Anyone remember the "Kool Jazz Festivals"???

I got to see Miles Davis at the Kool Jazz Festival at Blossom Music Center.

Wouldn't it be cool if they had a Jazz night in one of the clubs on our cruise!

I would enjoy that!

Another list.....

I fully understand about the needles! I start crying in the shower before I go to the Dr, all the way there and continue through the entire appointment. When it comes time to take blood, 1 nurse holds 1 arm, another nurse holds the other arm and 1 nurse holds my legs because I am shaking so much that my whole body is moving. One time some OLD man in the waiting room got up and came in and started patting my head and telling me it would be ok. They love seeing me come!

I'm packed except now I am rethinking my packing since there is no room to buy anything and bring home. maybe just take a duffle bag with our phones and ipods in it. Then we'll have a little room!

Oh, my Dear! I am so sorry needles scare you so much! I am a lab technologist by training ( I don't practice anymore) My Patrick always says when we go for his bloodwork, that if the tech can't do it, his mom can get his vein! He is so funny! I always insist on a butterfly needle for him, it is smaller and there's very little pain!

I suggest: just close your eyes and dream of butterflies floating above you! And then you get to go out for breakfast as a reward! That always works for Patrick!

I guess you don't give blood to the RedCross! My DH and I give regularly.....they give Olive Garden $10 gift certificates as a reward there! I have given over 2 gallons, and my hubby is almost up to 2 gallons!

Kim,

They did already tell him that from the MRI that it does not appear to have spread to the liver or lymph nodes, but that they will not know for sure until after the surgery. He was also told that his "C" count is normal, which they said was a good thing.

I thought we had no history of this in the family, but then remembered that my Uncle (dad's twin, same Birthday as dad and brother) died from colon cancer. Dad has had benign polyps removed.

I will have my BB too Kim. I may email you with questions.

Boy, Kansas is whipping NC . . . should I go over to another old thread Kim?

Maybe if you harrass Mariel enough it would cheer her up...

Look Familiar Deb???

Had to have Amy take my picture there . . .

Great shots John......but it's an errie feeling because that's the spot where he died.

Sandra, there will be special merchandise avilable for sale, on the ship. There also MAY be a present from DCL (the 2005 people got a book on the Canal, Med people got leather passport cases--I think). I'll bet what they have available will be better than the generic stateroom gifts you can order now on line.

Well....chatted on the phone with Cheri...so no nap :sad2: , but we did work out our strategy for getting ourselves to and from Prescot/Phoenix at each end of the trip. Now I have to call and find out what time breakfast buffet is served at Storytellers on Sunday the 25th.

.

We also got a really neat Med. book for the Med Repo. Of course, it was the first time. I think the first time Panama Canal Repo people would get more special gifts than we repeaters, but I don't care!

Going through the Panama Canal is one of the things on my list! It is so exciting for us! Connie

How envious I am . . . I grew up loving the Beatles, but by the time I was old enough, they were no longer a group. I still remember watching Monday Night Football the night John Lennon was shot with Howard Kossel broadcasting . . . for me, that was "The Night the Music Died".

I think I was so lucky to be around in their heyday. I have all their US albums and some on CD. When I was working on the slide show for my reunion last summer and listening to all that old music from the 60s it was a blast!

Thanks Nan.

Going to the Hospital early tomorrow morning. His surgery is at 8:00. I don't know if there is internet at the hospital (I would rather have that than TV if I was in there). I may take my laptop.

I'll keep your brother in my prayers, John. I'll bet they have internet there. It seems like it's everywhere now.

My TA, Kevin, called 2 times this week and I called once. The ship is overbooked still. I was on the phone with the cs rep, who was very nice, trying to straighten something out and she told me all about it... Don't know why that 4 keeps showing up, you can't book it anyway.

kim

OVERBOOKED!!!!

Did you guys see "Speed Racer" is going to be a movie?

Coming out May 9th - just saw the commercial.

I LOVED that cartoon as a kid, and had a crush on Trixie.

Wonder how they will do Chim Chim?

I LOVED Speed Racer.

Go Speed Racer! Go Speed Racer! Go Speed Racer! Go!

Made chicken enchiladas for Venetia for dinner. Just about time to grub. Rice and beans too. Maybe some tequila later too!!!

My girls loved those Med. books. They were great.

It was an amazing time wasn't it? There was so much good music and it was all either free or very cheap.

It was a great era and I'm glad to have been young during it so that I could experience it all. I don't think you could do that today without having problems.

Now that we're on the subject.....did anyone actually attend Woodstock in '69? I was still too young.....just 13. But I went back there for a reunion concert.....on the original site in Bethel NY. I think it was the 20 year reunion. I saw Melanie.....doing......I've got a brand new pair of roller skates....Later I went back with John to the 25 year reunion. Oh what fun! I think they still do the runion concerts, but I can't be certain. I'm talking about the ones on the original site, not the one they called Woodstock that was held in Saugerties and turned out to be a disaster.

Ok this is not me but this is what my hair looked like. A lot longer and thicker.

I couldn't find the karate shoes. I guess they weren't as popular as I thought. I like the thought of calling them happy shoes.

Now back to catching up.

Here you go on the Chinese Mary Janes and Kung Fung slippers. I wore these.
