Southern Cal whale watching is mostly the Grey Whale migration that takes place during Dec. - Feb. I will call the local places and find out what they see in May.

Kelly,
Thanks for the info....don't worry about May - this is for another trip. :-)

It was a weird day today. Lots happened.

We had some new furniture finally delivered. We bought a nicer "media center" (I despise that term) for the den. Time to get rid of the knock down one we had and replace it with more "grown up" furniture. This one is sort of Japanese inspired. I find it a bit silly, but I suppose all of the electronic equipment will feel more at home, seeing they were all manufactured in Japan.

I spent 2 hours doing the thing I hate the most, disconnecting electronic equipment and reconnecting it. That meant going behind the old media center and wading into the rat's nest of cables. Some of them belonging to pieces of equipment that no longer exists (like the VCR).

It was tangled and dusty. While I was back there I found both Jimmy Hoffa and the Lindberg baby.

After tagging cables and wires, and having one or two nasty fights, I reconnected everything (pulling out a couple of pieces of unused equipment).

Much to my surprise, I turned on components and it worked. Sound even came out of the speakers!

Regarding the Panama Canal day, I was not aware that people went berserk.

I will not deal with a crazy crowd. I find it very distasteful when people lose their common sense and manners and become crazed. I prefer to simply not participate, and opt out.

I am sure that with the amount of time it takes to go through the canal, I will see the canal and I am sure I will be able to take photos.

Tomorrow morning I head off to do my WW job and lead 3 meetings. I also have to weigh-in again. It's week 2 of the Spring WW Staff Challenge.

My WW boss is very determined that her territory win. It's interesting for me, sometimes when I am among other WW leaders. They can be very energetic.

I sometime think I suffer from a perky deficiency.

Deb, it was a few years before the smell bothered me. Now it makes me almost gag when one of our heavy smoking veterans sits in my closed door office with me. Some of the psych meds increase the desire to smoke and so they smoke ALOT and in closed up apartments and whew! it can be strong.
Sometimes it even gives me a headache now. I quit in 1997 and I think it is only the last couple of years or so that it really bothers me.

Deb, I have to agree with Angie. Bubba and I quit in 95. At the time I told myself that I would never be "one of those" :snooty: reformed smokers. But truth be told, I am. I work in a two person office. The woman that works for me is a smoker. She does go outside to smoke,(as is the law in SB county) but when she comes back into the office she smells awful. Almost make me  .I can now even smell it if the person in a car in front of me is smoking. You do become aware of it. I think after some time it will come to bother you more.

And well done to both you and John. I know it's not easy, but you are now adding more days to your years.:goodvibes

Ian - You just made me laugh! (and I did laugh at your words, not just "History of the World, Part I") :lmao:

I'll be thinking of you & Sukie tomorrow - I'm having tea w/ some friends of mine at Sherlock's. Supposedly they have the "real" stuff too :thumbsup2

I only ended up doing some of the stuff I meant to do today - but I did get most of the stuff that I need for the Champagne Girl gifts. :goodvibes

Well funny you should ask, I plan on Napa Rose or Granvilles fro dinner, but totally open to suggestions for the other meals of the day. If anyone wants to splurge with us please come join (I'm an AP so at least that is some discount) I'm going to call them now and see what is open, thanks for reminder :thumbsup2

Self quote...I'm back.

Booked our room at Paradise Pier, eek $260 a night I miss the old days :sad2: They also asked for a deposit, just started that last Monday :sad2: cancellations 5 days out (used to be 24 hours) :sad2: Oh well, it's my bday and I'm at Disneyland

Booked Napa Rose On MARCH 30th @ 6:30pm for a party of 4. I figured if someone wants to join us great, if not we can pair it down, but not as easy to grow it from 2. PM me if anyone wants to join us for dinner.

Marr, we need to Tawk Turkey...interested in another wonder day/night with us??? I told my sis our plans and she was all over it and asked if we could make the same for us this time. Of course...the numbers have to work...

ok, back to reading...

I think lots of people go on these cruises and see them and think to themselves that they look like a great idea. Next cruise they bring them along for little notes among their travel group.
I think we will have mostly repeat cruisers.

Woody

I know how you feel. I'm 34 and I just had my second set put in. The first pair lasted a year and I still had fluid. My doc put in a different kind, so hopefully they will last longer and when they pop out I won't have fluid. I had mild discomfort with the second set.

WOW never heard an adult with them, but of course the problem could exsist. Sorry to hear of it with you, I know the pain is annoying :headache:

I was shocked when I made reservations at the GC, no deposit, nothing....WDW always requires a one night deposit.

Ian...you've got my verandah to escape to on PC crossing day... Bring drinks... I'll bring the food... :thumbsup2

& I didn't know that you set up your entertainment center in the end zone of Giants Stadium???? (Hoffa reference...)

