I don't know how much homework my two boys will have. I will find out more after their conferences on Tuesday. Anyway, I can be there to help Cheri. I am a special education teacher, specializing in learning disabilities. However, I've just been substitute teaching since the kids were born, so I've been teaching everything from Pre-K through 5th. I stay far away from those middle-schoolers. :scared1: :rotfl:

So, here's the deal Cheri. I will help during study hall with the other kids, but YOU HAVE TO SUPERVISE MINE (please). Seriously, things go much better when other people teach my kids, ya know what I mean? Thanks again for doing this. :worship: :worship:

What type of spa donation money are we thinking? Cheri, did you have an amount in mind?

One thing that really impresses us with your country is your praise of your forces fighting overseas. Whilst I realise not everyone will feel the same, we do get a feeling you value your troops.

In our country we are very bad at valuing our service personnel, but we have just reached a new low. One city, Peterborough, is close to an air force base, and the service personnel are being verbally abused when seen in uniform in the city because the abusers don't agree with our deploying troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.:sad2: So, they have been told not to wear uniform when out in the city!:confused3

That is so sad. People need to realize that their right to BE verbally abusive to these troops is because of the sacrifices of previous troops. Very, very sad to me. Reminds me of our VietNam days when our soldiers who were wounded were spat on by protesters of the war. I had a friend (now deceased) who was on a gurney and someone spat in his face. Still makes me cry to think about it. Thankfully, this nation seems to have learned some lessons from that era.

Thats what I requested yesterday for those exact reason. :thumbsup2

Hi,

I thought it looked like a good rotation. It seems that most are shooting for the 8:00pm rotation, APL, though.

I was at the dentist the other day and a VW mechanic was in the waiting room. He spied my Eurovan and asked if I wanted to sell it. :lmao:

He said he had heard that Canada was going to import the Eurovan in 2009. Have you heard anything? He also did not have nice things to say about the chrysler product.

not sure what my group wants...I would love the 6 though, gives you a tad more time.

Cheri - how mice of you. I am trying to think of something Samantha (maybe Haley too) can put together and take into school - they are on the young side though. I plan on having them send postcards to their classes though.

what time is the early show? I'm thinking will I have time between the show and dinner to shower and clean up?

How have I forgotten this from my first cruise? I do remember not going to the show every night, just too much stuff to do...

We've always done late seating and I don't remember ever having enough time to go back to the room, shower and get ready. But maybe I'm slow!!

We are on early dining so this rotation is 5:45 I believe.

I'm not surprised by this. It they are in cood condition they can go for some high dollars. Now if you had the earlier model of the Westfalia, and in good condition, those can go for BIG bucks. Especially if its a syncro van.

I have not heard about this but I will see what I can find out. I haven't really heard anything on the new vans yet. But just seeing the chrysler on the road I was not impressed with the overall look of it.

:goodvibes

Oh, forgot to mention yesterday. I got my official rejection letter from that law firm where I applied last month. Oh well.....plenty more opportunities will come along. :thumbsup2 Besides, as stressed out as I've been, I can't imagine the added stress of learning a new job.

Good positive attitude! I like it. Gotta remain focussed on what is important to you at this point.

As an employment counsellor I have a little activity I do with people in my Job Find Clubs.

I have each of them take out a piece of lined paper. Down in the very bottom right hand corner I have them write the word YES. Take up about 3 lines so it stands out and is pretty big. Now, using the rest of the sheet write the word "no" normally as many times as it takes to fill the rest of the paper up.

Now, everytime that you get a rejection letter or are told that you didn't get the job, cross off one of the No's. Each time you get a rejection letter think of it as being one step closer to actually getting the YES. It helsp to turn those "No's" into something positive because now you know you are closer to gettng what you want.

V, do you have the mouse on the brain today.:rotfl:

Marilyn,

For the most part people here are supportive of the troops, but we have a few that are do not as well. There is a very unpleasant group here that protests at military funerals.

I just noticed that??!! What was I thinking?

I was thinking of making some sort of book that had a page for each port and putting some facts in there, very simple and straigt forward so Samantha could write them down..like Currency: and put what it is and maybe glue an actual coin or something?! I don't know. I would like her to be able to take stuff other than pictures to school.

That is so sad. I just don't get it. And that's a far cry from where your country used to be with regards to your forces. MY grandfather talks of the respect shown by the people when he was over there in uniform during and after WWII.

I know here I have been quite happy at the amount of pride Canadians are finally starting to put in with our forces. My office rents space to the Canadian Forces at no charge when they come to our city to do recruiting drives or for medical testing. We believe it is just part of our national duty and way we can help to give back.

Here it is Friday I am wearing red. www.redfridays.ca

????????????????? Help - never done this before -- what is the deal? Sorry if this is duplicative but.......am I understanding that I need to somehow pre-register with the Disney bus to take me to the airport?????

Newbie help needed - thanks.

I believe this was in regards to Holly flying Spirit airlines and their luggage requirements.

That is just horrible. We may not agree with governments' decisions about war, and we can object, but the individual soldiers should not be targeted.

I am sure others could come up with things the younger children could do. I think it would be lovely for them to take back a book like this to show school.

That is excellent.

I think that's a great idea. Some type of treasure that she could pick out at each stop. It would be a nice keepsake for her too.

That's awesome! My sister is really struggling to find a job right now and I think this is very cool!

On a serious note. I'm interested in knowing how many of you managed to swing the time before and after the cruise? It dawned on folks today that I was going to be gone for 2 weeks. I added, "Yeah, I'll be on a ship in the Ocean too, so no phone, not unless you want to call me ship-to-shore and bear the charges." So, how did you guys manage the time off?

We had a discussion last week when the bosses realized I would be gone for most of the month of May. We start traveling on May 2nd. My sister's wedding is that first weekend, and I am performing the ceremony. Then off to WDW and then the cruise.

They of course went into panic mode. But I reminded them that this has been on the calender for more than a year. They are now fine, but still trying to figure out how work will be done in my absence.
