marriage license?

We have just completed our marriage license via mail. We use the company Disney recommends http://www.sayidoweddingsinc.com/. Lynn was very helpful. After we paid our fee the documents were with us. It cost us $195.

The whole process was very simple, Lynn emailed us the marriage license to get notarized (this was the tricky part) .... England we found out does have that many notaries, and they all charge what they like.

The first one we called wanted £35 each signature :scared1: , if we wanted a seal (which we did) an extra £19 each :scared1: . We didn't go for this one.

We found one in Canterbury and he charged us £60 (actually he only charge £50, he found our it Trevor's birthday and refunded £10!) :cool1:

We posted it back to Lynn, who then takes it to the court and distributes it to our Wedding Planner and our Officant.

It is a costly process, but I recommend it. It is something we don't have to worry about now and we get another day in the parks to enjoy!

I am getting married March 18th. If I apply now through Brevard County do you think I would get the license in time before we leave? It would save alot of time.
We would have to get it notorized in PA corrrect and send it back and wait for the official license? Once we are married down the officiant signs it to make if official can we send it back to Oceola County or does it have to be Brevard country?

How do you get the FL ML for $10?

I can't really answer most of your ML questions- I'm sorry, we are in state. All I know is the priest is suppose to send it back for us.

You just request the $10 special certificate when you go in to apply. They print it off there and put your weddign date on it- again, it's not official, but it is cute and I felt it was "extra proof" we had applied just in case.

Ok, I like the idea of getting the marriage license ahead of time by mail through Brevard county court.

FYI...I emailed Oseaola county court with this ? and here is the answer they gave me.

"I will be getting married in Disney March 18, 2007. My question is if I apply through Brevard Country for the marriage license by mail can I return the marriage license after the ceremony to the Osceola court House? I wasn't sure if I could return it to any court or if it has to be the one in which I obtained the license. Thank you in advance for your help."

"Good Morning,
To answer your question, NO. The marriage license can be used in any Florida county but would need to be returned to the county it was issued in in order to be recorded. If you have any further questions, please let me know."

Thank you,

Karan Mikell
Recording Administrator
Osceola County Clerk of Courts

Just so you know, for $10 more you can purchase a commemorative Orlando, FL ML in addition to the regular one. It is not official, but one of the images on it is the Earful tower from MGM Studios! We got it just because it had a little Disney Magic to it!:goodvibes

When you get married at Disney, you also receive a Disney Fairy Tale Weddings wedding certificate. Does anyone know how this $10 Orlando certificate compares with the DFTW one? I figure the latter will have the Disney magic. I might have to photocopy it a bunch of times and put one in every room in the house! :rotfl:

I didn't even know you get a special DFTW ML! Thanks for the info. How exciting!!!!

It has at least Mickey on the certificate, but I don't know the rest of the details. I've only seen a photo of it because I'm not getting married for another three months. I'm sure other brides who've had their DFTW can tell you all about it!

I am getting married in August, and plan to mail for my lisence since I live in PA. How soon did you request the information? I guess once I get it the first part of the paper work I can fill that out and send it back, then I can just wait until the 60 day time frame to get the papers they send me back notarized, right?

I hate being the bearer of bad news, but they no longer give the wedding certificate. They only give the "gift" (The secret one, that some already know about)

Disneyjenny-

I am in PA (Quakertown) too. I am still debating if we should mail it in or go in person. I kind of don't want to miss out on going and applying for the license in person and take some pictures just to make it a little more special. Yes, mailing it will save time but I can't imagine it would take too long to apply in person.
