Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

I was disappointed to not be able to go to that DISmeet....we were at AK that day. What weird weather that morning! We had down pours at AK twice by 10am but then it was fine.

It's nice that your at Disney so long/often that you'll just leave the park on a whim for Mickey bars!

The bathroom behind PP is going away ??? :scared1::scared1: Good thing I took lots of pictures of the bathroom then. ;)

I did like "Princess" at the entrance.

I love all the updates Brook. Those pictures are amazing. I love all the different angles. I gotta try to do more of those types. Remind in August!~ :goodvibes

I went for a walk just a bit ago. BOY it's hot out and I came back all sweaty after a mile. I apologize in advance for how sweaty I will be in augst. :rolleyes1

Did the photopass guy take the one of Henry's hand. I love that picture.

What a fun Dismeet! I'm hoping to make it to a Dismeet one of these trips, you guys always look like you are having so much fun! :)

I'm glad that the rain stopped for you, and you were able to get such nice pictures!

Sounds like another go-with-the-flow morning, and great to have the time and freedom to keep honouring Henry's requests :)
And isn't it great how much we can learn from others trip reports - lots of changes can be tracked through everyone's photos, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who added the hoedown into their planning notes for the next trip!

What an awesome MK morning you guys had, I love the scenery pics by Crystal Palace and the pic of Henry holding the statue's hands..too cute!

Can't wait to hear about the Yacht Club

It was a great morning! We had zero agenda beyond the DIS meet, so it was fun to just wander and do whatever.

The Yacht Club...wow....I didn't peek at my next pictures, and I can't remember what I took, but I hope I snagged some good ones. If not, I will next month! :hyper:

Listening to that bus spiel just now made me so happy! ...And I just realized we probably won't hear it on our next trip, since we plan to boat to DHS then bus to WL, as opposed to bussing to MK, boating to WL, and then boating back to MK.

I had forgotten, but I think we went into that store! One of the CMs (I think she was a manager type because she wasn't in a costume) saw that my name was smudged on my birthday button, so she took it, wiped it off, and rewrote it on!

Oooohh that M&M cup looks yummy, that's definitely on my list of things to try!

I never noticed before, but yeah, that Jessie costume is a little scary! :scared1:

Such beautiful pictures in these updates-I really like this B&tB one. :goodvibes Can't wait to hear about your adventures at the Yacht Club!

Listening to the video made me tear up! I can't watch too many Disney videos between trips, otherwise I get a bit too wistful. Thankfully we have the August trip planned, so I won't go crazy! ;) That is a bummer about not getting to hear it! Maybe you'll just have to make a special trip.... the boats are a lovely way to go though too - I LOVE Disney boats!

Aren't those Main Street windows wonderful? I really liked the B&tB one too, they are actually moving in there - sooooo cool.

 WHAT?! You didn't get corn dog nuggets?! It makes me sad :'(

On another note...*grumble grumble* I love how it never fails when you go to Disney you find something new that you never knew happened before!

Oh don't worry. We have many days to go - Corn Dog Nuggets were devoured! ::yes::

And I agree - there is ALWAYS hidden magic at Disney! It's incredible!

Fun updates! I am sad about the sky way building but I suppose whatever improves traffic in Fantasyland will be a welcome change!

I think the DIS podcast mentioned the hoedown recently. It sounded like something the CMs might initiate when rainy to generate excitement and improve spirits. Very cute. Too funny H only had eyes for the candy. ;)

Great photos, as usual! :thumbsup2

I am a bit sad about the skyway building too! I hope the new one they start to build is equally as beautiful. I'm sure they will do a good job since Fantasyland seems to be a focus lately with all the plussing. The better traffic flow will be VERY welcomed!

That is a GREAT idea about the hoedown! Makes sense too - it was just after the rain had stopped. It really did improve my spirit, it was so fun!

Wuh-hoo! You're back! :yay: Great updates, what a nice, leisurely morning at MK. How was Minnesota?

I am!! It feels good to be back. Though, it would feel better to be back AND caught up on the DIS.

Minnesota was great! We drove ALL over the state, so I was completely exhausted, but it was wonderful to see friends and family. I'll be writing about it on my blog and will link here for those interested when I get it done!

Coming out of lurkdom to tell you how much I am enjoying your report. I am so jealous! Two weeks and then another trip in May and then again in August! You go Girl!

Sound like you are having a great time. I am so sad about the restrooms behind Peter Pan. Those were my favorite as after all it says Princess on the door (plus they never seem to have a line when I am there).

I also saw your picture with Jen and Anita on Jen's trip report. Looks like you had a great time at Cape May.

Looking forward to reading more!

:welcome: Thank you for posting!

I honestly cannot believe I am doing 3 trips in 7 months. We TRULY thought our 2 week trip would be IT for this year. I certainly don't mind the bonus trips though....!

I MUST check out those bathrooms in August before they disappear! I have heard they have cute tiles in them too? Maybe they will salvage some of it for the new bathrooms.

Cape May was DELISH. Seriously. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did since I'm not a seafood eater. Those crab legs though literally melted in your mouth - and the calamari. :faint: The Wigd clan broadened my horizons!

Eventually I will get to that TR too. :rolleyes1

It's so sweet, isn't it? Every time he sees that picture, or the one of the Partners Statue he says, "That man made Mickey's house!" He knows they both had a part - I've tried to teach him that one is Roy, the other is Walt, but that part doesn't stick. All well, he's got years to learn his Disney History, right??

First off, I hope your dad is feeling better soon!! I'll be definitely sending good thoughts your family's way! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing the bus spiel video! I loved hearing it!

I'm glad to see the new Casey's hot dogs were not terrible. I'd want to try the Chicago-style dog too!

