 Oh no! I hope it works out for you all to still cruise with us. :grouphug:

I started crying when we talking...deep down I know it is the most responsible thing to do...but you know when you really want something so bad you just don't want to think responsible???

Of course mortgages in CA are high, and our house is no exception. And when his clients slow down, it really affects our cash flow. I have my board meeting on Feb. 6 and I am going to ask for a bonus b/c they did a salary survey and it showed I was a little under the market. I think I'm doing a good job, so I hope they would think about making it retro. But really the survey was done to set parameters for the upcoming fiscal year (we are July-June) so not sure if they will consider retro, or if I shouldn't ask for it since it might seem like I'm being greedy or something. Still...I have this hope that if I do get the bonus, maybe DH would change his mind...but as I said, it has more to do with him being out of pocket for 2 weeks. It would be a shame to spend all this money and have DH stuck in the hallway on wireless working all the time....

I did call DC and made a phantom booking for the 8/22/09 sailling. There was a Cat. 2 available. It gives me just a glimmer of happiness to think about sailing in the Cat. 2 as we loved the Cat. 1 with our 4 boys. But then the happiness goes away as I know that would mean I'm not going on this cruise....I'm really sad...

But no worries about the whole fish teams...I can manage that no matter what.

:confused3 :confused3

What is this? I don't want to miss anything good!

Delicious definately! If I remember correctly it's coffee (duh), Frangelico and Baileys. My friend Will took me to Cove Cafe on my very 1st cruise (March 2005) and we both had these. He and I are looking forward to being able to do this again (together this time).

 s and prayers out to you. Really hope you don't need to cancel, you're part of our family. Keep us informed.
Thanks Monica. I was posting my reply to Holly while you posted...I just have to figure this out....

Vanessa & John...have you seen this shot? We just got our PP CD and are going through it all. Can't believe it was over a month ago. :(

John1 is in the front seat with V's oldest DD and his DD and John2 is on the right side in the back seat with my DH Mike on the left.

OK...out the door to pick up our lunch and head on up to Prescott for the WINNERS CELEBRATION!!

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO! :cool1:

Sorry to hear about your situation. You know there will be plenty of good thoughts coming your way from this group.

This statement is confusing to me - are you in a Cat 1 for this cruise? Wasn't that payment due yesterday (105 days out)? Can you and the boys go and leave your DH at home and maybe bring another adult instead? Not trying to be nosy but to help stimulate your thought process.

Oh that sounds really good! :goodvibes Better than the mochas we usually have! ;)

So now guess what's happened. Poor Tyler just can't get a break. I shared this with Jan last night, but not here yet. It's not life threatening, but on top of everything else going on with Tyler at once, it just doesn't seem fair.

OK...I think I mentioned a while back that we found out that his vision has completely shifted in the last year from being very farsighted to very nearsighted, and we're waiting for his new lenses to come in. But wait, there's more. Towards the end of the week, I got a voice mail from the occupational therapist at Tyler's school telling me she's been evaluating him and strongly recommends private occupational therapy (in addition to the help they can give him at school) because he's very far behind on his fine motor skills and it has a major effect on trying to write, obviously. OK...his dad and I will work that out, she recommended some places locally (in a letter she sent home that day), we can take care of that.

But wait, there's more. Yesterday I got a letter from the county health department telling me they did THREE hearing tests on Tyler, one a week for three weeks (the multiples were to verify the poor readings), and he has a significant lack of hearing in his right ear. Like I said, not life threatening, but yet another trip to the doctor for follow up.

No wonder he's so frustrated when almost nothing works right on his body. :sad1: I know it could be worse...because he is VERY healthy..doesn't even get colds almost every (one a year at most), but so many things shouldn't be going wrong all at once.

I'm going to do my best, to make sure he has an awesome time on this cruise because he sure does deserve it with all this crap being thrown at him.

I hope it all works out so you can sail with us!

Sorry to complain so much, it's just that you've all been with us for this whole journey because really, all these things have come up during the life of this thread. I hate to whine, it's just so many things happening at once.

Now I really have to head out. I got distracted and was watching POC, eating lunch, etc. Have to shovel, shower, clean out the car, fix Bobby's leak, and make a stop on my way to the jewelry party in just over an hour. I'll catch you all tonight!

Oh Holly, I'm so sorry to hear that news. You're right, this poor kid can't get a break! I'm so fascinated with Tyler's progress because it sounds like my body. It's a medical anomaly. Now I call it "Stitch has a glitch!"

Holly,
Sorry to hear all of this.

Does Tyler have an IEP? The reason I ask is one of my colege roommates is a translator/note taker for a girl with a hearing issue. She attends class with her - not all day just certain areas like math, reading, etc. - and takes notes since she can't hear well enough to keep up with the class. This was directed by the girls IEP.

Hope this works out and Tyler gets the help he needs.

Oh Holly! Lots of hugs for Tyler:grouphug: and some for you too. It is just a really good thing that so many folks are looking out for him, testing him for all these things. Maybe when he can see and hear he won't be so frustrated and he can deal with his other issues.

Not yet. We didn't even know this was an issue until I got the letter yesterday. We'll have to get it checked out to see exactly how bad it is. I don't know what the numbers mean on the readings they sent me.

We were in Cat. 1 for a previous cruise (loved!). Way not in a Cat. 1 for this one!!! If we could have afford a Cat. 1 for this one, I probably would have no worries!!! :rotfl: We have two cat. 9, connecting.

I did think of your thought...the problem is I'm celebrating my 40th and I'm not sure how DH would feel if I wasn't with him. And I would miss him I think...I have taken trips away, but only about 4-5 days. And he probably would go crazy missing the boys that long (there still real young, ages 2-10). But I am giving it some thought as I really want to go and have this experience for both myself and the kids....arg..

Thanks for the nice thoughts.:goodvibes
