The most important thing is that I get to go and share with all my family of friends. And just think, eventually we'll get the money and won't have anything to spend it on. So we can save it for our next trip.

and the cool thing is they have a Pizza Tracker. They will tell me when it is prepped, then in the oven, then the box and then out for delivery.

How cool is that?


I am easily amused.

those are good traits in a shot giver, I'll juggle will that take your mind off it. and yes I think it's cool about the pizza too, might have to check it out.

I am picking up the girls at the bus stop and heading out to our local craft store....it is Webkinz Weekend Craze and most stores have....spend 10.00 on webkinz stuff and get a free webkinz (first 500 people). It starts at 5pm and I have been warned the store will be a madhouse. It will be myself with my 2 and a friend each...if I don't check back here later tonight, I was swallowed up by screaming kids

Ken and Corrine, actually it is part of the Scouting program for girls here in Canada. It is the youngest group of girls, ages 5-6, in the Girl Guides program. Nothing to do with Church.

"In Sparks, the emphasis is on developing friendships and learning about community, while also exploring the individual skills and talents of each girl in the unit. Through a varied program that includes activities in the areas of the outdoors, the arts and the sciences, girls are encouraged to try a bit of everything.

No two days in Sparks are alike. Examples of activities at weekly Spark meetings include:

*becoming familiar with the community through excursions to community *facilities such as a fire station or a neighbourhood landmark
8exploring the arts by sculpting animals with playdough or making musical instruments
*learning about safety at a bike or water safety day
*learning to prepare simple snacks
*learning about the outdoors on nature scavenger hunts
*having sleepovers or going camping
*Sparks learn to share and to think of themselves as part of a greater community and along the way they make friendships that will last a lifetime."

Normally they will have a cut off DOB date for each age group, but see if she can go along as a guest and look into a local Brownie troop.

Sad news....I had to give up my hotel on the ocean in LA....sorry Woody, not in your neighborhood anymore, but we can still do the Cheesecake Factory for a meal together.

We filed our taxes on Feb 10th and were due to receive a substantial refund of a few thousand dollars. We were going to save it for our trip. Well it's almost cruise time and we still have not received it yet. The IRS says we are still due to receive it but somehow it got lost in some black hole and they are taking 30 days to review and then if it doesn't get to us they'll pass it on to another area and they will take another 30 days to review it, etc.

The bottom line is, we didn't get it in time for our vacation and all of our disposable income and then some has been going to Ray, stepdad, for his care. So our available funds for this vacation just got sucked dry. We knew we weren't going to cancel, but we had to scramble to reschedule everything to fit our new budget.

We had to cancel our Sept 08 cruise and we transferred that deposit to this cruise. We canceled our oceanfront suite in FL to a regular room in the same hotel. We had to cancel our oceanfront balcony in LA and changed hotels completely. We are now staying at Staybridge Suites in Torrance for free. We cashed in some priority club points. We're still staying 5 days in LA and then going on to Vegas. The Luxor is already paid for.

I'm sad about my downgrades but I'm glad that I'm still going. Life is real. God Bless the IRS!

Oh no Deb! I'm sorry.....but I'm glad you & John are still able to cruise with us all! Working for an income tax lawyer, I see horrible examples every day of how incompetent the IRS workers are.

Doesn't it seem like just yesterday when I was freaking out cause Daniel was leaving for VA Tech? Well, next Wednesday he comes home as a sophomore!!
It really did go fast and I think that looking forward to this trip helped a lot!!

He will work for a week before we leave....

No Ian of course not.....but on the master list is says NO for having a fish extender.....therefore you are not on this list. This list is based on handing out fish gifts. I'll add you to my manual copy so I know where you'll be and Ken too, but you'll be a hand written addition.

Hey All:

Sorry, but I had to work and don't have the ability to chat from work. Read from page 185 til 212 then skipped to here. Figured I would just read more about sandwiches, etc...

Saw that a lot of folks are staying on deck 6, so are we.

Did our on-line check-in last night and printed everything, tomorrow I'm submitting our "mail hold" at post office. Finally only two weeks left!

sorry dude, I had a life today. Went to a garden party..not really garden tour, and then work. the last part was terrible. in a big issue with a client over non payment of DH legal services. Not fun.

I was expecting a good refund from IRS and filed in early Feb. I thought I would have the funds in hand way before we cruised so that I could go for some upscale reservations. Well that didn't happen. IRS still says that I'm due the refund, but they are reviewing the file and will get back to me in 30 days to see why I don't have it yet. If I still don't get it by then, they will pass it along to another department for another 30 day review and so on and so forth. Eventually I'll get it but not in time for this trip. So I had to downgrade all my hotel reservations in FL and CA and I had to cancel my Sept 08 cruise and transfer the deposit to this cruise. I'm not going top of the line anymore, but at least I'm still going. Being with my new family of friends is much more important.....so it's all good!

Half the time I fall asleep out there because I just love being close to the water. It's my mom's fault. She brought us to the beach all the time from when we were very young and we would take our afternoon naps sleeping on the beach near the water. It's the best sleep that I have.
