On a serious note, parents should monitor their kid's internet activities and encourage safe practices.

There are predators out there, and, sadly, myspace has only recently started to block sex offenders from its site. CNN ArticleOnMySpace

Great advice for all. My nine year old does have a pc but net nanny and another parental control will not let her access many sites and myspace can wait YEARS before she will be allowed on there! All those dateline shows where 45 year old men show up to "romance"* 12 year old kids is downright creepy and sickening to me. The best net nanny of all though is me. She will never be allowed to spend hours behind closed doors on the pc. No way.

*romance used in place of the horrible words I cannot use on a family site.

We have been watching Hitchcock on TCM channel today. North by Northwest then Psycho and now The Birds. The Birds creeps me out! It is almost over.
I never get tired of classic Hitchcock.

I just showed Tyler the Hawaiian clothes on the site Deb & Marilyn posted the link for. Here's what he picked:

Tyler really does have good taste when it comes to putting together an outfit, he's great. I love this look that he picked out. Good Taste Tyler!

This time is different. This time you know the pitfalls and you know how to overcome them! :thumbsup2

.....and this time I have you showing me them.....and backing me up if it gets too hard. You really make all the difference for me Ang. How can I possibly express the thanks that I feel.

PJ - OK call me dense but I first heard it from Todd and put it off to his eccentrices (is that even a word?), he explained how it started in the dining room on a cruise. Then when I realized it came from the film - I just had to laugh - shows you how much I pay attention to movies huh? The worst part - my oldest DD is a POC fanatic and just looked at me and  - saying - Mom! Your hopeless!

I guess this isn't going to be a nice, calm relaxing cruise is it? :rotfl:

Laura, yes it was Todd that brought it to the Geeks, POC is his geekiness, lol. And yes it was an interesting night in the Dinning room, ah the memories. We use to greet each other in the DIS chat with the call and response, it was crazy seeing all the lines fly down the screen, :surfweb: .
You will have a blast on the ship, with and without the Todd craziness.

Pj

Deb, know for sure that those awful moments will get fewer, farther between, less intense and shorter. Stuff is getting better every day!! :)

I'm still not ready to give up my cherrios yet. It really works and I need to have them instead of the habit. But I'm glad there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I'll look forward to that day.

DH doesn't drink, so I was hoping I'd find a couple friends to enjoy a late night cocktail!!!! After the kids are in bed, I can sneek out and have a few! Can't have the kiddos seeing mommy sway back home! Anyone game?

ME!! DH isn't much of a drinker...I'm in for the cocktail. I'm sure we can get a few other's to join us! :drinking1

I don't know. I didn't know it was a re-make, so I guess it's the new one. It was in the new release section at the video store, so probably was the re-make. It was yucky.

But I just finished "Georgia Rule" and LOVED it! Made me cry. I usually hate movies that make me cry, but needed it today. Been so down the last couple months, I just can't get out of this funk. I think the real reason for my tiredness all the time and not wanting to go out with friends, memory loss, etc. is due to how down I've been, but have been in denial. Just overwhelmed with lots of things in life right now and not coping very well. I don't think my limited county health plan has any type of coverage for seeking counseling or anything, so I'll try to just set up appointments with the pastor at church.

My mom might come to town tomorrow but I don't want her to see the state of my house. Her criticism will add to my frustration I'm sure. Trying to force myself to clean, but just want to be on the couch and cry instead. What the heck is wrong with me?!

OK.....that was TMI! Sorry. Please don't think I'm nutso....just going through a rough patch.

 And as you have told others, THAT IS WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR!!

Unload whenever you need to. If we can help in any way, let us know. That's what "chosen family" is for.

Look!!! Synchronized swimming!!!

:confused3 I guess someone should fill me in on this . . .

Hello Marilyn . . . I told Amy, what I missed the most the last two weeks was adult interaction during non-work time. I loved all the time I spent with Sophia, but I had very few free moments of non-work time that was not occupied by either entertaining and amusing Sophia, or doing work around the house.

I got a great opportunity to get some things done that I wanted to get done, and I told Amy that when she goes away, when she returns I want the house to look better than when she left. I made good on my promise. Not a thing she had to do when she got home other than unpack. (I also told her if I go away on business again, she needs to reciprocate :rotfl2: )

OK, out to the snow now.

John... she will have the house just as clean as you did!!! :rotfl: And maybe a nice "surprise" too... ;)

Each lifeboat has a number so how about
LIFEBOAT SUITE 1
LIFEBOAT SUITE 2
LIFEBOAT SUITE 3
etc

Jan :earsgirl:

What?? No Walt Lifeboat??? No Roy Lifeboat???

I want the Lillian one... I hear it's decorated very nicely...:cloud9:

Thanks Angie! I'm not sure what my deal is. I can usually pull myself together and get through things, but this is the first time I'm not succeeding.

