Ok - I'm off to eat dinner - either Cheerio's or Wheat Chex (Darrell's having Honeycombs :thumbsup2 )

Thanks for the tulip pics Nan, very very nice. We need it with all the cold and snow and rain on this side of the country. It's great to see the flowers and the sun. Molly and Will looked cute too.

Great pics!

Thanks

I wanted them in red, but only had their chinese outfits for red. Oh well Happy Year of the Rat too:thumbsup2

OK Kelly, here is a view for comparison. Standing near to the same spot. The street is at the end of the driveway.

I'll PM you the list incase someone doesn't want to be published about where they are going and what they are doing.

Sorry not the best picture, too much sun :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And my cuties and beauties (which is which???)

Very pretty tulips and cute family photo too.

Just checking in. I am beat.

We have gotten about 18 or so inches of snow in about 24 hours.

I cleared snow last night.

I cleared snow this morning.

I just cleared snow again.

The snow pile in front of my driveway from plowing is about six feet high.

I had to go into the office to manage a crisis plan for the stores - I got stuck dropping Sophia off at Grandma's. We are closing our stores three hours early tonight.

I got stuck picking Sophia UP at Grandma's.

Both times I had to get a shovel out of the trunk and spend a half hour digging out. If you stop on a side street, you are SOL, because they have only plowed the main roads, and cannot keep up with them.

I know this isn't Canada, but we have not seen this kind of snow in awhile. My snow blower can't pile it much higher on the side of the driveway, it is about 3 feet high and growing!

The only thing growing faster are the pages on this thread!

WOW, you sure got a lot of snow. Take it very easy!!

Very pretty tulips and cute family photo too.

Thanks, you can tell I have a hard time finding a spot to take a picture to show the flowers and our house and us...hence we are seated in the gutter :lmao:

Next year I'll pull out some over grown plants at the front of the house and get some from the driveway rather than the street...

I'm feeling crafty, I wonder if I can get Paul to bring in my hard drive so I could make a digital scrap page with the tulips since we've been here :rolleyes1 doubt it, he is on the floor petting the dog, we are watching Michael Clayton....Oh well, good idea huh?

Steve (onekindman)

Just noticed your avatar. Are you a train fan?

I am, I have my own 1/8th scale train and it is co-located with Walt Disney's barn at the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum here in Los Angeles (see www.LALS.org) Usually on one or two Sundays a month, I can be found out there running my engine and hauling the public. Lots of fun and I am the Membership chairman too!

And it was a GREAT Comment. And I thank you for serving too. It is the best high ever.

Something happened to me just a little while ago that was a high also. It is so weird, because we have been on this subject; A couple came by our house earlier this afternoon, between DIS sessions, to buy our old English Pub Antique Piano. The llady and I were talking, and the subject of Veterans came up, by her. Well, her God Father is a Medal of Honor recipient from World War II. His name is SGT John D Hawk. She told me all about him and then she gave me one of the 100 Coins that was made for him by the Congressional Medal of Honor Sociery of America. She said she knew that he would want me to have it. WOW. I was blown away. WHAT an Honor that was. This coin is beautiful. What a wonderful day this has been. :cloud9:

Wow! That is so amazing! Now are you going to carry it with you or display it? Me - I'd display it - but what an awesome honor!

But we won't have faces like that in the morning. They will be more like this.. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hear hear! or like this if some of us insist on going out

For the first time in a very long time, I am caught up.

Daniel goes back to Tech tomorrow.

No worries for dinner though.

Lisa

I have Iris and pink calla lillies (sp?) coming up, but not even close to blooming yet because of their placement in the shade. I think I'll do Tulips next year too, yours are gorgeous.

Of course for the the first weigh in, you could go with full clothing and then at your final weigh in come in with the t-shirt & shorts. This will give you more incentive to loose weight and will kind of sandbag the competition!:rolleyes1

It's all those fatty fruity boozy drinks you're dreaming about!!!

Nah, can't do it  my starting weight was last week. I'm supposed to be showing some progress ... downward that is.

Better planning darling would have gotten you out of this... and a pocketfull of change too... ;)

MOTHER DEAR HAS REQUESTED THAT WE ALL PIPE DOWN DURING THE SAILAWAY PARTY BECAUSE HER BELOVED KENTUCKY DERBY WILL BE RUN AROUND THAT TIME... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

(I know... get Mom a Mint Julep and find her a chair...) :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I can be quiet!!:rotfl:

please reply to QM, yes ma'am.:flower3: (she can have a tulip)

Did you curtsey??? I always Curtsey... I always trip over my own feet too....

I would love to see pics of tulips. We are fixig our yard this summer. We moved in a year ago and it is not pretty. My grandparents are going to help, they voulunteer to help us most of the summer. Right now we have rocks in the front garden area but no flowers. And in the back the people that lived here below us put woodchips down and a huge dog house, they also didn't protect the decking. We will remove doghouse and woodchips and put down grass and maybe a small garden. The deck we hope to replace, if you walked on it you would fall through! It is a shame though as it was huge too.

Just remember... even if you don't get to plant the perfect garden this year... at least put a tomato plant in the ground so you have something to enjoy this year.. and some basil... (I have my patio garden going evey year...YUM!!!)

He got home OK. Took about a half hour. Not bad. Good thing he works so close to home. I am soooo enjoying this snowstorm. It is just beautiful! We haven't had this much snow at one time since the blizzard of 1978. Sounds silly but I was really hoping to see another big storm while I am still alive. Guess I can die happy now! Oh, wait. I need to go on a cruise first!:goodvibes

Everyone must think I am really crazy now!

Donna

Yes, but so are we!!! I love snow too, but I've had enough for the year and want my flowers to start coming up!!!

Ladies and Gentleman, ALL members, former members, family members and guests of those who served in one of the respective services in the defense of world peace and freedom, no matter what rank (and some of us were fairly rank especially after a 2 week FTX (Field Training Exercise)) are cordially invited to spend some time during an afternoon at sea in the Diversion's pub and "Pull up a Sandbag or the Hood of a Jeep, or a Plank of the Deck, or a Wingtip" to discuss fallen comrades, quirky stories, and supposed heroic accomplishments over beverages of choice. Uniforms will not be required and the only saluting allowed will be with a glass in hand. I ask our calendaring Adjutant to see if there is a time that can be recommended for this Roll Call?:hyper2: :drinking1

That is a super coin! We will look forward to seeing it at the "This is no Sh*t" session!

You should get a roll of identical stickers for everyone to wear and a little sign - you'll look just like a DCL tour! :rotfl2:

Those Lime Green Mickey heads from Home Depot are just about the same size as the Mickey head stickers we had on the Med Cruises :lmao: :lmao:

Ok had to post this here too - Lisa - your dd might remember April if she seen her on the ship last August - well she looks a bit different now - oooppps - gotta go - will be back later to post picture.

ok - dd just called all excited. Seems that her brother told her he'd only go out to dinner with us when she breaks 1:10 in the 400. This is her first year at St Paul and 1st year of track. IN FACT, this is her first year EVER in sports - she called all giddy -seems on the 4X400 Relay team - her time was clocked as 68 seconds. She has only run it 3 times - those were 1:18 and 1:19 seconds.

Now there is no living with that girl - did I mention she is ultra-competitive? Now she's holding DS to his end of the bargain. This I will have to see.

Anyway, here I go dragging this carcass down to the school - has anyone invented the driver's port-a-potty yet? I'm still feeling a bit  around the edges but not as bad - must have been me laying off the housework- still takes time to recover.

Oh that - and I wanted to try something - well see who's the first to get it! ;)
