I'm at work too Angie. 15 minutes to go then I get my nice lovely 1.5 hour drive home. However, I don't have to come in to the office tomorrow so today is like my Friday as well. I think I'm going to play with my new camera tomorrow!

Ken, when I had a camera that took AA batteries, I could not stand it when I was not using lithium batteries. The flash lag you talked about drove me nuts! There are some (not rechargeable though) made just for cameras that almost look like two batteries glued together. I really like the rechargeable battery packs we have on our current Canon cameras much better.

Great idea John, I will pick up a set(4) of lithium batteries for when I know I want a faster flash response, and use normal rechargeables for the rest of the time.

what is the lithium and flying deal?

not allowed in checked luggage, right?

found this on TSA
"For personal use, there is generally no restriction on the number of spare batteries allowed in carry-on baggage. This is the case for cell phone batteries, "hearing aid" button cells, and AA batteries/AAA batteries available in retail stores, as well as almost all standard laptop computer batteries."

There is some new FAA ruling because lithium batteries can explode (no kidding).

Effective January 1, 2008, the Department of Transportation (DOT) through the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) will no longer allow loose lithium batteries in checked baggage.

Okay Ian, people talked about cookies and milk, not cookies and vodka!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Thanks.

I think I just may pay to have it done. It would beat any goofiness of trying to get up early enough / stay up late enough / hanging out in the laundry room drinking vodka and eating cookies.

If I think about how much my vacation time is worth, and because there are only two of us. It's worth it.

I'm planning on packing about 1 week to 8 days worth of clothing, so paying for laundry to be done once during the trip is not too too terrible.

Probably not bad if I calculate out how much a vacation hour is worth.

Well, looks like I just about cleared the room here . . .

Guess I will go down and get on the machine for a workout. I am overdue. It has been a busy week, and I have been too tired.

Check in later.

Nan...you pick the airport, but I'm warning you... Albany doesn't have too many good flights to Paris...

At least I get the couch!!!

Can I have some tulips??? :flower3:

When something pops up I know now you have passport and will travel...

I'd give you the bed, but you can't sleep with my DH, he snores :lmao:

Of course, anyone who asks will be granted some snips in the garden :flower3:

Holly, this is very normal as my ex was the same way. She was always having problems when she had my guys, and for me, as you will see, they are fairly well behaved young men. Now my 21yo is starting to try to exert his "I want to be independent" but that is normal for the 15yo skills he has. He can not read, but thinks he should have a car and a driver's license. Just hang in there and remember that you are helping Tyler by trying to help his dad stay consistant with your methods.
Thanks Steve! Good news is that I got sprung today! The psychologist finally realized that I don't need to be there and that the issues that need to be addressed are parenting issues at his dad's house and the arguing his dad and stepmom do about discipline. Yippee!!!!! I'm free! ;)

Right on!!!

I am looking for the post number from seaulater/Linda re: the cms and gifts specifically where she is speaking of the phone cards, etc...

First, Susie that is so cool! One of my old staff members, ran the torch in 1988, he was a young boy at the time, he had lost his leg to cancer, last year he rode across Canada to fundraise for a children's cancer camp. He is now a first year attorney.

Is everyone aware of the new Dept. of Transportation rule that went into affect on Jan 1, 2008 regarding lithium batteries:

"In carry-on luggage, any batteries actually installed in electronic devices (cameras, laptops, etc.) are allowed, but only two more rechareable lithium-ion batteries are allowed as spares and they must be packaged in a plastic bag or the original retail packaging.

"In checked luggage, lithium-ion batteries are allowed only when istalled in an electronic device. No spares are allowed."
