Maximum of 10 days??

I am trying to get a quote on Disneyworld.com. When I type in 11 or 12 days, it says "This package can only be booked for a maximum of 10 days"
WHY!!!???

We want to go longer!
Can you really only stay in one resort for 10 days?
Can we move to another one then?
Or can a T.A. book us for 12 days?

When I booked our trip for the end of April this year it was for thirteen days and they could only give me an AP rate for ten days max, so we ended up doing two reservations. One reservation is for ten days and the next for three days and the CM just noted that it was a continuing reservation so hopefully we won't have to change cabins.

A package can not be booked for more than ten days. What they will do, if you wish to stay longer, is simply book multiple, back-to-back packages. Or, you could book a package for ten days, and 'room only' for the final, additional day or two. Depends whether or not you are wanting to add the DDP for your length of stay. If you are willing to pay out of pocket for meals over the last day or two, I'd personally go for the ten day package with ten day tickets that include the plus feature (this gives you ten days of major park admissions, plus the additional water park/DQ/PI admissions, which could easily be spread out over the 11 or 12 days of your stay), and then just book 'room only' for the remaining days.

These packages can be booked for at the same resort, and if so you probably would not be required to change rooms. Or, if you would like to try out different resorts, you can choose to 'resort hop' (split your stay between multiple, different resorts).

A TA would be able to book this for you, and help you decide what really is going to work best for you. Personally, we enjoyed working with our TA from 'The Magic For Less', as she was able to make all of our ADR's for us, and easily adjusted our ressies to take advantage of the best special offers/discounts as those became available. She took care of everything, so that I didn't have to worry. Much less stressful to just email our TA, as oppossed to waiting on hold to talk with a Disney CM myself every time I wanted to make any sort of adjustment to our vacation plans.

We go for more than 10 days and get combo packages that add up to the total days. It's no problem.

It does start to sound like kinda a pain....
maybe we should just do 10.
I guess it will depend on our flight times, that could make a difference, on whether we get half or full days once we land/depart.

10 should be enough right?
That gives us 2 days for waterparks, one for KSCenter, and either 6 or 7 for the parks. hmmmmmm......

I haven't seen you around lately!

When we go it's for 13 or 14 days, as we have a long drive down,
(plus, it's our one major $plurge for vacation!).
Yes, 10 days should be enough but it's really not
a problem to do more than one reservation.
We run into the same 10 day max issue,
so we just do as others suggested & book 2 reservations.
I've read lots of posts over the past couple of years
of DIS'rs making 3 and sometimes 4 reservations back to back
because of arriving in the more expensive season.
Just make sure that "continuing reservation" is clearly shown
on your reservation, and then remind the CM who checks you in.
Then, you simply have to go to the front desk on the morning
your first reservation ends & "check in" again.
It only took a minute for me.

eta: We did not have to change rooms,
and my understanding is that CM's do everything possible
to keep you in the same room through both/all reservations.

I haven't been around alot lately, been very busy. But now that we are planning a trip, I have been spending quite a bit of time on the WDW boards asking questions!!
Sounds easy enough to stay more then 10 days, I just don't know how confusing it will be with the free dining plan. Or if it will end up costing us a whole lot for the extra 2 days. I will crunch some numbers and see!

You can only book 10 days at a time....you can split and do 2 6 day stays...but Disney will only let you book a package for 10 days.

We were only allowed to book a 10 day package with AAA, so what we did is the night we arrived we are staying at POP and than the next day we are transfering over to CBR.

Just curious as I will NEVER be able to go for such a long trip , but if you have to do two packages to get more than 10 nights, do you have to pay two $200 deposits, or do you just pay the one $200 deposit?

I know from my package we only had to give one $200.00 deposit, but than again the Pop is room only.

We booked our trip room only w/AP discount.
I had to pay the first night's deposit for each reservation,
but because it was room only the good thing was
that if something happened I could cancel it 5 days before
and not lose the $$, and it wasn't the $200 a package requires,
it was the AP rate (w/code) + tax for 2 nights,
which actually wound up less than $200
(I think we paid $75/night + tax at ASMo last April).
