Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

Brooke -

If you arrange a NYC DIS meet I am totally coming. Two hour train ride - I am so there!

Other than that I am not sure if I have missed updates or not. It's hard to tell when you can't see the darn pictures! :headache:

Hi ya Brook!

Glad to see you posting again! I've seen the DISmeet on a few different threads, and it really is fun to see everyone together! I have my first "official" DISmeet in October with "mousescrapper" aka Julie. I cannot wait!! I did have an "unofficial" DISmeet with jenseib aka Jen, but I just happened to notice her and Claire (Claire was wearing her awesome Marry Poppins outfit :goodvibes) on the bridge from France to the UK and asked her if she was "Jen" from the DIS Boards. I almost didn't do it.... She was very nice though, and we forgot to take a picture....oops.

I really would like to catch the Frontierland Hoedown, it looks like some spontaneous fun! Normally we don't see the Country Bear Jamboree every trip (we didn't in April) but I have a feeling we'll try it in October. I've been racking my brain for all of the fun toddler type activities we can do. We usually just go and ride whatever we want. Ch ch ch changes!

Hilarious about the Brazilian Tour Guide! So cool that she was fun!

I know!!! We were right next to photopass too. And I still can't beleive you recognized us.

Sounds GREAT! We will definitely plan something when Earl opens!

That stinks that you can't see the pics at work! :sad2: I am surprised they have SmugMug blocked, it's not very well known. Can you see Photobucket?

I know!!! We were right next to photopass too. And I still can't beleive you recognized us.

I would be so surprised if someone recognized me in the parks too!! It would be fun to have an impromptu meet though!

We left off as we hopped aboard a Beach Club / Yacht Club bus after our relaxed and fun morning at MK.

We got off at the Yacht Club and just wandered through

We had never been inside this resort before, but had been in the Beach Club many times. For some reason, I expected something similar to the Beach Club...but we saw

must-play-with-giant-globe!

So while the lobby has kind of a similar feel, it is completely different at the same time. It's very sophisticated and rich feeling to me - all the wood and wood colorings really give it that perfect nautical feeling! We both let out a "Wow!" after stepping in the doors.

We shortly stepped our way through the door across the lobby and back into the sunshine - ice cream from across the lagoon was calling our names. So we made our way back toward the Boardwalk and to the Screen Door shop.

See you in a month Yacht Club!!

I absolutely love this picture of Henry!

Someday we will rent one of those boats. Not for fishing like this crew, but just for cruising.

1210672878_AKbmH-L.jpg

I LOVE this area of the Epcot resorts. The palm trees, the water, the beautiful resorts...ahhhhh

He seems innocent, doesn't he?

Well, it was shortly before I took this picture when one of these CRAZY birds almost hit Joe! He was walking about 20 feet in front of me and one swooped down and practically landed on his HEAD. I burst out in laughter, but he completely freaked - and I don't blame him! It totally took him by surprise!

Inside the shop we went, and out we came with

1210680567_zE42A-L.jpg

Oh ya!

Those crazy birds were NOT giving up. They can spy a toddler from a mile away. A toddler drops food. Those birds KNOW it. I think they enjoyed about as much ice cream as Henry did!

1210682131_f8How-L.jpg

They seriously flooded the area as we sat there eating. They watched and squawked at us and would swoop down as soon as any piece dropped.

1210684625_URkZp-L.jpg

Look at those eyes, just waiting!

After we managed to dodge the birds (for the most part), and we wiped up our mess, we went to the arcade for a bit. We had purchased an arcade card on a previous trip and was still using it - I think we might even still have credits on it!!

Henry really enjoyed this little game, Jett Rider. It is a movie that played on the screen and the seat would rise and drop slightly and vibrate. Simple, but fun!

He shoots, he scores!

Around 1:00 we went back up to the room for nap time. Henry went down for a nap in no time flat. Joe and I hung out on the balcony, which is always enjoyable and peaceful. It got REALLY hot sitting out there in the middle of the day though, so I went in and back down to the Screen Door for some SHOPPING! I had stuff to buy for me, and to fill some requests from fellow DISers.

I only bought one thing for myself:

I love these. I measure foods very often to keep my portions in control, so if I'm doing that, the cups might as well be fun, right?!

Back in the room I took some information pictures with Magdalene (Flossbolna) in mind, but I'll share them here too. Magdalene is a new owner at BWV, so this was to help her have an idea of what the Studio offered.

4 glasses like this

1210706659_wKZr3-L.jpg

4 mugs. The Villas used to have TEENY mugs (or maybe they still do in the 1-bedrooms?), it's nice that these are a decent size.

1210707088_aBtqW-L.jpg

Paper bowls - but they are sturdy enough for milk and other liquids

1210707606_HfYjk-L.jpg

Paper plates - again sturdy enough for any food

1210708253_RoBC8-L.jpg

Plastic wear, a can opener and bottle opener.

Microwave info

At 4:00 PM we woke Henry up and headed outside to the boat dock...

Up next: A Little Cowboy and a Little Kung-Fu

I'll ride along with you :thumbsup2 Or I can pick you up. I don't mind driving in the city.

I absolutely love this picture of Henry!

I agree!:cutie:

One question for you. He has a necklace on, is that one of those tags that you can put information on? I've seen another TR with a child wearing one of them. It's a really clever idea and I will probably do this for Madelyn. TIA!

I know firsthand how horrible those birds can be! I grew up on the west coast and we would have to avoid these dive bombing creatures whenever we went to the beach or Sea World. I know it's not very nice, but we nickednamed them "rats with wings"!!:rotfl:

Wow Yacht Club looks amazing! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see more pics when you visit soon!

Aaw love the pics of Henry outside of Yacht Club - he looks soo cute! :cutie:

Oh no on Joe almost getting hit by one of those crazy birds  I can see how it would be funny to be the one watching the drama though!

Love your cups and measuring spoons purchase!

I love that photo of Henry too! He is such a little cutie.:goodvibes

It is amazing how different the Yacht and Beach Clubs are, isn't it? And yet similar at the same time. I liken it to two brothers - the familiarial resemblance is there, so you know they are related, but they each march to the beat of their own drum. The more mature and sophisticated older brother, and the wild and crazy party boy.

I like them both for different reasons. I loved staying at the Yacht Club on a solo visit during a conference when it was just me. However, when I am travelling with my family, I prefer to hang out in the more relaxed atmosphere of the Beach Club.;) Either way though, you can't go wrong

And of course, both brothers share that young, hot plaything called Stormalong Bay!:rotfl:

I feel like it has been forever since I have been on the boards!!! Love seeing you had some new updates!! That pic of Henry in front of BWV is just so so cute!!

Count me in for a NYC Dis meet too! Hey MEK I will meet you at the train station ;)

I swear I already replied to your comment - but I don't see it. So, if I already did, please disregard.

Otherwise...

I have heard that bathroom is very cute! It has little tiles on the wall too, right? I need to check it out, I've never been in there! How cute that is stays "Princess" - I hope they keep that with the new bathrooms!

Oh my gosh those took me forever to find. Some day I need to tag photos so I can find what I want faster. :rotfl:

I absolutely love this picture of Henry!

I love both of these.

1210684625_URkZp-L.jpg

Look at those eyes, just waiting!

Looks like he has done this before. All that ice cream has made him a bit pudgy.

A kind CM showed us a hidden Mickey on the big globe: it was somewhere in the South Pacific, I think.

Oh my beloved Yacht Club! I  that lobby. Just looking at pictures of it makes me feel relaxed and serene.

It's a bit fascinating how a duplicate layout can feel so very very different. Different decor, different mix, different vibe altogether!

Adorable picture of Henry. I'd be like one of those birds right now if I saw someone with a Mickey bar. I'd be all over it :goodvibes

We took those boats last December but over in the Seven Seas Lagoon. We booked the fireworks cruise and had the music pumped in. It was so nice to see the fireworks from a different perspective and the boat driver was so nice. She shared a bunch of interesting facts about the MK resorts I didn't previously know. It's so nice and I'd highly recommend!

Your little guy is so adorable!!!

Oh man...Disney birds seriously are like vultures! Last year my husband bought a funnel cake at Epcot...we sat down on this little ledge wall thing near Japan to enjoy it.

Soon ducks started surrounding us!!! I said "Well if we don't feed them they will give up and go away!" Or so I thought! One brave duck flew up and took the WHOLE thing plate and all right off of my husband's lap!!!! :scared1: He still talks about the fact that I didn't buy him another one! Ha! :lmao:

Hi Brook!

In my long quest to catch up, I picked your report first! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I will start from here with my comments but I wanted to say I loved your pic from the other night with the Brazilian tour guide! LOL

OK... I'm off to Liesa's report- wish me luck! :wizard:

Ah, the Yacht Club. No longer my favorite (supplanted by the Poly and the GF), but still one of the best places to be!

Also -- NYC DIS-meet -- I'm in!
