First time poster on these boards so I apologies if that is an faq that I missed. Do they add MDAS or SWDAS to cruises through out the year or is it only the ones that are available on the website for the whole year? I ask because we have a 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise booked for April 25th I was hoping to get one of these days on our cruise but the only M/SWDAS cruises scheduled are for January and February. I'm just wondering if there is a chance they will add these to more cruises this year and we will get one on our cruise or if the date are already set for all the cruises this year. It seems strange that they only do them during January and February. Thanks in advance!

They do them in January/February because that is low season for the cruise. They are trying to find ways to drum up interest.

If history is a guide :

- they will not add new dates to those already announced for 2020
- they will limit SWDAS/MDAS to January, February and the first week of March when they convert the 2021 cruises in a few weeks

They used to do them in the fall, and for a longer period in the winter, but they scaled everything back in 2018. Those days are there to fill the ships. To do that, they wait 6 months after the cruises go on sale to convert the cruises then publicize them. Doing it closer to the cruise would not attract different guests than those interested in last-minute *GT/Florida/Military deals. DCL’s goal is to get full-fare cruisers. Extending the period also means keeping actors, sets and costumes onboard, all of which have extra costs.

I agree with Marc. In addition SW is offered only on the Fantasy and Marvel only on the Magic, so if you are looking for a particular theme, you need to book the correct ship.

Makes sense. Thank you for the info.

Good to know for when I book our next cruise. Thanks!

And this year, they don’t extend as far - we rescheduled because our original booking for the first week of March did not make the SWDAS cutoff.

They just released MDAS 2021 dates and the last one sails on March 6th 2021. Staying tuned for SWDAS dates.
