So, now that I've gotten inputs back from Calmom and pretty much of all the DISers, these are what our numbers look like today and this may be useful to some of the fishy teams:
Total # of DISer cabins: 134
Total # of DISer people: 352 (includes all adults and children)
Total # of DISer kids 17 and under: 107 (includes the two special needs boys)
Total # of cabins with fish extenders: 88
Total # of cabins still undecided regarding fish extenders: 12
Total # of cabins without fish extenders: 34
Again if you want to be on the master list and/or you want to know if you're on the list, PM me.
Thanks!
I've never seen David Sedaris, but have heard a lot of his monologues on This American Life . . . how does it remind you of him?
Sophia wants to start the Prisoner of Azkaban tonight, so time to start reading. Her aunt bought her the gerbils today too, and she can't leave them alone.
Forgot to mention that I did not shave the week I was off, but then trimmed it down to a goatee before Amy got back . . . she doesn't like it though. My hair is mostly black - probably 98% with just a few gray hairs, but this chin hair is about 50% gray. I think she thinks it makes me look too old.![]()
See you guys tomorrow - Alex and I are going to the Cavaliers game - an attorney friend invited me to their suite, and the girls can re-bond for a night.
Good night!
Great parents are certainly an asset for every child! Your kids are blessed!

I just don't like sad movies. When I feel bad I need comedies so I can laugh my head off! I really need to go to the comedy club. Next time Tyler goes to his dad's!
Just for you Holly, a quick shot with Photobooth - this should cheer you up, or scare the mice away! It will probably be gone by Monday.

On a serious note, parents should monitor their kid's internet activities and encourage safe practices.
There are predators out there, and, sadly, myspace has only recently started to block sex offenders from its site. CNN ArticleOnMySpace

DS, DDIL and DGS are headed to Anaheim tonight from their home in Lancaster. I got them a Priceline Hilton Suites room for $45 for the night. They plan on DL tomorrow. Weather report sounds like they will be doing DL in the rain, but they spent many years in Oregon so that should not slow them down!![]()

We have been watching Hitchcock on TCM channel today. North by Northwest then Psycho and now The Birds. The Birds creeps me out! It is almost over.![]()
so my sister dropped the bomb to my mom...her boyfriend bought a condo and she is moving in with him.
I seemto always be stuck in the middle...mom thinks I should convince her to stay home, sis thinks I should tell mom to lay off. My sister will be 23 next month and is not all that mature but goodness...my mom will just not let her go.
I know she and I are much different but I was 17 when I went to UF....lived in the dorm two semesters...moved in with a guy, moved to my own apt with two gal roomies, moved to another apt with three guy roomies....it is what it is. Let her make her own choices. IDK.
Champagne Girls picture.....group is gathering.....not sure where yet......at 4pm on date of PC crossing. We need a group picture. Don't forget to ask about this too please. Thanks.

I'll check. They bounce me around to somebody different each time I go, but hopefully somebody will listen to me. I'll call on Monday. I don't even know if that's my problem for sure, just a guess.
Holly....if you still have Bobby, hide his eyes for this post![]()
Got this today from a friend and thought I would pass it on....who would have thought bananas were studied this much!
Going Bananas!
A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression 'going bananas' is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on:
Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting.
After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.
But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression: According to a re cent survey undertaken by MIND amongs t people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, a nd lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at wor k leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
Temperature control: Many ot her cultures see bananas as a 'cooli ng' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet ca n cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!
Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!
So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, 'A banana a day keeps the doctor away!'
PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS
PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes? ? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...poli sh with dry cloth. Amazing fruit !
Okay, happy campers, have fun hitting post 3,000 while I am gone. No pirates for me!
Headed to a pedicure, then pick up Jamie at dance studio to take her to performing studio for rehearsal, then headed to movie theater to see "Juno" (wanted to see 27 Dresses, but doesn't work into the schedule), then headed to Utah Jazz Game to work in concessions booth to fundraise to help pay for the $2,850 Seth Riggs Vocal Workshop that is about a week long in L.A. at end of July for Jamie for her performing group. (that is $2,850 per student in the group!). However, his vocal camp is incredible and he has worked with some of the best in the industry. By the time I get Jamie out of high school and with all the dance, ballet, vocal, piano, violin, performing group lessons, trips, performance fees, solo choreographer fees, group fees, pictures, etc., etc.,
I COULD HAVE GONE ON AT LEAST 500 MORE DISNEY CRUISES!!!!! HECK, I COULD OWN ONE OF THE SHIPS BY NOW!![]()
I'm sure many more of you feel the same way too!
Thanks Nan... If I get nothing... can I come and hang out with you???
I have been looking for a few cute jewelry sets to wear with my dresses for dinner. I bought these the other day and they came in the mail today. I tried them on and I really love them! Another happy ebay ending.![]()

PJ - OK call me dense but I first heard it from Todd and put it off to his eccentrices (is that even a word?), he explained how it started in the dining room on a cruise. Then when I realized it came from the film - I just had to laugh - shows you how much I pay attention to movies huh? The worst part - my oldest DD is a POC fanatic and just looked at me and- saying - Mom! Your hopeless!
I guess this isn't going to be a nice, calm relaxing cruise is it?![]()
