Lets just say not sure if we were that one because there are others on the boards that have had the same problem. When we went the villas were still new and other cruisers on the board were the ones saying to do that but they apparently were not in a villa that could be seen or they just never looked up! The people on deck 10 was not so bad - it was the man in the villa next to ours who kept peeping around the dividers!

I have posted on the issue on the main boards to warn others

Only place clothes come off now is in the Rassual room where I know the lock is locked from the inside!

I think I would have told him to quit peeking!!!! And people looked at us too, but only once. We had our suits on in the jacuzzi, but not for the shower part !!!

The report I read the couple were in a villa in port and took a while to realise they could be seen by folk on dry land!!!

Well, I booked through the website, and I would hope that they would not let you book a spa during the drill or at least not let me reschedule on board and this would definately be their fault. If the spa should be closed during the drill, then they should not accept reservations. If kids club closes before I am done, then I'll have tay come up to the spa and wait in the waiting area. I'll call dcl later and see what they say. I love the spa I booked. (ionic cellulite reduction). It evens out my skin look and makes me look less unappealing in my bathing suit . It's a great thing to have the first or 2nd day early on.

So we booked:
Stingray 11am Castaway
Aruba: Jeep on our own.
Acapulco: Dolphin Encounter 12:45 (a suprise for tays bday..so ssshhh)
PV: On our own
Cabo: On our own.

My daughter had specific requests for this cruise. NO EXCURSIONS. She was exhausted after the last cruise, so I figure we'll see what happens. If she is relaxed enough on board, I can always add on board. I'm not worried about specific excursions in those 2 ports. She says she'll spend all her time at Kids Club anyways. She asked me the other day if she could check in/out on her own this time. I told her that the first day, no, but once she got the lay of the land again, sure. I have my magnetic white board ready to go for notes.

I was successful yesterday in my shopping. Found 2 dresses for my upcoming events and they'll work just fine for the ship. Off to clean and do laundry.

Steph, I don't think the clubs will have opened by then. The CMs from the club are involved in the drill and the sail away party. If you have met some other DISers someone might be willing to take her to the sail away with them. DrHug and I would be more than happy to keep an eye on her since we will be at sail away already, but I don't know if she and you would be comfortable with that. As you know from prev. sail aways, the kids are on the Goofy Pool dancing and having a great time. Easy for us to keep an eye on her from deck 10 where we station ourselves.

I've tried to give him more popsicles, but he says he's tired of them and refuses (after 1 in the middle of the night and 1/2 this morning), but is doing fine drinking pedialyte & water. He wanted milk and the doc said that's fine if I water it down.

Bretty's temp was 103 when he woke up this morning....so I don't know why yesterday he stayed hovering around 101.....He is NOT on the tamiflu, so I guess he will run the full course I will vow to always get the flu shot for my family after this one!! I have 2 other boys that I pray will not get it!

I hope everyone that has this nasty bug gets rid of it quick...especially before the cruise!!

Oh no! This is some nasty crud, that's for sure. I really hope your other boys don't get it. NO FUN!

I think in the suites they will loose their deposit. I would think DCL would try to contact them before canceling.

If DCL's goal was to maximize profits, it would keep the original deposit, then re-sell the suite at a higher current price.

I spoke to them about this, no extensions, if a suite is not PIF, it's over.

We did not get called for the Cat.2, I did speak to them ahead of time, to verify.

In 2005, the PC cruises sold out right away and the prices skyrocketed. DCL jumped at any opportunity to resell cabins at the higher prices.

It looks like they are doing the same this year.

At least 5 of us faxed requests in addition to Noel's fax. The thought was get the room requested for as many people as expressed interest, we had to have names to request the room, switch names around when it came time (30 days out) after all cancelations (including Noel's who was just the co-orgainizer here with Kim) were sorted out. I guess I am not explaining this very well. Sorry. A second set of requests with the same names is just going to confuse DCL as much as it is confusing me. I would think that if they had lost their room they wouldn't even show up on our ressie. But considering all the DCL screwups recently it's possible that website hasn't handled pulling them out correctly. Also don't they have until today to pay up? Maybe after midnight the ressie will disappear.

PJ why don't you post that list on the board. it has been so long. Was it for 1 day 1 room or for 2 days....(14 people or 28 people?)

The room holds 14 and you need to be in touch 30 days before to get the reservation. I was told that no matter how early you faxed ...it is the ones that come in on the 30 day mark that are considered and no others. So if this list has already been faxed, it shouldn't make a difference. We will need to refax at the 30 day mark to be considered.

As Noel is in a suite....she might have a heads up to get this before those of us not in a suite. The dining group is very nice and I have dealt with them a number of times.

But, if we do not get to them on that 30 day mark...we will not get the room.

It has been a crazy day and I just had to post it. We we stayed at this Westin hotel with a few connecting rooms for my son's 10th birthday. It has an indoor pool. We had planned this for awhile. He invited 4 of his friends, and then my other sons - total of 8 boys. So this morning was as anyone would expect - crazy. 8 boys running around the rooms, playing Wii, fighting about computers, etc. Anyway, the hotel is next to the airport and my flight was at 10:48am (to go to my grandmother's service in MSP). Around 9:15, I started to gather my stuff and it was just insane trying to get out of the hotel rooms. But I got downstairs by 9:45 to get the 5 minute shuttle to the airport (it just so happened that the hotel we picked for the birthday party was a SFO hotel). I go downstairs, shuttle is late. Shuttle drives up, someone in front of them has car problems. ARGG. I get in the shuttle at 10am and arrive at 10:15 - 30 minutes to get to my gate. I get my ticket (have only carry-on luggage) and for the first time IN HISTORY misread my ticket. I see 34 - think it means gate 34. I go through 2 terminals (never really stopping to wonder why) and get to terminal 1 only be told 34 is my SEAT number and I need to go to terminal 3. I take the tram, cut through security, run to my gate - all in the matter of 20 minutes. Get to my gate exactly 10:38. And see my gate close. THEY WOULD NOT OPEN IT!! I thought I was going to lose it. I go to customer service, UNITED is all booked up for the rest of the day, have to get on a red-eye, I call my sister who is ms. travel guru and she has an American flight to go to MSP. She gets me on that flight for a beverevement fare, I'm sitting in her lounge, having a beer, and just about leave my gate. What a morning!


But I'm still so excited about our cruise. I got a Palo's dinner - later than I want, but still on the day I want. And a couple villa spa treatment. And signed up DH and the boys for the dolphin swim. I think we won't do much more. We will be doing this cruise with as little extra expenses as possible - (which means we will probably not do the spa thing, but still want to have it "just in case"). I don't care if we don't do a lot of $$ activities. I'm just still so happy to be going. So now, as I seat here sweating and red faced from running from one terminal to the other, waiting to go to a very, very sad service, I can actually smile. It will be tough. My grandmother was very well loved. I'm sure the whole town - I mean literally the whole town - will be there. It is nice to have this.

I'll try to touch base in the hotel tonight to find out what all is going on.
