Lisa, you're reading my mind!

(referring to "Shots Around the Ship")

Lisa,

I'm really not thinking that it will be that hard to find some folks for an after hours cocktail or two (or three ;)

Mike,

BTW I'm not a big wine drinker but it is a vacation after all. And I do so like the boat drinks :)

And we're not driving.

All sounds real good to me! Got home a little while ago after running some errands. Watching that Russell Crowe movie, 3:10 something? Just started...
Lisa

This Russell Crowe movie is pretty good...at the end now...

Ok....night all...and morning to you all on the other side of the pond!
Lisa

I have a reservation here for Cabo day - does anyone know how far the port is from Los Cabos??

Lisa

Lisa - this hotel is about 6 miles outside of town. It is relatively easy to get a taxi. You don't have to even walk all that far - where we dock form the tender - you just take a left where the stores are on the side and there is a "taxi stand" there are usually a couple of taxi vans there so you'll know where to go. To the right is the sidewalk to town.

It will take you about 15+ minutes to get there. Always negotiate before you get into the taxi. Most of the taxi drivers speak some english - many are friendly but please be prepared - they do drive a bit differently so don't get scared. DH and I spent a week there back in 2005 and we did many of those timeshare presentations. I believe we may have gone to this one. If its on the side of a cliff and you can go down where some rocks are - black rocks then its where we went.

Remember to allow enough time to return to the docks. Enjoy - it looks fantastic!

Thanks. I think we might do this, and just tell the kids no beach time since I hear it is rough. I'd like to get the points/stay, and the hotel looks great. Swim-up bar!

Good morning, and good night to some!!!!

On the way home from the circus Brent said he thought it was time to tell dh about the cruise. He has kept this secret for over a year now. He said there were things he needed to explain to dh before we go. So tomorrow is the day!

Exciting day planned then.:hyper:

I just showed Tyler the Hawaiian clothes on the site Deb & Marilyn posted the link for. Here's what he picked:

Very smart, Tyler.:thumbsup2

My Palos are still there!

But no room allocation obviously.:sad1:

We have been watching Hitchcock on TCM channel today. North by Northwest then Psycho and now The Birds. The Birds creeps me out! It is almost over. :scared:

Great day.:)

:rotfl: :lmao: Just what we need Ian...another darn list! :rotfl2:

Does anybody have a list of all the lists? :rotfl2: Oh yes, Pj, grand lister of all the lists.

OK, so not for potty training eh? I thought John was too old for that . . .

Noooooooo, too funny, never thought of that!:rotfl:

Periodically freezing up on me. Must be the 250 page limit and global warming . . .

:rotfl2:

How long before should we hire a tux?

Other things left to do.
One day car rental from WDW to the port.
Transfers from the San Pedro port to DL.
Transfers from DL to LAX.
?Stateroom gift or Shirley basket to order.
Online checkin.

Lots of shopping.
Lose loads of weight.

:rotfl2:

:scared1: NO! Not here too! :faint:

Sorry DrHug - more of a Huntington Beach type of girl - I've only been here a couple of times -all those times by the pier to take soccer pictures although I did see this awesome surf shop with some nice pirate: placards - might have to go back there and check them out. Also, a lot of Jamba Juice, Cold Stone and Baskin Robbins as well as a Chicago type pizza place. The Italian restaurant was still closed else I would have stopped there. Oh yeah - the police satellite on the pier was interesting enough. When that happen?

I attended Huntington Beach Elementary School. I was a Junior Oiler. :rotfl: Greatest Grade School I ever attended. At that time, it was the ONLY grade school in Huntington Beach. Can you imagine. I am really dating myself.

I always think David Sedaris when I see your avatar and have no idea why :confused3

Lisa, I take that as a HUGE compliment!

Though my avatar was not inspired by David Sedaris.

I can see the connection. I view him as an "Ian wannabe."

By the way, the photo series I did (which is where my avatar comes from) was done years before the Sedaris book "Dress Your Family in Cordoroy."

I rather like my photo series, there are about 2 dozen or so photos.

Now BIG points for anyone who knows who is in the photo...

OK, now I'm off to lead my 3 Sunday, Weight Watchers meetings (10 Steps to Success, Part 2)...

PS - Mrs. Bennett will be arriving in about a week. I'm very excited.

OK, you might as well know I'm a complete NPR geek. So here's another segment that I found funny. It's from This American Life, and it is John Hodgman (the PC guy from the Mac/PC commercials) telling about his odd encounters now that he is famous from commercials. You have to go to about 12:00 minutes to get to the Hodgman segment.
http://audio.thisamericanlife.org/p...o.thisamericanlife.org/player/customproxy.php

Okay, I will stop bothering you with my weird NPR humor now. ;)

That was GREAT! Very funny. If anyone else is going to listen...it starts at 8Minutes in.

:rotfl2:

Let's see for me it's:

Buy trip insurance
Remind sister and DBil regarding rides to/from airport and taking care of the cat!
Order Banfi from Karen
Decide about/order flowers for the stateroom
Organize/make list for Hyatt DIS meet/dinner
Send $ when FISH team is finalized
Assemble and ship (if we still can!) gift items
SHOP for new clothes at the last minute
and
Lose loads of weight! :rotfl2:

OK So.Cal residents and frequent DL visitors. Can somone please tell me the name of the (causal) Italian restaurant near DLR? It was really good! I remember it was north and east of the park. All I can come up with is Luigi's...which is the name of the pizza parlor we hung out at in high school...so I'm not trusting my memory on that one. I wanted to recommend it to those of you who are staying at DLR after the cruise.

Well, time for breakfast, which will be a cold pork chop...as once again, I'm out of supplies! :upsidedow

John1 - I love that you are reading those books to Sophie....my grandad used to do that when I was very young and I loved it.....although, I was begging him to read morning, noon and night.

Passports are in the safe in the loft so it is a bother!!!!

Our son Andrew has grown a beard and I don't like it!:crazy2: (Neither does his wife!)

OK....just googled the restaurant....it is Luigi's!

http://www.luigisditaliaoc.com/home.nxg

I can DEFINATELY recommend it. :thumbsup2

Also, if there is a group of you who would like to dine out together, Buca di Beppo is a good place for a large group of people.

And for those withougt wheels (or who don't want to spring for a taxi), there is a Mimi's Cafe just across the street from the park entrance on Harbor, to the north.

...ok...time to throw in a load of clothes and get back to my paperwork projects!
