I have Iris and pink calla lillies (sp?) coming up, but not even close to blooming yet because of their placement in the shade. I think I'll do Tulips next year too, yours are gorgeous.

remember, you have to place them in the fridge because we don't get cold enough her in CA...We buy our bulbs in bulk, Costco for the last few years in Sept/Oct and plant then ALWAYS on Tday weekend, it's our anniversary thing. We hope to have them on Valentines Day, but as you can tell not this year.

I love Iris. We had a house in town that had a couple of acres that used to grow them every year and display the garden and then split them. Wonderful experience to see every kind you could desire. One year I bought about $150 worth of bulbs and planted them and Casey (yes my aging 16 year old dog) dug them all up and ate them:mad: It was a bad year in my garden that year...

The people that had that garden sold the house and in it's place went up 16 townhouses. Shame :sad2:

A few years ago we found another site for this same type of thing, but this house planted in pots (not a pretty) and no where near as large. We did order a few, they are safe in the garden with Molly's playhouse.

This time of year makes me want to garden, or have Paul garden at my direction...

Wow, page 28 and I'm finally getting a minute to find you guys again. Thought I'd say hi, no way am I going to be able to get caught up tonight. I just got home from work and have to be back to work in 8 hrs, so will have to be awake in 6 hrs:sad2: The weather here today was nasty. snow, snow and more snow! I shoveled this morning for an hour, then went in to shower and have lunch, by the time I went back out to go to work there was just as much snow again. The roads are bad, only the main roads are ploughed so far so it was difficult driving. But I did have a nice surprise, someone ( a neighbour?) had shoveled the end of my drive so I could at least get into my driveway. If the plough goes by tonight though, I'll have a lot of digging out to do to get back out! Sounds like a lot of Canada and the US is being hit with this storm, and Florida has had tornados? Hope everyone is warm and safe :grouphug: I'm going to read a couple of pages then go to bed, try to slow down a little bit please :flower3:

Hey I think it is cool too, is was a lot of blind clicking. I have used google maps to show friends I sent to WDW where the bus stops are and where rides they really want to try are. The my maps tab on google maps is really cool you can have a lot of fun on there.

Pj

I did it - very cool! Thanks for doing this!

Sorry not the best picture, too much sun :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yep, after DL tomorrow, I'm heading out to the garden to clean it up again.
So, Costco, I thought I knew every inch of that place and I never noticed they sold bulbs. I'm putting it on my calendar right now. Good tip!!! thanks.

Susie, why aren't you guys coming to the Dismeet since you're locals?

OK, here are some pictures of the great blizzard of '08 snowfall . . .

Lexi was out with me - she loves the snow

Amy thinks the storm is all my fault. The flag in the background says "Let it Snow"

Normally, Amy loves this kind of weather - not so much today. We are all ready for Spring, and I should be out spreading Scott's instead of blowing snow!

Oh my gosh - I think the snow looks beautiful! Of course I don't have to be out driving or shoveling. But it make for a nice picture!

Ladies and Gentleman, ALL members, former members, family members and guests of those who served in one of the respective services in the defense of world peace and freedom, no matter what rank (and some of us were fairly rank especially after a 2 week FTX (Field Training Exercise)) arecordially invited to spend some time during an afternoon at sea in the Diversion's pub and "Pull up a Sandbag or the Hood of a Jeep, or a Plank of the Deck, or a Wingtip" to discuss fallen comrades, quirky stories, and supposed heroic accomplishments over beverages of choice. Uniforms will not be required and the only saluting allowed will be with a glass in hand. I ask our calendaring Adjutant to see if there is a time that can be recommended for this Roll Call?:hyper2: :drinking1

DH and DFIL are both graduates of West Point. DH would love to be there.

DCL Fairy Arrives in CA 8 Months Late!!!

So, not sure if I posted here or not but on the EB TransAtlantic repo I bought the big fig of the Fab Five at CC, well guess what arrived on my doorstep this morning -

AND ONLY 8 MONTHS LATE!!!!!!!!!

Add this to another round of "Disney Dropped the Ball!!!"

Wonder if it had anything to do with my sincerest and most urgent request for a refund 5X???????

Although I will admit - it has taken them longer than most stores or merchants that I've bought stuff for. Must be the layers of that makes for hard of hearing!

from post # 2534 of Thread #6

If you did not post a picture yet, can you do it now?

I really am still on page 169. I may catch up after we all get home.
Jan :earsgirl:

I found the pictures on post 2660!! Thanks for sharing. SO CUTE!!

Jan :earsgirl:

The gophers eat any bulbs that I plant. Daffodils, tulips, iris.

really the dafs? They got my tulips one year, so we created a a barrier of chicken wire. Seemed to work. I used to give my old bulbs to my mom to plant in her yard in the Sierras because every year the deer would come and munch them there.

