Ok everyone...

Mini not so sort of rant here...

I had a bit of a breakdown this morning...

Work has become a nightmare in the short run... the financing for this trip may be caught up in the mess...

I woke up in imense pain this morning and had to take 2 straight painkillers (as opposed to 2 crooked ones :rotfl2: - see Nan...I'm still laughing...)

Ended up sleeping most of the morning....

Spoke with work @ 3ish... got lots of specs and info that I swear went not even in one ear, but fully around my head (the phrase "why is he telling me this crap" went through said brain several times...)

Got no real answer to the finances part... :sad2:

Got hung up on when he had to take another call...

Sat there and sincerely started to cry...

Decided to take a short walk because if I didn't I wouldn't see the sun again until Sunday (storms coming in for tomorrow and Saturday...)

Came back in.... took 1/2 of something to calm me down (sometimes the pain meds make me nuts...)

Curled up with Jeremy (see above picture)

And fell asleep watching MSNBC and all the election crap. (can you imagine the weird dreams I have when I'm on meds... add Chris Mathews...)

I'm a bit better tonight, but I still have to try and get an answer tomorrow about the cash... Friday isn't the best day to find that stuff out... banking closes early for them...

Oh and I have a Frosty from Wendy's in the freezer... a saving grace...

So... that's me for now...

Hoping to get back to using happier smilies very soon...

I need spring... Is it coming soon???

Michelle,

Not quite sure of what all the circumstance were but I hope things resolve for you very soon and that you are feeling better.

My side of this is Scots, Irish and English. Clan Maxwell

Doug

We are clan Stewart - but on my Mother's side of the family - her mother and then her mother - so it was hard for my cousin to trace. She is English so they spent a summer in Scotland researching. My tartan of choice is Hunting Stewart.....(not that I have been on a horse much!)

I'm freaking out about being gone for two weeks! I put that pressure on myself though. I don't think I could have pulled on any additional time.

With you on this one....Right now it seems everything must be accomplished from May 9-26th - So I am really stressing....The dates will slip, they always do but still.....

We have 6 or 7 kids within our group and we are 8pm dining. It works for us we are west coasters. We have to learn to fit the show in before dinner, that will be the trick for me.

That is our time of choice, it works well...You will be surprised how quickly you can dress when you have a show to catch.

Let us know what you think we should wear...I'm thinking of leaving the Ermine wrap at home though...

How could you even consider travelling without the summer furs? What's one more steamer truck? Remember style is everything.

Besides, one has a duty to set an example for the lower orders.

It's what's on the outside that counts, not what's on the inside.

Of all things, I'm now having difficulty finding people to sub for me and lead my Sunday WW meetings.

Last week, on a Friday night (of all things) at a WW staff meeting I met 2 women, both new who were all bubbly (I hate that) and were offering to sub for anyone when they needed it.

They both turned me down.

I would have thought these meetings would be snapped up, as they are 3 back-to-back Sunday meetings, which is easy to do, and a bit more lucrative.

I'll be missing 3 Sundays, and I only have a sub leader for 1 of the Sundays.

I'm now in a bit of a panic, casting about to find someone to take over the two uncovered Sundays for me.

On another WW note, the first week of our staff spring challenge is coming to an end. I have to weigh in on Sunday and send my weight to my WW boss.

My goal is to get back to goal in time for the cruise. Otherwise, I may need to pack a can of Crisco, a shoehorn and a roll of duct tape so I can get into the tuxes.

She is fine. Grouchy about wearing the brace. We found out that she will have a dance and vocal try out for her school play next week. We were hoping just for vocal...oh well.
Uh oh....her knee probably won't be ready for that will it? :scared:

When the nurse called this morning to check on my mom I asked her to thank the surgeon for the great job he did. Still no pain and we are more than 30 hours out of surgery. I need to head home tomorrow and I am feeling very comfortable doing that since she is doing so well and getting around with no problem. She soon will be ready to dance with the pirates again!

