 And as you have told others, THAT IS WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR!!

Unload whenever you need to. If we can help in any way, let us know. That's what "chosen family" is for.

Thanks Jan.

Never swallow your bubble gum!

Sophia is asking me why I am laughing so hard!

Not sure how old you are, but when I was in my 40s my PMS became PMS:headache:

Some good women freinds :grouphug: helped me to see that major mood drops could be related to major hormone drops as I was plunging headlong into menopause.

:cool1: As soon as I had that concept in my mind, I felt better. It is just life. Just female, hormonal life. Well, heck, I can handle THAT! And I did.

Your idea and the suggestions to contact the pastor are good ones. Women friends are good help also.:grouphug:

HANG IN THERE--YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH :thumbsup2

Thanks Jan. Good reminder. I'm 37, but the doc at the women's clinic thinks things are happening early for me. Long story, won't go into the details, but I was having some crazy symptoms (all women who've been through it will know them) and the gyno asked how old my mom was when she started going through menopause. I told her I had no idea because we'd never had reason to discuss it, and she told me to ask and that if she went through it early, that's hereditary and is what's going on with me. So I asked my mom and she told me she started at age 36 with the exact same symptoms I was having, and was done by 40. Wow! Many women go through this for 15 years, so if I get the same good luck as her and only suffer for a few short years, I'll be very happy! So I was put on birth control pills to see if that would regulate things and all symptoms stopped.....AND I started losing weight.

But recently, the hot flashes came back, as well as skipping cycles for 3 months, so it's very possible this is just hormonal emotional problems. But this just feels more "down" than when I was having the mood swings. There's no swing, it's just down. I don't know....but having Tyler back home tonight lifted my spirits. He was so happy and smiley today! We had fun together.

ME!! DH isn't much of a drinker...I'm in for the cocktail. I'm sure we can get a few other's to join us!:drinking1

Count me in! The adult entertainment starts at 10PM in the front bar. Once I get the boys down, I will bring my mug and join everyone!:drinking1

 Thanks Deb, your words make sense. The good thing is that I do have the days Tyler's at his dad's when I get a break from struggling to pull myself together. He doesn't need to see me down and doesn't need the burden of even knowing "Mom is sad" because kids project everything onto themselves and think they're the cause of everything (at least the psychologist told us that last week). OK....I'm babbling incoherently again...sorry.

About school, this week was week 7 of my 2nd semester missed. I don't think I'll even be ready next semester to go back, but my goal is to return in the fall. All of the scholarships I've seen are for current students, meaning I'd have to be enrolled in classes. Since each class is about $3K, and I'd have to be paying cash, I can probably only swing coming up with money for one class, but if that's what I need to do to be enrolled so that I'm eligible to apply for scholarships, that's what I'm going to try to do! :thumbsup2 So at least I have a tentative starting point for getting myself back into school.

You are NOT "I'm babbling incoherently again". You are thinking as you type. You are processing emotions, experiences and information. If you cannot do that HERE with US then what are we here for?

Hang in there lady, you are doing well and you will be doing better soon.

Thanks for trusting us with your heart.

DH was working in WDW all last week - my payroll manager ended up in the hospital so I had to run payroll for the first time ever! A little scary, but got through it. DH is home now and we are about to pop our second bottle of Veuve Cliquot!! My favorite champagne!!! Such fun! Almost makes it worth him going away.

:dance3: :dance3:

I might not have to buy a pirate outfit now. Tyler and I were in my room, going through stuff in my closet, trying to find a particular video. I found boxes from when we moved here 2 years ago that I just shoved in the closet and never opened! Look out Freecycle, here I come! Tons of stuff to get rid of. Well, I pulled out some clothes I'd been saving for Tyler to grow into, but since I never opened that box after we moved here, they're now 2 sizes too small! :sad2: Anyway, the next thing I grabbed was the shirt from my pirate costume from last cruise! The skirt was black and red striped, but was shredded in the washer or dryer. We were both surprised that I still have the shirt! Now I'll keep my eyes open at 2nd hand shops for a skirt that looks piraty. Tyler has my skull necklace with his pirate stuff, and he has an extra pirate hat for me. :thumbsup2

I always think David Sedaris when I see your avatar and have no idea why :confused3

I've never seen David Sedaris, but have heard a lot of his monologues on This American Life . . . how does it remind you of him?