Wow, I don't blame you 'cause I would hate that too. I love See's I think Angie sghould tell the story about how she ate 5 pounds in one day.

:rolleyes1 Well, it was a dirty job, but somebody had to do it!

Angie???????? :worship:

Sorry about that John. Wow. If I was closer I would help shovel. I'd be slow and out of breath, but I would help if I could.

Yeah....we'd like to avoid heart attacks before the cruise too!!!

Thanks.....I did something fun this afternoon.

My best friend took me to one of those "Dinner Done" places and I made 10 meals. It was really really fun and I made 10 meals in 2 hours. We ate one tonight Double Stack Beef Quesadillas YUMMY!!
Here is the others I made:

Chicken Cordon Blue
Chicken Saltimbocca with White Wine Sause
Pork Chops with Roasted Red Pepper Bruschetta
Crab Cakes
Filet of Salmon with orange Reduction
Honey Rosemary Chicken
Pork Roast with Creamy Mustard Sauce
Shirmp and Feta Orzo.

My tenth meal I took 4 sides....

I think this will take a lot of stress off at dinner time......
Lisa

We have a place just like that near us... I should try it some time... :)

I am sending Frank over to Don's brother and his wife (who do not like Frank)

Lisa

Susie:

What kind of work do you do? I know you said your DH was a CM, what specifically does he do for Disney. Just being nosy again :rotfl2:

Kelly:

Did you hear on the other kinder yet?

have to do a smartie run here soon. tried to get them tonight not at safeway not at rite aid, I'll try target in the morning...like I need to inhale a bag of those the week before my blood test to check my cholesterol. I wish I had a quick fix, ok any fix. I did do better on the junk food since the start of the year, but I'm no where near losing weight and eating better as I need to be.

I'm back to thinking that I might want to go to a fat farm for my birthday (end of the month) :rolleyes1

Yeah 5 pounds in one day, I think I would need the barfing smilie here...:lmao:

Well, I started early in the morning. I was working at the See's mail facility in Fullerton. The one that sends out all those boxes that companies order, etc. I guess they still do that. We could not mail out boxes that were damaged,of course. So, we would open the damaged boxes and leave them out to munch on while we worked. I was working alone and a 5 lb box had a damaged corner. So, to help Mrs. See keep the good name for her company, I HAD to open it. Well, I munched, had candy for breaks, for lunch, and munched some more. By the end of the day the box was empty.....and I was not! Funny, I never got tired of See's Candy no matter how much I ate. I only worked there on the weekends and after my regular job at holiday time. I just worked for the benefits.....all you can eat while at work, but you cannot take any home with you without paying.

Not crazy at all. I always love the hushed sounds of snow falling at night - traffic noises are gone and everyone is inside. I always loved going for walks at night while it was snowing when we lived in PA.

I love to do that too!!! Just me and the snow plow... and me running from the snow plow...:rolleyes1

Thanks, you can tell I have a hard time finding a spot to take a picture to show the flowers and our house and us...hence we are seated in the gutter :lmao:

Next year I'll pull out some over grown plants at the front of the house and get some from the driveway rather than the street...

I'm feeling crafty, I wonder if I can get Paul to bring in my hard drive so I could make a digital scrap page with the tulips since we've been here :rolleyes1 doubt it, he is on the floor petting the dog, we are watching Michael Clayton....Oh well, good idea huh?

Hey....some of my best friends are seated in the gutter!!!

Great picture...I was going to go run out and take some pictures of MY garden, but it's under snow right now and it's dark and it's windy... and I think if they weren't frozen to the ground, a cow would fly by...

what a night...

I need candy... ;)

Susie, why aren't you guys coming to the Dismeet since you're locals?

Unfortunately, Sunday mornings aren't good for us. We sing at church and have some other commitments. I would have loved to go, and we discussed it, but we just couldn't swing it. I'm so sorry.

I am the VP of HR for New Horizons Computer Learning Centers. We are a global franchise company and have training centers in about 52 countries. DH John is the Senior Businesss Systems Analyst for the Distribution Center at DL. He's been there 12 years.

Those Lime Green Mickey heads from Home Depot are just about the same size as the Mickey head stickers we had on the Med Cruises :lmao: :lmao:

The day I felll down the steps at home. DH dragged me to Home Depot (I was not in a shopping mood :sad2: ). I stocked up on all colors of the Mickey paint chips. I am using a bunch on our door and am making luggage tags. I have a huge pile now.:rotfl: The people behind the counter just looked over and contined their conversation. They looked used to it.:rotfl2:
