we've never been - i like the thought of a cruise unless someone can convince me one island to go to. I hate moving and repacking etc.
I am not afraid to fly anymore. Afraid of the prices, but hey, as John says - we can make more!

V - we are cruising Thanksgiving and my family is driving to the port, but we need to get Daniel there from Blacksburg. I just looked online for flights and it will be about $800 to fly him from Roanoke to Jacksonville. Just crazy....

John just got back with ice cream, we are still without air.
I am pretending that we are in our island home.

:teeth: I am just so happy to have my Charmin back. Fifteen days of that sandpaper bathroom tissue is killer!

I SO totally agree!!! I think I'll be adding some of my own tpee for my next cruise!

Oh yes... I'm trying to figure out how to put the 12 pack of tp in with me next time... hey... will free up space for souvies!!!

I had rebooked the dummy date on the ship.

I spoke to our travel agent today. We are now confirmed on the September 12, 2009, 7-night cruise.

Anyone have any insights into a standard inside stateroom vs. a "sideways" stateroom?

No... but I hear they feel bigger...

It was too cold for Ballroom Under the Stars outside, so it was moved to Rockin' Bar D but DCL didn't publicize that. We were one of only three couples there, along with Nikki the dance instructor. We had a good time, but we were disappointed that there weren't more people. I think DCL really dropped the ball on that one. Brent didn't mention the ballroom dancing at all at the early Disney Dreams show. :confused3 There were also a couple of really cute kids who came by all dressed up & ready to dance (I think I saw Holly and Tyler peek in), but cast members made them leave because it was after 9:00 pm. That was too bad because they would have been able to participate if the venue hadn't changed.

I think they dropped this one too... especially since the had Joey Fatone on board... he WAS on DWTS...

I meant to post this earlier but we went to the Ballroom Under the Stars Party but didn't stay. We found out the moved it and only 2 couples were danicing in Rockin Bar D, so we left. I just go to the parties to see the critters! I figure they didn't annonce it since kids arn't allowed in Rockin Bar D. It was a shame though, I always look foward to deck parties.

Oh and the song that reminds me of this cruise is "On My Way" from Brother Bear, I sang and danced when they played this song at Sailaway I was so excited (DH was hiding):rotfl2: .

it began at a pool with a dole whip...swimming and food, likely culprits ::cop:

I don't think that a few hours in enough time to see any of the islands but that is just my opinion. I would love to do a Hawaiian cruise.

Hit the little red X in the upper right hand corner... works for me every time!!! :rotfl:
:rotfl: ha ha!

I agree. My best friend spent several semesters as a rainbow warrier and her brother lives on Oahau (sp) - johnny wants to see plants, I want a beach.

V-
I love hawaii...my dd and I used to that every year before these last 2 disney cruises. My favorite island is Kauai. So beautiful. Small with interesting waterfalls and climbing, beaches, caves etc. I miss it and hope to go back soon. We usually went at thanksgiving (my bday) and the weather is great and it's not that crowded, plus it's not considered the "holiday" season yet. If it's your first time, the main island is probably good for you. Oahu has alot to offer. Pineapple plantation, pearl harbor, north shore waves, a beautiful botanical garden and waterfall on north shore and of course waikiki (sp?) with it's beaches. That is the island disney is opening their dvc resort on. Just my humble opinion.

I wanted to let you all know that Sukie will be on Public Television on June 3rd. He is appearing in a documentary about Chicago gay history.

Not sure how many of you are aware of it, but in addition to writing two weekly newspaper columns, he is also a historian and is working on a history book. He is somewhat known in Chicago as a history expert in this topic and has spent hundreds of hours doing research.

He appears as a "talking head" in the documentary.

Not sure if it will be airing anywhere else other than Chicago, though it might at a future date.

The name of the program is "Out & Proud in Chicago."

This is sort of a big deal for us. The interviews were shot at our house, and I remember coming home from work several times to find documentary crew packing up and leaving our place.

Sort of exciting. You get to see our built-in bookshelves.

Will it be on WGN Channel 9? We get that here.

thanks, I cried after I did her makeup, too grown up for me,sniffle...

GREASE!!!! She is in the chorus, just in a few group songs. She missed hmmmm, 3 weeks of the last bit of rehersal because her mother planned this silly vacation. The director was very gracious to allow her a part, at all. Yes this is an audition and get cut play in middle school.

I'll get some more photos of her in costume. She wears this outfit at the beginning, Rydell High song and dance and then she changes into a prom dress for the prom song and dance. hand jive, gotta love it :thumbsup2

That's so funny! Our youth theater group did Grease while we were gone. Both kids were a little mopey for a few minutes on the 2nd weekend because they were missing being in the show with all their friends! I guess it's Grease season! But it didn't last long! They were having too much fun with all their new friends to be sad for very long. Now they're sad because they miss all the friends they made on the ship! Ya always want what ya don't have!