Sophia wants to start the Prisoner of Azkaban tonight, so time to start reading. Her aunt bought her the gerbils today too, and she can't leave them alone.

Forgot to mention that I did not shave the week I was off, but then trimmed it down to a goatee before Amy got back . . . she doesn't like it though. My hair is mostly black - probably 98% with just a few gray hairs, but this chin hair is about 50% gray. I think she thinks it makes me look too old.:rotfl2:

See you guys tomorrow - Alex and I are going to the Cavaliers game - an attorney friend invited me to their suite, and the girls can re-bond for a night.

Good night!

John, we need a picture of your new look!

Thanks. I think I'm getting to a place that is ok. I'm realizing that grandparents while they CAN be a great person in a child's life, they don't have to be. My kids have GREAT parents, and for them that will be good.:goodvibes

Great parents are certainly an asset for every child! Your kids are blessed!

Well, goodnight everybody. Can't stay awake any longer and have to get up early tomorrow. Busy day. Plan is church, then Chuck E. Cheese since we didn't go tonight, then watch my friends' 3 daughters jump at the Polar Plunge, then Tyler's homework, then hopefully his cruise countdown chain, then CLEAN & do laundry. If I can motivate myself. Feeling motivated right this second, so I hope it lasts. :thumbsup2

I just told my office manager yesterday about 6 appts for Tyler. 4 psychologist -- well, she actually only sees his dad & stepmom & me to tell us how to parent relative to his issues, one occupational therapist appt for the first session of his evaluatin for sensory integration disorder, and one pediatrician appt for follow up about the fluid in his ears to see whether she'll be sending us to the ENT for tubes. I think there are some others in there too.....the neurologist for another EEG early May to compare the seizure activity shown on the last EEG.

School: he actually had 3 good days last week. He might go weeks of having trouble every single day at school, but then suddenly have a good day or 2 thrown in. They now have an MSU student who is going through the special ed program working with him on certain behaviors. He has special one-on-one help during writing workshop every day, they find other options for him to do during gym class or other activities where they know he'll have meltdowns, and they have a special pillow thingy for him called a fidgit that's textured and squishy and he can fiddle with that during circle time in class and that helps him keep his hands off the other kids and keeps him more still. They're doing lots of extra things like that for him and they all seem to help. :thumbsup2

And to think his dad & stepmom want to pull him from that school and switch him to a different district. :sad2: I'll fight that one tooth and nail. Speaking of, that fight should be starting soon. Spring is when you apply for school of choice around here, so they've probably already filled out the application for the other school. They did this last year and I NEVER KNEW about it until I told him he was accepted to his current school and that's when his dad told me they'd applied at a different school for him, but since this one accepted him first he'd accept that. :sad2:

Holly,

Been there, done that, times 2. As a single father of two young men with Autism and mild/moderate and moderate/severe retardation, I can tell you that "this too shall pass." You are doing the right thing by focusing on what is best for your son. Most appointments I have are for the boys and they come in pairs, (never could get the two schools to even have the same vactation periods!) You and I can sit down sometime onboard and I can give you an attentive ear that has 20 years of thoughts and wisdom about special ed and making resources available. For now, continue to do as you are doing and hang in there! Hugs are always given freely to those who want and need them!

Hopefully you printed the ressies with Palo on them. If so, call DCL, you can fax them proof that you had them and they should reinstate them. If you did not print it out you are *OL. :rolleyes1

oh you know the freakey accountant keep all copies!!! I was looking at the ones I printed each time I made a ressie and asked myself why am I keeping each of these, I really just need to final that shows everything, but the pack ratter couldn't throw away the evidence.:lmao: :lmao:
