Marriott called with offer

Is this legit? I got a call from a guy from Marriott offering me 4 nights at the Grand Vista for $199, good for a year. Just have to take their 90-minute vacation club presentation.

Go for it, they are low pressure presentations and the Grande Vista is a great resort.

We stayed at Marriott Cypress Harbour last year on that deal and opted for $100 Marriott Cheques instead of the ticket credit.

We loved it! Grande Vista looked beautiful, that is where we did the tour. If you need a two bedroom on that deal they put you over in Cypress Harbour instead of Grande Vista.

These offers are usually made to Marriott Reward members and are legitimate. For married couples both husband and wife must attend the timeshare presentation. Use is based on availability so you may have to be flexible in the dates that you go. Grande Vista is a very nice resort.

Yes, the offer is legit. However, the presentation will be more like 3 hours. This person makes a living trying to sell you vacation property so if you think the sales pressure is low, think again. Life is waaaaay too short. Spend the 3 hours with your family, not with a salesman.

Marriott does not do this.

Marriott is not in anyway at all Westgate or the other crooks.

We got a deal like this but turned it down from all the "horror" stories of friends of ours who got more than the bargained for from a "90 minute" sales presentation. How was your presentation? Was it high pressured? Was it truly only 90 minutes long?

I did the timeshare presentation there about two years ago and it went about 2 hours, pretty low-pressure and worth every penny! Where else can you stay in a 4* condo for essentially $25/night? I'd do it all over again given the chance. Yeah, it feels a bit uncomfortable for the second half of the presentation when you have to keep saying "not really interested" but for $50/hour and very cheap accommodations I can handle that.

It wasn't horrible but I probably wouldn't go to any again. We were there for for just over ninety minutes, but not by much, maybe a twenty minutes extra? That was only because the guy who was assigned to us couldn't find us in all their rooms.

We took the tour and came back and he gave us all the pricing info. we told him we weren't interested, he said okay just a minute. He brought over his boss and this guy offered us a lower price for the odd year deal they have. We said no thanks again and he said, okay thank you for your time, he signed the paper we needed to make sure the resort knew we did our required tour and that was it.

Our kids stayed in the "daycare" area and had a blast. That was one of the highlights of their trip

Also did this a couple years ago, toured GV and Horizons, got a Disney Dollars voucher. Think we were in the presentation for a good two hours, driving and such; fairly soft sell, not many follow up calls. They usually do not let you schedule it on check out day (too many no shows), so keep that in mind when planning. FWIW.

Yes we did it last year and Cypress Harbour was fantastic however for the presentation pray you don't get Sonny what's his name ( you'll know him by his 80's clothes and fake (even though it is Florida)tan. He used to be an "actor" and pulls out all his head shots to show you so that you will be so impressed you might buy. His face is the illustration for obnoxious in the dictionary. I told him I was NOT buying and finally he got the message but between thanking god and showing us his Saturday Night Fever head shots....well it was how can I put it nicely....actually FUN to say NO!

We've been called with this offer and turned it down. We are staying at Grande Vista for three days. I guess it depends how much your vacation time is worth to you and what your willing to do to save money. For us, we don't want to deal with business and "have I got a deal for you" while we're on vacation.

we did a Marriott one a few years ago and would do another one without any problem. It was really low pressure and we ejoyed seeing the resort. I am not sure it even lasted 90 minutes.

We just were at a presentation on Tuesday of this week. We got our offer through Starwood Resorts - the Sheraton Vistana Villages. We were nervous about the presentation but in the end, they CANNOT keep you more than the 90 minutes by Florida law and they give you your "gifts" (money or park tickets) when you check-in so you can use them before the presentation. We had a 2 bedroom condo, full kitchen, laundry, etc got 2 Dsiney park tickets, 2 Disney waterpark tickets, $30 in Planet Hollywood vouchers and 2 movie passes and for 4 nights, it was $449 plus tax!! Call Starwood Hotels and ask for the Touch of Magic Package on a Discover and Saty package. It's a 5 star resort - you won't be dissappointed!

As for the presentation, it's uncomfortable....you have to say no to about 3 different levels of staff. But if they see 0 interest, they let it go. They told us admittedly that most people go assuming they won't buy in. In fact, we ended up buying a 2 year option that we can get out of in 2 years - it's an amazing value if you go at least once a year, and like nice "home away from home" accommodations!

starwood is almost as bad as Westgate - don't compare them to Marriott.

once you say 'no' that is generally enough - but give them their 90 minutes.

been to 3 presentations at Marriott - they always finished in their time limit - when I say 'no' - did not have to talk to anyone else - and got what was promised.

Fairfield (now Wynham) was pretty hard core too.

Here is the link, we did it last May & it was FANTASTIC!!!! E stayed 4 nights in a 1 bdr villa for 199.00, took the tour lasted about 95 - 100 minutes we said no & we left for the MK!!!!

The resort is gorgeous, I would highly reccommend it!!!
