Hello, fairly frequent Disneyland guest here, but haven't been since Fall 2016. When I looked up ticket prices I saw something called the 'MaxPass' and I'm not clear on what it is.

First of all, does it work well? Does EACH person in your party have to have the app and get a FP or can one person have the app and get FPs for everyone in the group?

Can you still get the paper FPs by going to the attractions and inserting your ticket? If you can, are the MaxPass FPs linked to the physical machine FPs in any way? In other words, can you double up on FPs by using the app to get some, as well as physically walking to the machines to get some?

What advantages to the MaxPass are there besides the convenience of not having to walk to the machines? I heard you can get new ones sooner--in 90 minutes instead of 2 hours. Is that correct?

Does the app show the return times before you commit to getting them (in case you have dinner ressies then)?

Can you be in Disneyland and get FPs for California Adventure, or do you have to be in California Adventure to get California Adventure FPs? And vice versa with needing to be in Disneyland to get Disneyland tickets. If you go back to your hotel during the middle of the day can you still access and choose FPs for when you return?

Is there a limit to how many FPs you can get per day (like at Disney World)?

Finally, how do you get the MaxPass?? Do you get a code and instructions or is it on your ticket or what??

Anything else I should know?? Thank you so much!!

You can use one device for all people in your party.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

No limit, it’s just based on availability. And in reality there is not limit at WDW, it’s just based on how you play the FP+ system.

You get it through the Disneyland App.

Upload all your tickets onto the DL app. Name them as you upload them, you won’t get a 2nd chance to do that. After you enter the parks click get MaxPass and you will be able to purchase it for any tickets you have scanned into your app for that day. You then pick your first FP! We get so much more done with MP- we LOVE it. You can book for both parks no matter where you are. We found it easiest to have everyone download the app and login to the same DL account. But, we didn’t use it every day. After a couple days we were tired (it keeps you busy!) so we skipped it for day 3 & day 5 of our trip (that’s why I don’t like recommending people pre-buy it, you might not want it every day of your trip).

We found it great, making FPs for 90 min instead of 2 hrs. While in queue for a ride, make FP for another in either park. It also includes photopass.

Thanks everyone! I"m reading now that everyone gets a digital entry ticket regardless of MaxPass, so your entry ticket has a bar code and is linked to all the FP machines/FP system, whether you use the 'legacy' (regular) FP or MaxPass, so you CAN'T get FPs via both walking up to the machines as well as choosing them off your phones. If you get a physical 'reminder' ticket it will have the next time you can get your next FP and if you try to get it earlier via MaxPass it will know and deny the reservation. Oh well.

Each person pays $10/day.

You can’t get fp and maxpass to double up. You can go to the kiosk instead of using maxpass each time. So if only part of your family buys maxpass but you all want to go on toy story you could pull paper fp.
