. Let me know!

I'll wave - from WDW.....It is Flower and Garden time in Florida.

Oh my gosh, Angie, that is just too much to bear. I'm sure I can speak for everybody here when I say we're always here to listen and offer hugs, prayers, and good wishes. I'm so sorry you and your family are going through all of this right now. :sad1: :grouphug:

Lisa: The same goes for you. Although it doesn't sound very good for Frank, hopefully the doctors can treat him and get him healthy again. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

That is SOOOOOOO cool! Your home would definitely be the hot spot of the neighborhood!

Afraid, I'm not your cousin. Would you like to adopt me?

I live in Chicago.

.

After seeing the weather this morning - I am positive you would prefer to be in Florida..But If I adopt you - you'd need to stay home and house sit - when we cruise, just like adopted brother does now....;)

A Very Merry Unbirthday to YOU!!!!! Cork

I'm afraid I've been shopping. Some packing cubes arrived today. ;) Never be afraid of shopping, it could become a phobia.

It turns out that eBags has their own brand of cubes, and the price was very reasonable so I bought the set of 3. I also bought some Eagle Creek Folders that were on mark down because they were discontinued colors.

Also, eBags is having a sale, 10% off, even sale items, and free shipping. The promo code is:

EMSPRING70 Also if you are a AAA member you qualify for a discount on some things as well.:cool1: You have to go through the AAA site to get the discount.

Also a bit of unusual news today. I may be in the local Chicago press or something like that because of WW. They are trying to promote men and WW. I had to write up my success store and send before and after pictures to someone in corporate.

Not quite sure how I feel being interviewed or having my "before" picture splashed around.
Congratulations!!
We have a celebrity in our midst. May I have your autograph? ;) ;)

Regarding the tuxes, Tuxxman is sending me the missing black vests and bow ties via priority mail. I'll be glad when I finally have all the pieces and can at last schlepp everything to the dry cleaners.

I have started to assemble the other accouterments for the formal nights.

Still feeling guilty. But very happy it is finally resolved.Afraid to mention this, based on past performance of recommendations, but on ebay some one is auctioning mickey vests and bowties.

.

Awesome news!!! I know this will sound silly, but that makes my night!!

Frank is terrible. They say he has Failure to Thrive. He has a fever and his blood pressure is about 70/40. He is throwning up and coming out the other end as well. He has had the hiccups since Monday non-stop. They say he is becoming septic, which I am not to sure I understand. They told me the infection is racing though the blood stream. He is weak and miserable.

Sorry to be so graphic,
Lisa

Lisa, I am so sorry. Frank and your family is in our prayers.

Angie,

Sorry to hear about all the happenings in your life right now. :goodvibes Sending you  for your Uncle and family. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

If you take your time with breakfast, getting off the ship and saying your goodbyes:sad:, it will probably be after midday before you get to LAX, so not too bad really. Of course you also have the New Zealand lounge access, but that can get boring too I think!!:lmao:

I've just been checking the VS website and discovered that check-in doesn't open until 1330. :( So we can't get rid of the bags until then. And until we've checked in, we can't have access to the lounge.

Even if we manage to check in online the day before, and manage to print our boarding passes, I don't think we'd be allowed airside with all our luggage. Plus we'll probably need a specific invitation to access the AZ lounge, rather than just our boarding pass.

So then I thought - left luggage.
But there's no facility at LAX any more.

Isn't air travel wonderful? :rotfl2:

whew all caught up and now time to head out for a day of babysitting DGS. :goodvibes See you all later on tonight. :)

Hi,
We do have transportation arranged to the airport. Do you think we can check in as soon as we get there, and then take a cab to disneyland?

Depends on your airline.
For ours (Virgin), the check-in doesn't open until 1330.