   Oh, I definitely feel for you. I know all too well the difficulties that can arise when trying to finish school. I hope this all works out. No, IT WILL work out. :grouphug: Please keep us updated on all.

Thanks, it will work out.

I love pj's too:love: ...and my DD inherited the love of pj's if I could stay in my pjs all day that is a huge accomplishment for me....I'm usually driving everyone around and running errands:sad2: can you say "taxi mom"

BTW sorry about the requirement change for college...how frustrating:headache: petition it if you can if not you may need to tough it out....I feel your pain...I've been there...my favorite is when they make a course a requirement yet offer it only once a year and fills up so you can't get in and graduate:sad2:
Thanks, I am going Monday to work it out. I am going to my favorite teacher to see if he will help me. I will have to leave work early but they will understand.

On my way to take the kids to the Dr.Seuss movie. Have a good day all!
Lisa
looks cute....debating if I should take DK to it during this spring break or wait until it comes out on video:confused3

Nothing better than comfy pjs! I wore pjs to pajama BINGO on a couple of DCL cruises.
now that is my way to relax on a cruise:goodvibes looking forward to pj breakfast now that is making ourselves feel at home on the magic:thumbsup2

I agree and my mom was mad. I am much better today.
I can't believe he said that you should quit school:mad: what bad advice...they obviously don't know their job. In high school I had a counselor tell me that I shouldn't go to college:sad2: I got accepted to all the universities I applied to except one...they wanted me to retake my SAT's(I'm a horrible test taker) not only did I go to college I graduated (all my roomates from the dorms flunked out)and was very involved in school politics and relations and then had a career as a human resource manager in medical until choosing to set my career aside and be a full time mom. It was not easy to go through all those classes and jump the requirement hoops but with hard work it could be done. They should not be discouraging students but encouraging them that they could do it and help/guide them...and you can do it Jill:thumbsup2 hang in there and petition and play their game your almost there:woohoo:
....off my soapbox....
Thanks, last night I had a breakdown over it but DH helped me through it. Today he took me for my favorite pizza at the mall. Then some mall looking and to my moms, she got a Playstation 3 and then she took us out to eat too. So today was much better. Oh we also got our passport pictures made and I look purple in mine.:upsidedow
sounds like a good day:love:

BTW did you get the vacuum? we have a kirby and I hate it! it is so heavy. DH bought it when we first got married and I thought he was nuts to pay that much for a vacuum so his deal was he would be the one doing the carpets for the duration of the vacuum. Eleven years later its still here...can't wait until it kicks the bucket so we could get a lighter vacuum:sad2:

we are not big fans of crowds ourselves so we'll have to play it by ear what we'll do....still hoping to get upgraded from a window to a balcony so we could watch on our own balcony while eating room service:lovestruc we didn't really have much of a choice when we booked and all they had were GTYs. :sad2:

YES, DECK 10 FORWARD, MEAN AND PUSHY!

Deck 10 forward-people slept out all night in lounge chairs. Around 4 a.m. the lounge chairs started clearing out, deck 10 forward was STANDING ROOM ONLY, NO CHAIRS. People were there by 5 a.m. and it was PACKED!

Thanks for the info . . . I really want to see the transit, but I am not fighting through pushy people. Maybe I will just wait in the back until after the first locks.

Have a second one for me!:drinking1

She's having a second for me... third for you... she will be VERY happy!!!

There's a Boudin bakery at DL...

YES!!!! :thumbsup2 I wonder if they have to good butter cookies there...

Isn't room service 24 hrs? Or do you have to be in a ROOM to get room service???

Thanks! I'll be by!;) (with some Smarties)

Do you think they will have a problem delivering to the 3rd lounger to the right, next to the guy in the Mickey PJ's????

Hmm...so what if the only day they have Palo brunch is on PC day? I guess it wouldn't be too bad if you got in and out between Gatun & Pedrom Miguel....
Lisa

If I could get in ANYDAY!!! I would go!!!

Who's got the dead horse? Bring him over here!!!!!!

Oh all I could think of was the Godfather and the dead horse in the bed...

Of course the last horse I bet on is still following the pace car off the track...

gydell-happy to see everything is ok with you and your house:goodvibes did you know that the girl that was on the bachelor who's parents live in your neighborhood was chosen to be the next bachelorette?:confused3

well, we just watch the bee movie a little while ago and DH is done cooking steaks on the grill so heading out to eat....have a good evening everyone:goodvibes

To everyone in Georgia . . . stay safe.

I would have a hard time with that weather and no basement.

I was shocked when I made reservations at the GC, no deposit, nothing....WDW always requires a one night deposit.

Just changed that plan, and I think it stinks. No other hotels do this, it's just crazy and a money grab.
