I'm in southern CA and we actually had the freeway shut down because of a mountain lion a couple of weeks ago!! And my sister, who is also here had three coyotes in her back yard - that is a little scary. Now they refuse to let their dog go outside!!

Seems like it wouldn't be a problem enough for a freeway to be shut down - unless you were in a convertible

I'm hoping Noel responds to Carol's letter. She was such a big poster here it is just too strange not to hear from her.
What with AuntyBrat disappearing and now Noel.......

I'm saddened and shocked to lose two key members of our family at the same time. Karen and Noel will surely be missed this trip. At least we will keep in touch with Karen, but Noel just can't be found and we don't know what happened. It's sad to lose them both on our trip. It's worse not knowing about Noel. Pixie Dust and prayers to both of them.

Well, the real problem was that someone hit it and killed it and it was HUGE! So they had to stop the fwy traffic while they waited to take it away. It was quite the news story! And of course it was on the busiest freeway ever!

I've skimmed the trip reports from the Med Repos and don't See any reference to this, so once again I'll ask, rather than sit and wonder!

On these longer cruises, do they offer more extensive (i.e. unlimited) internet access plans? I can't imagine going 2 whole weeks and only using 500 minutes between the 4 of us! YIKES!

The internet offered on the Eastbound Med Repo was all based on minutes - they did not offer an unlimited plan. And it was very slow.

The storm came in about 3 yesterday afternoon and then it just stalled over us. We got that lake effect snow and wind. THey actually closed the highways and there were 10 buses of school kids that got stuck in the snow and wind because it was white out conditions. They finally got the buses back to the school and on the 10 p.m. news the kids were having a great time because they got to spend the night in school and watched movies and then they slept in their classrooms and the teachers stayed up all night long monitoring the rooms to make sure no hanky panky was going on. 19 teachers and 300 elementary students. Guess sometimes it doesn't pay to live on the mountain! I had a hard time getting home myself.

They got over 2 feet of snow 30 minutes west of Salt Lake.

Okay, that's my update

I will NEVER complain about snow again! I can't even begin to imagine that much snow. I'd freak out of my kid couldn't get home from school and had to stay overnight!

No, I didn't say AuntyBrat wasn't cruising, just missing!!!

We don't know if Noel is cruising or not, she is not down on our linked dining page any more, but Carol was checking with her TA that we were still linked and the TA said Noel and John were down as still linked with what she was seeing.

So, we are none the wiser.

The young man, DAVID ARCHULETA, 16 years old that made the final 24 is from right here in Utah! He actually lives in Murray, which is within a 5 minute drive from our house. IN FACT, my daugher Jamie (15) knows David very well, they have the same voice teacher, and when David was about 7 or 8 years old, he was in the same performing group and they sang and danced together for a year. He is a really nice kid. Please vote for him! Thanks. We are hoping he does well.

He was one of our favorites from the first audition. We plan to vote for him!!

Interesting time this morning. Tyler's dad had to leave the psychologist appt. after only a few minutes, so it was just me with stepmom while Tyler played in another room. Turns out the Dr. didn't want him to come because she feels all of what needs to be done is give us parenting advice on how to deal with him and that his treatment will be with the occupational therapist. Surprisingly, and I didn't notice this until on my way home, I didn't get nervous or grumpy while being alone with stepmom. A bit of a confrontation in the parking lot, but nothing major. She wants us all to sit down over dinner some night and work out some sort of schedule for what to do when the school is closed for snow days. I told her, "No reason to have a sit down discussion over that, when school closes when he's with me, it's my problem, when school closes when he's at his dad's, that's his problem". After all, they only have 2 school days a week to worry about. Well, she didn't like that answer because they can't just miss work like my employer lets me, and she wants us all to discuss together what to do with him on those days. "No, it's not my responsibility to figure out what to do with him when he's at your house" was my response. That didn't go over well because I'm "not being a team player", etc. Whatever. Schools close in bad winter weather and parents have to suck it up and deal with it. Employers know that. Life goes on. So she told me she's going to have him call me and try to talk some sense into me. Allrighty then!

Then I asked Tyler if he'd like to go out for a special valentine's day lunch with me before school. He agreed....on the way there, I asked, "Tyler, will you be my valentine?" He told me "Never!" and then I told him I can't give special valentine treats or do valentine lunch with somebody who won't be my valentine. He didn't care and just wanted to get to school. Then when we passed Arby's he cried and asked why we weren't stopping. I actually had accidentally missed my turn and was in the process of turning back around, but with tears rolling down his face, he said, "I'm so, so sorry mom, I WANT to be your valentine now and spend special time with you!" I assured him we were turning back and everything was fine. Good grief! I thought only girls were supposed to be drama queens! All was fine, he loved his valentine gift, ate lunch, and fell asleep on the way to school. We actually had an hour to burn, so I drove around that whole time to let him get the rest he probably needs from being sick. Sleepy little guy.

Came home, watched some shows online, caught up here, and now I'm off to sleep for the rest of the day hopefully.

We're still in it! Well, actually I've been trying to retrieve my ressie since this post and all I see is fish! I thought I was making an improvement when the page finally went blank and then after a few minutes of that it asked me for my ressie again!!!

I try and check when I can!! So I give up for now!! Maybe I'll check again tomorrow!!! And just think I still have to wait until the 75 day mark to make any ressies!!! What a night that will be!!!! Oh well!!!!