Thank you! I'll keep everyone posted here too as I hear about him. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers SO much!

They weren't bad at all! The only reason I thought it wasn't fantastic is because I've had a REAL Chicago hot dog many times. I would certainly order this one again-even with the too-long-bun!

:yay: for DISmeets!

Not only did Joe fix the camera settings, it looks like he made the rain go away!

That hot dog looks pretty good with all those fixins'. Mmmmm.

Great pictures with the Roy & Minnie statue. I like the one with Henry's hand on theirs. :thumbsup2

And it was a fun one! So many people I couldn't keep track of who was who!

:rotfl2: about Joe making the rain go away! If only he had control over the weather....

Looks like a great day at MK despite the rain. The Dis meet looked like fun also. It will be interesting to see how Fantasyland ends up in general after all of the rehabs and new areas. I will be looking forward to seeing your future reports to keep me updated until my trip in Sept 2013...I decided thats when I want to go. LOL

It will be interesting to watch it all take shape! I'm very excited about it all. We obviously aren't a huge Princess house, BUT, we all still look forward to exploring those new areas and going on the rides. I think the meet and greet with Belle sounds incredible. And just to see Fantasyland all beautified with the trees...it will be so pretty!

2013 will be here before we know it! You have some serious willpower to be able to wait that long though...I'd be going bonkers. My wallet would like me a whole lot more though!

Matt is super jealous of Henry's jacket. He's been looking for a Tron jacket for ages but can never find one in his size!

Same with Joe! He found a hoodie one time (not zip up) and it just fit weird, so we passed on it. They are hard to find and almost non-existent now. Hopefully if the other movies are made our boys will get their jackets!

Wonderful morning in the MK even with the rain. That was one big DisMeet. I'm sorry to see the skyway building go.:sad2: I thought we had ridden it before but couldn't really remember. Michelle said we did it in 1999 when I took her and Brent for their first WDW trip. I'm a visual person so I'm having a hard time trying to picture how the are is going to look after all the changes.:confused3

I have a hard time imagining the area different too - and I've even seen mock drawings that people have done. It's just hard to wrap my head around! But, I think it will be improved.

I SO wish I would have gotten to ride the skyway! What a fun ride that must have been looking down on everyone.

Great update, Brook. Love the DIS meet...and too funny about Henry and his stickers. Your pictures are terrific!

Brook, I'd missed about 200 updates!

I love your pics of Main Street. I'm totally craving a hot dog now, even if itwasnt the greatest. And I had no idea they're getting rid of the Skyway...makes sense, and not like it's serving any purpose, but I'll miss it anyway.

I can't believe you get to go back again so soon! I am tickerless for the first time in ages...it's totally depressing.

You've been a busy bee with updates! :thumbsup2

You got some great photos and some that I have not seen before! I especially love the ones with three hands!!!

We stumbled into the Frontierland Howdown in January at about 9:50am. What great fun and characters that are a little more unusual!

Luvin the update and the fact that you got click happy. I'm always click happy. :goodvibes

Great updates, Brook! And you have reminded me of two very important things when travelling with a four year-old: lollipops and stickers! Again, why I didn't do more of this the last time is BEYOND me! Live and learn! :goodvibes

Love that photo with Henry's hand with Roy & Minnie's!!!:goodvibes

Sounds like a great day in the MK despite the rain. Can't believe how long you were able to stay out with Henry...what a trooper!:)

Good updates. Glad your Dad is doing a little better.

34 days left for me...............:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Is it too early to start packing?

Do you have any idea when 2013 dates will be released on the Disney cruise out of Galveston? PM me if you want to about it, if you don't want to take up space here. I'm thinking of going on a cruise summer 2013 if we can swing it. I'd like to book it far in advance so I can pay it out. I'll look into booking thru you if we do it. TIA.

Now back to reality :laundy:

Last night I met up with Nikki (NikkiLovesWDW!) and Christy (PopArtGal) in Manhattan for dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner. It was wonderful to meet those two lovely ladies and get to know them a bit better!

Toward the end of our meal Christy noticed there was a BRAZILIAN TOUR GROUP at Ellen's! :rotfl: They come to NYC first, then WDW - Joe and I saw them in Central Park yesterday too, all clad in their matching colors!

After our meal Nikki noticed the Guide, with the flag outside, and tried to snap a picture -but the guide caught her. Her first words were "I look ridiculous, don't I?" :lmao: The guide was incredibly nice and offered to pose for the pic, but then suggested we pose with her - so we all jumped in the shot!

She confirmed they were off to Disney World next, so, if you are in WDW next week, look for this guide!

Whew! Caught up!
I'm jumping in, newbie to your tr here. Great so far, and yeah I totally got "homesick" for Epcot.

Hi ya Brook!

Glad to see you posting again! I've seen the DISmeet on a few different threads, and it really is fun to see everyone together! I have my first "official" DISmeet in October with "mousescrapper" aka Julie. I cannot wait!! I did have an "unofficial" DISmeet with jenseib aka Jen, but I just happened to notice her and Claire (Claire was wearing her awesome Marry Poppins outfit :goodvibes) on the bridge from France to the UK and asked her if she was "Jen" from the DIS Boards. I almost didn't do it.... She was very nice though, and we forgot to take a picture....oops.

I really would like to catch the Frontierland Hoedown, it looks like some spontaneous fun! Normally we don't see the Country Bear Jamboree every trip (we didn't in April) but I have a feeling we'll try it in October. I've been racking my brain for all of the fun toddler type activities we can do. We usually just go and ride whatever we want. Ch ch ch changes!

Hilarious about the Brazilian Tour Guide! So cool that she was fun!
