has anyone stayed at Harbour lake? I just booked it for April next year. I still am thinking about staying onsite at Disney... But it looks like Harbour lake has so many activities, I think my kids will really enjoy staying there. Anyone know what buildings have renovated rooms? Anyone else debate staying here vs disney resort? ( I think we will stay at poly or contemporary if we switch to a Disney resort). it might be nice to be on property since it will be a busier ( and we can book reservations earlier)? However... We are also thinking about having lots of down time this trip so I thought all the activities at Harbour lake would be nice. Thanks!

We stayed there a couple of years ago. It was great! My kids didn't want to leave. You can cancel those Disney tickets. After a couple of hours at MK, my kids were already begging to go back "to our vacation." Seriously.

If you insist on going to Disney, the resort is about a 20-30 minute drive depending on the traffic. If you plan to go to Disney every day, I would pick a closer resort, for example WBC.

This resort is closer to Sea World, so well-suited for a trip there or for a trip with lots of resort time.

As I said the last time you posted this question, I think you should first decide if you're going to Disney and how important it will be for you to have certain FPs. The Disney resorts offer the advantage of getting them 60 days out. You can go to the Theme Park Strategies forum for more FP info than you could ever digest! This may make the Disney resorts a better option, and Contemporary and Poly are both great. (I prefer Poly personally, but you will find tons of info on the Resorts forum.)

If you will be doing limited Disney or don't care about the FPs so much, Harbour Lake is a great option. (You can still get FPs 30 days out.) We went there for 3 short stays last year, and my kids (7 and 10) loved it. The pool and splash area are fun AND heated, plus there are lots of other activities and other children. You might want to consider a Sea World trip. Do Discovery Cove, Sea World, and Aquatica, plus hang at Harbour Lake. That would be an awesome trip!

We stayed there for our last trip, and the kids enjoyed it very much. We need our space, so we frankly can't afford the onsite option with what we enjoy for a place to stay. Travel for us was approx. 25 minutes door to door for most of the parks, obviously depending on traffic. That may seem like a lot, but according to reports of Disney transportation, it can take that long waiting for buses, etc.

I would recommend asking for a room away from the pool, if your kids go to bed before 11 (ish) as the pool area was fairly loud into the evening. Resort is compact enough that everything is in walking distance.

We've stayed there 4 times. We love it. It's really close to I4 and only took us 15 minutes tops when going to Disney. Take the Epcot exit no matter which park you're going to.

They have some fun activities. My kids favorites are when Gatorland comes (on Fridays I believe) and when the magician comes. They also have mini golf and campfires.

My kids love this resort! If you are going to have more downtime this is a great resort. So much to do for the kids. The little bar/restaurant has good food too!

Also as far as the refurbished units they should all be done by now
