Yeah, well, 73% of those reviewers got it wrong. It happens sometimes--Star Wars Episode 2 got a 66% RT score.

While I enjoyed the Matrix sequels (not as much as the first one), this is an excellent point. Attack of the Clones was the worst.

If you don't like RT, Matrix 2 also had a 7.2 on IMDB. Let me guess, not a good source either? Lol

They gave Sharnado a 3.3 so for me, that's a more accurate assessment of that movie than a 78%.

I am a big fan of the first one but the 2nd and 3rd were absolute garbage. I can't believe they are making a 4th.

Matrix 1. Our EMP is the only defense against the machines.
Matrix 3. Oh hello. Now we have big guns on our ships. And what's with these stupid APUs? And how on earth did you design these to leave the operator of that machine out in the open to get the poop sliced out of him by the robotic things in less than a second?
You got to get that gate open kid. Wait a minute. All I do is shoot this chain and it pops open and let's everything in the place right in? Phew. Good thing we bumped off Cypher in the first one before he knew that huh? Oh and these robot things must have hated Mahony. They didn't even touch the kid. They're all just flying around the dock. You don't have to AGREE with "random message board opinion", but you do have to accept it...because it's just opinion. Neither of them are right or wrong (except to each other). You're opinion is also 100% correct (to you)...and 100% wrong (to someone else).

I don't think a whole lot of IMDB. It's the opinions of a bunch of folks like you or me and it can be gamed, like that article describes.

Rotten Tomatoes is fine but I don't let it dictate my opinion of a movie. I've seen movies that were rated highly that I disliked (like the Matrix sequels!), and vice versa.

Fair enough. I wasn't taking issue with people not liking Matrix 2. But there is a difference between not liking a movie and calling it absolute garbage, especially when the most used rating systems list it pretty high.

I’m a traditionalist. I won’t watch anything that Siskel & Ebert haven’t given two thumbs up. Coincidentally, the last movie I saw was She’s All That with Freddie Prince Jr.

Honestly? No. I form my own opinions when it comes to movies. There are lots of movies that were critically acclaimed that thought were awful. The Thin Red Line and Bohemian Rhapsody come to mind.

It might be a tad bit harsh, but I'd agree the 2nd and 3rd were major drop off's from the original. Granted sequels don't always live up to the first one, with the rare exceptions (Empire Strikes Back, Godfather II, Terminator 2, The Dark Knight), but those 2 were not good movies which was a shame b/c they had so much to build off of in the first one that if they did it right they maybe could have gotten two trilogies out of it and some spin-offs.
