Massachusetts Senators and Rice

I guess it depends on what college/area you are speaking about. Not here in Dallas/Denton.
I can think of a lot of college age kids who have no idea who their reps, senators, and/or governors are lol
Yes it is sad but some kids just don't give a crap.

And its not just college kids... there are a lot of 'full-grown adults' that have no clue, too. Having taught college, it just amazes me how many college kids have no idea how anything works- government, the banking system, the stock market, etc.... they just think it all magically appears, like WDW!!!

Best of luck to you in law school... you will do well!

Thank you. I still have 2.5 years of undergrad left lol
What did you teach in college?

Marketing and Advertising... I thought about law school when I was an undergrad, then decided against it- but I still think it would be pretty cool. My former business law professor from MA has been on Bill O'Reilly (I'm sure you don't like him... I love him) a lot as a 'legal expert'... I just think its so cool- she was a full time attorney, part time professor- never really thought of her as an 'expert', but I guess she really knows her stuff!!!

Theres gotta be a reason why we are the only state in the nation who LOST population. :smooth: You think talk radio is entertaining about this state....you should hear talk radio here in Massachusetts. Its very entertaining to the Bush supporters here too. :listen: :chat:

I AM a Bush supporter, and former New Englander who has heard more than my share of talk radio... as much as I am a self-professed 'political junkie', even I was sick of it...

In terms of losing population... besides politics, take a look at your weather!!!

There are other places that have worse weather than us. The reason we lost population was because our housing is insanely expensive.

Do people really think that? :earseek:
According to the exit polls, sadly the persistent stream of misinformation and deception convinced many people who voted for Bush that Iraq and Al Quaida were in on 9/11 together. They also believe that Kerry went to Nam with a plan to go to the most dangerous battlegrounds SO he could get wounded and get a medal and 40 years later run for President as a war hero.
It just goes to show: it doesn't matter how big the lie; if you tell it convincingly over and over, people will believe it.

After all, all those videotapes must have been doctored - Cheney never met Edwards before that debate - he said so and he is such a sober grownup.

We are soooo in trouble!

Jefferson said that the only way a democratic form of government could succeed was if the electorate was well educated. Uh oh!

It appears that Condi's confirmation will delayed for a full senate debate and roll call. See http://www.lightupthedarkness.org/blog/default.asp?view=plink&id=250
Rice’s quick confirmation by the full Senate on Thursday had been considered a formality, but Democrats who opposed the nomination were in negotiations with Senate leaders for a full floor debate and a roll-call vote. With most senators attending events surrounding Bush’s inauguration Thursday, those demands could delay Rice’s confirmation into next week, NBC News’ Ken Strickland reported.

“There are a number of Democrats not on the committee that want to have a chance to debate her nomination [for] a couple of hours,” Jim Manley, a spokesman for Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada, told The Associated Press later.

As though to highlight their protest over Rice, Manley said he expected that Democrats would quickly assent to confirmation Thursday of two other members of Bush’s second-term Cabinet: Mike Johans, nominated for agriculture secretary, and Margaret Spellings, named to take over as education secretary.

The Democratic maneuver surprised the White House, which had expected to have Rice in place shortly after Bush was sworn in Thursday for his second term. A spokesman told NBC News: “It’s troubling to see some in the Senate want to play politics with national security.”
The fact that the White House is surprised by this turn of events shows just how far out of touch with reality Bush is.
