Good morning all,
The adventure continues to prepare for the big V-day princess tea party, it's finally all coming together. My mom and her fiance are coming in for a week too, so all other work has come to a hault while we try to get the house in shape for company. We're in for great weather and plan to send it your way across the country.

Well I finally watched the 20/20 about Natalie. It was painful to watch.

Need to get online to decide about the excursions.

It really doesn't pay to go to work around here.

My job takes me to another city every week for Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Unfortunately I can't get on the Disboards during that time. As such, I get back home today and find that I am almost 75 pages behind!!

Well time to quit jabbering and get reading!! ;)

Has anyone done the math and figured out what the recommended tip is per person for the 15 days?

I searched and came up with about $11 per person per day, sound right?

I prepaid tips and they were $163.50 per person for the whole cruise. Not sure who gets what from Disney but that was the amount. I did that so I know it is done and then I can tip more for the great people I encounter once onboard.

There is a CM bus that takes them to Wal-Mart. We gave WM gift cards placed in tiny stockings to a few CMs when we sailed on Christmas. Otherwise, they LOVE extra cash above the recommended tip.

Ok I knew I had read Walmart and now hearing about the bus it all makes sense!

Well, that is a list. :cool1: Here is what I did...I just picked the most expensive thing of each that I wanted...like the biggest shutters package, the couples spa retreat thing etc and made my total pretty inflated. I figure if I get that amount, I'll be good, if not, there was room to lessen things. Looking at that I would think 1000.00 would cover almost all of it, don't you? Am I way off? I am horrible at these things, why did I step up to give an opinion?! :lmao:

Then add an extra $500 for all the limited edition items you weren't planning on buying, but are on the ship that you can't live without!;)

Thanks...I'm all crying b/c of my Grandmother, so I'm afraid my DH might not have a chance...

Pixie dust headed to you and your family. I'm sure you will be thinking of all the wonderful times you were able to spend with her. :wizard:

Much better this morning. Only 192 posts to catch up on!

Okay busy day. I still have no voice. Jamie (DD-15) competes tonight in solo dance competition at 6 p.m. and then have to drive like a madman back to Salt Lake City to get her to the Jonas Brothers Concert at 7 p.m.

Only 2 more months until she gets her driver's license! On one hand, that's great, on the other, I'll worry all the time!

Tonight I'm off to dinner w/ good friends at PF Changs - heard it's got good food, so eating a small amount at lunch to allow for more calories at dinner.
Tomorrow DirectTV is coming out btwn 8a-12n to install their dish - changed and decided to do a "bundle" through Verizon - should save me about $30/month plus I get to keep the 8 cents/min charge for my calls to my parents (Brighthouse wanted to charge 18 cents/min).

We love PF Chang! they have their menu and nutritional information on their website. Check out the Great Wall of China Cake nutrition info! Awfully tasty but make sure you have a bunch of people helping to eat it (over 2000 calories for one piece of cake!!!).

Lisa - I'm thinking about doing this since it's such a long cruise, and we should get to know each other pretty well over that time :rotfl2:

I've heard that calling cards, books (but we have that covered), maybe DVDs? If anyone can give me ideas I'd gladly take them. :thumbsup2

One of the things mentioned about this is that the crew don't have much storage space.

Good point!

I'm thinking about it, but haven't come up with anything yet. Ideas anyone:confused: ;)

On another thread I heard it was Walmart giftcards that had been given by some. I guess that is where they dash in Florida to buy their supplies.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking since it was a longer cruise of doing this. I was trying to think of something from CA - maybe See's chocolates and then a Walmart GC to go with it.

Any other ideas would be great!!

How would you give these to them? At the end of dinner the first night? The stateroom host I would leave on the bed when we went to dinner the first night.

No time to post or go into details, overswamped with work today, but........

just one thing to say......

ready?
