I'm just playing around with some designs.

Where is Cindy?

Ethan's name was going to be Shaelyn but we changed our mind with Brooke!

One of our girls was going to be Kristopher but that never worked out.

Shaelyn means "from the fairy fort" and she has always been my little Tink. Blonde hair and all.

(Yes Shannon made my costume - but not Shaelyn's)

I'm not familiar with your neck of the woods, but in my experience as an Employment Counsellor, I usually tell people that the best time to look for a job is when you have one. Many of my clients have come back and let me know that after getting a job they were surprised at how many other jobs fell into their laps. A current work history usually helps employers make a decision because they feel someone else has already "broken you in" to the world of work and current "worker" is less of a risk than someone who isn't currently employed.

I say if you want out of your current job, start looking now. You are in the position of power as you can take or turn down other opportunities if you want. That power often leads to more confidence which usually leads to more opportunities.

Oh yes and one of my favourite quotes I give to clients:

"The biggest mistake you can make is to believe that you work for someone else."

That's true. Maybe I will look after the cruise.

I had better get to bed, I have class early tomorrow and its almost 2am.

Thanks for all the support tonight.

Ken, I know you've told us before that you did that for a living, but I keep thinking you are a techno guy instead. wise words...hence I'm self-employed for over 12+ years now.

Well, technically I am no longer an employment counsellor as I am now Operations Manager for an Employment Agency and have been for a few years. Part of my job is to be the IT department and to create, build and maintain our databases. This has mainy come about because I have always enjoyed computers.

My first computer was a Commodore 64. The first computer I worked with was a TRS 80 (Radio Shack special, nicknamed "Trash 80). I used to spend hours going on BBS' with a 1200 baud modem... Computers have always interested me - but as a hobby. I think if my work was based solely on computers I wouldn't like it. Right now, my work just kind of gives me ecuses to experiment with different things.

But in the end, my real job is to help people on welfare get jobs.

Ethan had white hair and BLUE eyes sooo when I found out I was having a girl with Brooke I named her after a girl that I admired in high school that was deaf. She had blond hair and freckles and I just pictured my Brooke to be the same (not deaf). Well Brooke has black hair and brown eyes like daddy. In the name book that tells you what people think of the name it says "stuck up brunette". :confused3

LOVE IT! I'm going to post that one at work. Just love it. Thanks for sharing.

Nite. Have to say my prayers for the Sharks before going to bed...

Hi - trying to catch up but I now am too tired. I think I should just join in at night, and not worry about catching up. I miss out on all the fun.

Not much fun tonight but you should join in to make it better!

Here is the quick and dirty version of the name bar. You have to use multiple layers to get it to work, and the order makes a difference.

EDIT: HMMM apparently flickr doesn't like .png files as it added the black splotches beind the name, which don't show in the original.

And here is a quick and dirty version of the invert feature on PSE.

I also thought that I'm the cab snob, so you may want a cab instead, those are easy to get, just ask Guest services to call one for you.

May just do that.

My brother pulled through the surgery. We just got home.

It was a long surgery, but where there is life, there is hope. What the doctor found was that a large section of his small intestine was not getting blood flow, and had died. It has been destroyed by infection and loss of blood flow, and had become gangrenous. It was a good thing that they operated when they did.

They cleaned him up inside, and had to bring a portion of the bowel out for a colostomy.

He is by no means out of the woods, is still in ICU, and has many hurdles ahead of him. Both Amy and I believe he looks better now than before he went in.

Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts, and especially for your prayers. It has been a long and stressful day, and I told Sophia tonight how lucky I am to have her, her brother, and Amy. Her uncle only has us as family. I will say this though, the outpouring of help and concern from his students and colleagues has been nothing short of overwhelming, and a pair of his students came up with us tonight. I told them how much I appreciated them, and that he would need them when he is awake as he has not only a huge physical hurdle, but also an enormous mental hurdle to get over.

He will need all their love and support to know how much he is cared about.

Manuel was on my mind all last night so this is good news John. I will continue to pray for him and you all too.

Your comments about his students brought tears to my eyes!

So cute

I wanted to post a picture before I go to bed. I have no idea which cruise this was, but I think it is cute!

Wonderful!:lmao:

Loving the pics tonight folks!

Ok I had a very bad day at work. I am available 2 days a week for a total of around 20 hours. Well next week is my last week of school and my manager scheduled me almost 40 hrs and 5 days without asking me. I told her I couldn't work that much and she said too bad you have to. I of coarse don't have to as that is not my availabilty. Well if I tell HR or her manager she will look for a way to get me HUGE trouble. Today she wouldn't look or talk to me.She wanted to write me up b/c I called in Monday. I haven't called in in months (I have worked her 7 years). Thanks goodness my best friend is also a manager and warned me.

I really want to get it fixed but she will punish me if I do. Our HR won't tell her but she will find out. She basically threatens us not to tell what she does to us. She tells us all the time she can fire us anytime she wants. Its getting really old so I am thinking on going over there either tomarrow or Fri and hope she doesn't see me talking to HR. Last time I talked to HR we all went as a group and she wrote the whole team up. Everyone quit but me and now all the new people are quitting too.

Thanks for letting me vent. I hope to talk to my best friend and her boyfriend (both managers) about what to do tomorrow.

Sorry about your bad day. Why do managers behave like this? I would seriously think of moving on now.

Paul is pressuring me to make our sign.

So far we have
