Just had our dance recital last night and it was great. Had an excellent crowd. We had more people than we ever had in prior years.
My best friend is the owner and most of the dance school has known that her daughter's boyfriend was going to propose to her during the awards part of the recital. We had it all planned out. Bobbie (my friend) would start with the awards for 10 years & up. When she got to her DD's she said, "hang on we have to find your trophy". DD's boyfriend came out with the trophy, a rose and a box dressed in a suit. He gave her the trophy, the rose and said that he had her favorite things in the box. He bent down on one knee to open the box and brought out the ring box and proposed to her.
To say that she was surprised is putting it mildly. She said yes of course. It was so romantic.
Even those that knew it was going to happen had tears in their eyes.
On top of that, at intermission, the local tv station came by and interviewed Bobbie. She has been having recitals for 19 years and they have never done this before. We were shocked to hear they were there. So we ended up being on the 10'oclock news. Here is a link to the interview:

The dance pictured on the website was the pointe number which had 20 girls in it. It was done to the song Popcorn. The dancers in the video on stage were our babies. One of our babies has down syndrome and she did very well.
