Maximum Number of People in a Photo?

There are 12 people in my husband's family going on a cruise in June 2019.
3 of the 4 rooms plan to buy photo packages.

That being said, will they limit the number of people that can be in one shot? I know "group" photography can be scheduled...but if we all show up for dinner and everyone moves fast, will they snap a picture of all of us together?

I saw this referenced in another thread, but no one stated the max (if known).

Thanks!

I've seen some fairly large families getting pictures taken in the atrium. I would say that if they can fit you in the frame, then they will take the shot. Having said that, please be courteous to the other people in line to not get 27 permutations of "all of the nieces and nephews together; now all of the left handed red-heads, etc."

They will definitely take a picture of as many people as you wish and put it in all three staterooms' packages.

We only had 9, but it was the same. If we wanted two or three groupings, we decided ahead of time and did rapid substitution, so as not to hold up the line. "OK, now grandma and the grandkids, now grandkids alone, go!" Start with the shot with the most people and then pull people out for the next shot. And as pp said, like 3 shots max.

At dinner most nights, they take pictures in pairs, so if you vary who you sit next to, you'll get some interesting combinations. Again, they will take group shots if you like. You can gather at one side of the table or such. Perhaps that would be a good time to get some "family unit" shots, so as to not cram too many people next to a table. They seem to have a bit more time at dinner though since no one is "waiting in line" for them.

When we had a group of 48 family members cruising together, we scheduled photographs in the atrium. We weren't holding up people in line -- they had different photographers. So yes, the smaller family groups were also part of the scheduled pictures.

We have had and will have 12 at a time on a DCL cruise and were able to get all in each official photo. Now, you can also include a mouse or two (or pirate) to the mix, they will be squeezed in. DCL photos spelled backwards is money$$, kinda. If you take your own camera, the cruise staff is glad to take a photo of all of you for free. Many guests will be glad to help with the photo if you need a shooter, too. Cruise on...

Hey, leave us left-handed red heads alone!
Yes, I really am.

This. If you just want one large group shot on the stairs (I do not think the OP was talking about the random backgrounds), I think it is fine if everyone can fit. But if you are going to want a zillion different combinations, it would probably be best to look into the private photo session.

Thanks all. For sure we don't want to be line hogs! I figured over the course of the trip, we'd be able to do exactly what some of the PPs suggested - mix up the groups, etc. to get different combinations at different events - but I wanted to snag at least a few full family pics.

We had 16 people take one photo with Rapunzel on our cruise this past Feb..

We just got off the Fantasy and there were 10 of us in the photo. Yes please be courteous of the folks behind you and have your arranged photos ready. We normally did the following. Our kids first as a whole, then my wife and I jumped in, then my sister's in law family jumped in, then my family exited leaving my sister in laws family, then my sister in law and husband jumped out leaving their kids last. Also prep your group beforehand of how the pictures will go so you can get in and out quickly.