That's good news that she is doing so well.

Holly, sorry to hear about the interview not landing the job. Something will come, doors open and close and windows too, we never know what tomorrow will bring.
My thoughts exactly. But I desperately need the insurance coverage for Tyler's stuff, so hopefully something will come up soon. I'll be checking over the weekend and hopefully sending out a bunch of resumes on Monday. :thumbsup2

Yup, Spirit from DTW to MCO, I think we get in around 11:30am. :thumbsup2 2 of my former co-workers insist on getting is to and from the airport. :goodvibes They are so excited about how things turned out regarding the cruise, they wanted to be a part of things and experience Tyler's pre-cruise excitement all the way to the airport and also hear about it on the way home. GREAT friends, huh?! :grouphug:

Don't forget to pre buy your checked luggage. If not it will be $10 a piece, if you do it's only $5 a piece. They don't allow you any luggage allowance!

On a serious note. I'm interested in knowing how many of you managed to swing the time before and after the cruise?

It dawned on folks today that I was going to be gone for 2 weeks. I added, "Yeah, I'll be on a ship in the Ocean too, so no phone, not unless you want to call me ship-to-shore and bear the charges."

So, how did you guys manage the time off?

Have to be to work in 1/2 hour, and I'm still in my pajamas. Superquick showed and out the door. Will take me longest to pick out my jewelry because I got some new pieces in the mail yesterday -- my free selections from the party on Saturday. :yay: I'm gonna be very sparkly at work today! :woohoo: Free ALWAYS makes me happy!

Have a great day all! I won't be able to check from work because Fridays I work for the Energizer Bunny. :lmao:

I don't work outside the home but I can tell you right now my DH will be useless at work for a long time before we go. We took a ten day vacation last year and they sent him home early because he was annoying everyone!

:lmao: I wonder if I can work that plan for the Thursday before departure?

Many trips in a cat 10 and 11. I would think they would sit on the desk.

Perhaps they didn't have the over the door shoe holder? That sure helps keep the clutter down.

I wasn't going to bring mine this trip (being solo), but I think I will. Having your 'stuff' right by the door, in those clear pockets makes it way easier to remember what you need to take with you when heading to the pool, an excursion, etc. I'm sort of an out of sight, out of mind person (hence the clutter in my home office).

Hoping to get back to using happier smilies very soon...

::yes:: :grouphug:

I can't wait to ride nemo. I know it's nothing big, but it's new to me! AND I plan on doing tower of terror and california screamin' over and over and over again..no kid whining that they're done! Ah...disney w/o kids...could it be any better?!?!?

Have a wonderful time doing exactly what YOU want! I once sat on a bench on Main Street reading my book...it was a quiet week day in Feb and the Jacaranda trees were in bloom...it was heaven. Just the calm break needed after Indiana Jones and before heading over to CA for Tower of Terror! :scared1:

Well, think I'll head in to work an hour early, so I don't have to stay tonight...gotta squeeze in another hour or two of OT before my team-mate gets back. :thumbsup2

.....catch ya on the flipside!...

Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes to my husband after his operation. We are certainly looking forward to a better day tomorrow or at least in the near future. He has to go back some day to have the other knee done. Now that he knows how much pain is involved, it certainly won't be too easy to go back again.

I wish your husband a speedy recovery and please make sure he does therapy. He could develop pneumonia. This happened to my Mom. She had knee surgery and when she came home from the hospital all she did was stay in the bed and she developed pneumonia and died 4 weeks later.

One thing that really impresses us with your country is your praise of your forces fighting overseas. Whilst I realise not everyone will feel the same, we do get a feeling you value your troops.

In our country we are very bad at valuing our service personnel, but we have just reached a new low. One city, Peterborough, is close to an air force base, and the service personnel are being verbally abused when seen in uniform in the city because the abusers don't agree with our deploying troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.:sad2: So, they have been told not to wear uniform when out in the city!:confused3
