Thanks, but watch out! Susie, Karen, Linda and Woody can tell you... I'm a talker!!! Good thing I make a living talking... I never shut up.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I just came from our DISmeet brunch and afterwards I said to Curt "I keep forgetting how much Kelly talks".

Yes, she talks a lot, but not in a bad way. When she's talking she is probably saying something that you want to hear. She listens also and she lets you say a few things. :rolleyes1

We can have our own banner around our lifeboats! 'Get me out of here'!!!

:lmao: :lmao:

i think i bring my scottish flag for panama canal:rolleyes:

Hi guys, I'm just back from our DL Dismeet at DTD, I forgot my camera so I won't be posting pics. But everyone else took lots of pics. It was a very, very nice group of 19 people who drove from all over the place to get to the meet. Most drove for 1.5 - 2 + hours to get there, so we really appreciated their effort to make it. Most of had nice food - Bubba will post pics. We ended up with nice sunny (slightly breezy & chilly) weather instead of the expected 54 degrees and potential rain. Everyone else was headed into the parks and other destinations, I'm home with the sick family for movie day.... picked up some kettle corn from DTD for movie day. It was a pleasure to meet everyone and we are looking forward to our next meet in April. Thanks for coming everyone!

sound great fun.:thumbsup2

What about some crime scene tape and we can just take as much area as we want.

What a good idea, I will be more calm :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Now I am off to bed

goodnight

BTW... I had one teacher in HS who absolutely believed I could do college... my parents had broken up and I was literally a mess... I went to work after I failed out of my first semester.. and everytime I ran into him he would ask if I was in college and when I said "no" the only thing he would ask me was "why not?" Well, I did it. Quit a full time job at 21 and went back to school... 6 years later I got my degree... & a few years ago I wrote to tell him... felt like a darned Hallmark commercial!!! :goodvibes

As a teacher, I was very touched by your story. It means so much to hear from a former student that you've made a difference in their lives. Thanks for sharing.

we're only 300 here and we have a 300' state room, should be ok,don't cha think?????:rolleyes1

So would that be one square foot per person? I don't think I'll fit!

nope, I think we just got screwed like you at WDW. It's not normal to prepay unless a good discount is involved for a hotel in the US.

There are 2 ways to reserve a hotel w/Disney on the phone, from what I've found. One is with "Disney Vacations" or something like that. It's very restrictive, you have to pay up front and there are penalties to cancel. The other way is just with the hotel directly. With that one, you just give a CC to hold the res, you're not charged and you have up until 48-72 hrs. (I think) to cancel. I'm not certain of the details because the last few times I've stayed at a DL property I've used a online travel agent that specializes in Disney (not DU). I don't know if I'm allowed to give the name, so I won't, but if anyone wants to know you can PM me.

How about "THANKS FOR THE LIFT ! :thumbsup2 "
Doug

Another thought..."LOW ON PIXIE DUST, NEED A LIFT..":confused3

How about "THANKS FOR THE LIFT ! "

Great Ideas, Doug! Thank you!

"Going up???"

You guys are so clever! :rotfl2: I wish I had a balcony, just so I could put up a sign! (Well, maybe I wish I had a balcony for other reasons, too...)

Can't wait to see the pics! Sounds like you had a great time!

pirate: Take what you can...give nothing back!pirate:

when watching the locks in China last summer on the Yangtze we got bored with it too. Well Molly did, I could watch paint dry....I suspect the kids will indure(sp) watching one and then be done with it.
Oh wow - we did that in 2005. I totally agree - it was interesting for a very short while - then boring. We went back to our room and watched the neighbor ships from the verandah. That's probably what we will do this time - or maybe from Diversions. Wasn't it the Diversion's window that took the damage last time? That would have been interesting to see! On our cruise (the first Mexican Riviera) they auctioned off the window with a piece of wood sticking through it.

Julie is her name and her daughter is Estrella. I think they are still cruising, most likely just caught up in life.

That's great idea to have a spanish snack chat date :thumbsup2
: count us in if you do:thumbsup2 DK are still learning mostly understand but don't speak much...they would like this

Cute girls! Love the pixs.
cute pics. ...we actually saw a few snow flurries after church today:eek: they melted as soon as they hit the ground it was in the 40's this morning weird weather.

