Is anyone married to someone who is a NON-Diser? By Non-Diser, I mean someone who does not share your abnormal enthusiasm for all that is magical (let alone a discussion board devoted to it)? Does anyone ever travel to WDW without the spouse because the spouse can't stand going there quite so often? If you are married to a non-Diser, how do you cope? Perhaps there needs to be a Forum for these people . . .

Well, opposites attract. DH refers to the DIS as my "cult".

I'm married to a non-Diser. He likes going to Disney World but doesn't like it as much as I do. We've been married 11 years so I guess opposites do indeed attract. :teeth:

DH LOVES WDW, but thinks I'm a little loopy with all my other Disney fixations. ;) But as the years go by, he's starting to "get it" a little I think. :teeth:

I've been married to my "non-diser" for almost 36 years. I go on almost all my trips to disney without him. Sometimes I go alone, sometimes with other relatives or friends. He would go with me if I really wanted him to and I do take him when there is something new there he might enjoy. But we get along fine this way, I am free to be me.

My DH likes Disney but would rather only go every 2-3 years. He does not mind me going when I want to. DD will be going with me next month while he goes hunting.

Yep, DH has been to Orlando once and that was enuf for him!

herc.

My DH is definately an non-diser. However, he is a golf fanatic, and the thought of golfing in January (when it is -20 in Minnesota) is enough of a draw for him!! Actually, I was able to convice him to buy DVC because of the golf discounts and the HH resort!!!!!

Good luck!

Denise :cheer2:

I'm married to a non-DISser and a general non Disney nut. He even grew up 2 miles from Disneyland, but it didn't seem to rub off on him. I have gone to WDW 4 times without him and will go again in the future. It's fun to go with him, but I've decided if he doesn't want to go that I can still go on occasion.

T&B

In 17 years DH has gone to D.L with us 1 time.
Spent about 3 or 4 hours each day @ park.
Then back to the room to the T.V & a beer.
He is happy to stay home with the pets.

Now can you believe the Co. he works for has conventions @.
Where else D.L.
Last year 4 days in September.
This year 4 days in September.
Big dummy complains the whole time.

I would love a 4 day trip to D.L.
All expenses paid.
Meeting till Noon.
Then free time @ the parks.
I can handle that.

Management have all the fun.

It's not really an "issue" with my DH...........but my DS(18) thinks I am loopy. He cracks me up when I mention something I "heard" or "learned" or whatever from my DIS'rs..............he then will tease me (0k, make fun of me and you allll)

DS as me: "Hey everyone! I wore a red dress today, what do you think?"

DS as DIS'rs: "That's great!, I wore a blue dress!"

DS as another DIS'r: " I too wore a red dress!"

DS as another DIS'er: "OMG! really! that is great! I bet you looked great in that red dress!"

haaaaaaa :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Little brat that he is..................

i had started a thread about this th eother day would you go without your DH and kids. My dh like disney but thinks im crazy nuts and calls the dis a cult that i love

we should start a support group :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My Dh has accused me of having a torrid affair with the mouse (see my tag). He wouldn't mind going to WDW with me but isn't crushed that he can't. He's just so/so about it. He refuses to let me have disney decor other than a couple of things I've picked up on my trips. Usually it's DSis and I going to WDW and Dh working overtime to finance it. That's why I love him. He works his butt off so I can continue this sick obsession!

My DH cant stand it. If he goes he needs to be their first thing in the morning so we can leave by noon. So now I mostly make my trips without him. In fact tomorrow I am taking my kids to the movies at DTD with the tickets that we got from disney visa.

My DH is not a Disney fan. So, my DD and I go for 1 week in June and then go to MNSSHP for a 3 day weekend.

However, my DH does go for MVMCP along with my sister (her DH is not a Disney fan either) and her family. We make that weekend a family affair.

When my DD and I are at WDW, my DH goes sailing. I'm not a sailing fan.

This thread is HYSTERICAL!!! My DH is DEFINITELY not a WDW fan! We have a 3 1/2 year old son who has been there 5 times already! We just had a new baby (she will be 3 mos on 8/23) and her first trip is in October! My son LOVES going to WDW and is obsessed with the monorail and the OLD WDW Vacation Planning Video! My DH calls is BRAINWASHING!!!!!!!!! He calls me and my on-line Disney Friends...DISNEY FREAKS. LOL...he would seriously be happy to NEVER go again, but he goes because he knows I love it so much and now we have kids. Believe me, he complains about it all the time. But then when we are there, he has a magical time. Especially now that we get to see it through the eyes of our DS (and soon through the eyes of our DD, too!!!)

We have been to WDW 11 times since 1997!!! And that was both me and my DH's FIRST trip to the mouse EVER!!!!! I've been an addict ever since! :earseek:

I do think it would be easier to be married to a Disney World fan, but oh well...I think I'll keep him. :love2:

My husband is not a Disney person. Yes, he doesn come with me to Disneyland since we go there as a family, but I'm sure he would rather go to a different theme park if he had the choice.
He doesn't mind me being on this board and such. :goodvibes

My BF hates amusement parks. He doesn't understand why adults have to go to them, when there is a whole world of mountains, lakes, and beaches to explore. I agree with him on all but Disney. He's never been there. We are going in October; I've conned him into spending some time with me at the Food & Wine festival but other than that he'll probably spend his time hanging around the pool or checking out Orlando.

*shrugs* Doesn't bother me. There's things he likes to do that I don't; we don't bug each other about it.

How can anyone not love WDW!??!!? None of us here on the DIS will ever understand that mentality. I guess that's what we all have in common here on the DIS. Gotta love the mouse!!