Not sure how old you are, but when I was in my 40s my PMS became PMS:headache:

Some good women freinds :grouphug: helped me to see that major mood drops could be related to major hormone drops as I was plunging headlong into menopause.

:cool1: As soon as I had that concept in my mind, I felt better. It is just life. Just female, hormonal life. Well, heck, I can handle THAT! And I did.

Your idea and the suggestions to contact the pastor are good ones. Women friends are good help also.:grouphug:

HANG IN THERE--YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH :thumbsup2

Jan :earsgirl:

This is so cute, your DH is very talented. :thumbsup2

Thank you, he thinks he is too!:worship: :rotfl2: No,seriously, he's only been doing this about a year, and he feels so good when peole likes what he does. I know he appreciates everyone's comments. Vicki

As I said before, we officially adopted Monica.

She's compelled to see us every time we're in WDW. It's one of those things where there it isn't a matter of free choice. Besides, we tempt her with new and exciting restaurants every time.

We're still sort of bizarre people though ...

Now I'm thinking of naming my Chumby Mrs Bennett.

Well, if you are bizarre...then you fit in just fine with all of us!!!

:rotfl: You keep saying this, so I'm starting to wonder if you both have a third eye or a tail or something like that! :lmao:

Mike Wizowski???? - wait that was one eye... sorry... :rotfl:

did you read Shirley's note on the main forum that they may stop letting us send boxes ahead of time. I sure hope not.

I'm shipping to the GF and taking from there...

Great minds think alike.
So far I had breakfast, showered, on my 4th load of laundry, and have run spy sweep and anti virus this morning. Caught about 15 bad guys! And, it's only 9:30 a.m.

Pedicure at 11 a.m. :thumbsup2

I got up...went out for breakfast (the BEST eggs Benny up here...) came home and took a nap... I'm gearing up for tomorrow night...

:grouphug: Holly, when I look back at our lives, out of the darkest times (and we all have them) good things have come that would never have happened had we not experienced those difficulties. :grouphug: Talk with you pastor and hang in there. All things pass........and then some new trouble replaces it. ;)

Thanks Angie! I'm not sure what my deal is. I can usually pull myself together and get through things, but this is the first time I'm not succeeding.

Holly there are always hugs here and you can count on us to listen anytime!!!! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

there are several movies I would like to see....including my hunka hunka Clooney in Michael Clayton....I still love his goofy look on Facts of Life. I can't wait for Horton Hears a Who to come out as well. Would like to take the girls to see that.

Hey...He's MY George Clooney.... :lovestruc

so one of the girls bags is full, I zipped it up and put it on the scale...it said 19lbs but it feels much heavier than that.

So that means you can take another 31 lbs of my crap right???

I just told my office manager yesterday about 6 appts for Tyler. 4 psychologist -- well, she actually only sees his dad & stepmom & me to tell us how to parent relative to his issues, one occupational therapist appt for the first session of his evaluatin for sensory integration disorder, and one pediatrician appt for follow up about the fluid in his ears to see whether she'll be sending us to the ENT for tubes. I think there are some others in there too.....the neurologist for another EEG early May to compare the seizure activity shown on the last EEG.

School: he actually had 3 good days last week. He might go weeks of having trouble every single day at school, but then suddenly have a good day or 2 thrown in. They now have an MSU student who is going through the special ed program working with him on certain behaviors. He has special one-on-one help during writing workshop every day, they find other options for him to do during gym class or other activities where they know he'll have meltdowns, and they have a special pillow thingy for him called a fidgit that's textured and squishy and he can fiddle with that during circle time in class and that helps him keep his hands off the other kids and keeps him more still. They're doing lots of extra things like that for him and they all seem to help. :thumbsup2

And to think his dad & stepmom want to pull him from that school and switch him to a different district. :sad2: I'll fight that one tooth and nail. Speaking of, that fight should be starting soon. Spring is when you apply for school of choice around here, so they've probably already filled out the application for the other school. They did this last year and I NEVER KNEW about it until I told him he was accepted to his current school and that's when his dad told me they'd applied at a different school for him, but since this one accepted him first he'd accept that. :sad2:

Some of your mood situation might be a build up of years and years of having to share custody and parenting. Sounds like the three adult minds are not always on the same page and that has got to be stressful.

You are doing a great job of putting Tyler's needs first. We are all so proud of you! Thanks from us on his behalf.:grouphug:

Jan :earsgirl:

pay no mind to my kids at dinner.....Samantha barely gets her seated and is begging to go to the club! She may be more apt to stay since we'll have the rock stars Sophie and Savannah at our table!!

Rock Stars??? PLEASE don't tell mine that, she already thinks she is a princess, and acts like a queen.

Of course I just thought the last post may indeed encourage the shoe talk . . .

Love all the dresses!! Boy, I want to go shopping seeing everyone's nice stuff. How many dresses is everyone bringing?? Will anyone wear a dress every night except Pirate night??

Makes a lot of sense...probably just that. Lisa

Yep a dress everynight - even my pirate costume is a dress!