Glad you all had a great time. Am looking forward to the pics! Wanna define "chilly"?? It is currently only 10 degrees F here!! Your weather sounds like T-shirt and shorts to me!! ;) Uh oh! And as I look outside we are getting another light dusting of snow, again. :sad1:

What about some crime scene tape and we can just take as much area as we want.

Now we are getting the ball rolling!! Let's get it in Lime Green too! ;) Cordon off the area. Post guards. Must show ID prior to entering the area. Kids get the first areas (ok short kids, as I'm betting some of you have tall kids!). Our other "height-challenged" members are in with the kids or just behind them. Taller folk at the back. Shorter folk watch out for longer zoom lenses hitting you in the back of the head ... Those that are not as interested could run the nourishment/beverage route for the others. ;):goodvibes

& if it's the same night as your plans... we'll just make the lab one of the stops on the tour!!!

I can just see a bunch of tipsy adults crashing into the Oceaneer Lab! We can start a flubber fight!!:rotfl:

Now we have a plan!

Just a reminder to be sure to have to have people check thier (i before e) spam or junk mail. That is where I found my survey.

Doug.

BTW I think I found part of Amelia Airheart's aircraft when I redid our media center.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I did the second media center today. This one is in the bedroom and replaces an Ikea media cart that was falling apart and the laminate was peeling off of.

It was much easier though since there was no sound system. This one was just our PS2, PS3 and the Wii.

Vaguely seem to remember hearing something on the news this week that the last book will be made into 2 movies because it is so long/complex.

Yes, that is correct.

I am kind of in a jam with HP . . . like Kelly mentioned, Goblet is a bit heavy, and the following books are more adult in theme too . . . but . . . Sophia is REALLY engaged with HP. All she talks about is the books, and how many chapters can I read tonight?

She wants more, more, more.

I guess we will keep slogging on - anyone with kids been through this with an 8 year old and have any thoughts? Sophia is very mature for her age, but she also gets spooked pretty easily (but loves HP).

The more you guys talk about the PC crossing and getting to see anything, the more I told Amy I feel like sleeping in. The talk of pushiness, the pirating of chairs late at night - jeesh! I'm the kind of person who will give up my spot for children, and does not even like waiting for the parade at WDW because of the pushiness.

With the great number of adults on this cruise and the anticipation of less children - I just wonder how much regard some of those adults will have for young children. I don't need my blood pressure to go up if they start pushing my little girl . . . I guess I wish that DCL could reserve an area for kids where they could be safe.

I know I am blabbing on and on about this, but it is really a bummer to hear what those of you who were on the last one are saying. Guess I was hoping for more of a "Disney" experience, and forgot that bad human nature will probably prevail. Maybe I'll just watch through the porthole window in our room.

Babble away!!!!

I think I may just take a walk around deck 10 (I will try not to push and shove!!!) and then settle down somewhere else on the ship to enjoy the passage!!!

I sure will not be setting an alarm for the crack of dawn. I figure sometime during the day I will be able to see!

Sounds like you guys had a good time! Can't wait for photos! We are watching movies too here. popcorn:: not freshly cooked kettle just microwaved kettle. honestly i don't think can tell the difference she's just munching away. the snow is melting too!:cool1:

I know its discouraging to hear especially adults. We don't like it when its that. And my DH has no patience for rudeness. I am truely hoping the kids club will being doing special events with the kids in special non adult areas. Just like the book we got on the med for the kids with the activities and great information. That is what I am hoping for comes about. You can always come visit our balcony or my parents have room 6000, all the way in the front with a big window, its handicap room but I bet they will have an upfront and personal view. Look at ship, find deck 6, look all the way forward as you are looking forward the windows stop you think but keep looking foward then you see a "porthole" that's their window, almost looking directly onto the cm's pool. did you find it?

Oh flyboy just called and says it cold in calagry, 10 degrees. wasn't expecting it to be that cold....

so did anyone ever say was it the first lock that is so tight and they lost a piece of the magic?

They just changed policy, now upon reservation they are requiring a deposit of one night.. rotten huh?

John:

Wilson is reading it himself (started at the summer at age 7) he loves them. As to the theme I think it depends on the kid. Wilson can watch or read anything and be fine, Molly (at 10) is now getting to be a scaredy cat, so she shys away. We have exposed them the same.

Glad to see you here, missed ya

Maybe we can ask in bulk at guest services about the kids in club getting to see the canal??? Worth a try requesting it? :rolleyes1
