Tomorrow, it begins. We (my father and I) will begin the five-hour drive to Orlando at 11 AM, in our cozy Chevy pickup truck, with one of us packed in Diane von Furstenburg luggage, and the other with their clothes thrown in a laundry hamper. Guess which one is me...

We'll check in at the Hilton Garden Inn tomorrow afternoon, read the Setinal and have a soda in the room, ten go to bed in preperation for Wensday, our park day. Note that at this point, we don't know which park we're going to.:scared1: That night, we hit DTD and eat lunch with my aunt, who, as it turns out, will be at the House of Blues for a concert that night. Thrusday, we come home.

OUR CAST OF CHARECTERS:

:yoda: Dad-- He hates Disney...until we're actually there. Suprised me today by acting excited about our trip. Also suprised me by agreeing to make actual hotel reservations this year. What other surprises does he have in store?

 Aunt Brenda-- Huge Almond Brothers fan, but is actually going to HoB to see Billy Bob thorton. Who knew he sang?

:figment: Me-- Disney *****. My life goals are to publish a book, and own DVC. I am so thrilled to be going down there that I doubt I will get any sleep tonight! Luckilly, I have a travel planning DVD downstairs...

So, what park will we go to? How many carmel apples can we bring home from The Candy Cauldron? And, most importantly, can Billy Bob Thorton really sing? Find out next time....

Have a great time, my little fishy!

The mom

(who DID NOT DIE...but stayed home to clean and get ready for the start of schooling!)

Well, you ARE a fish out of water! Are you and Marlin getting along swimmingly? Do you miss me, the crown clown fish?

I miss you more than anything...more than birds that sing (even if only Cinderella can hear them!)

COME BACK ...I LOVE YOU!

Mom

On Tuesday, we got in the car around 11:30 and drove. And drove. And drove and drove and drove.....

Yawn. So, I got out my ipod and listened to almost every artist that has spawned from Disney Channel in the last two years, mixed in with a bit of the Muppets and Jimmy Buffett. By the time we were in Lake City, I was out like a light, and slept until we were about 45 minutes out of Orlando. Then, I watched the lack of scenery pass out my window, while listening to the rants of various ESPN commentators on the radio.

I never want to hear the name “Michel Vick” again!

I also noticed that all of the billboards from Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, and the like have been replaced with religon-based signs, some with anti-abortion messages and others reading things such as, “What part of 'thou shalt not' don't you understand?--God”

I felt like I'd been to church that day, without even getting out of my car!

We got lost on the way to our hotel, but found it pretty quickly, and settled in for a little while. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, and it was very nice. I watched the “Top 7 Must-Sees” channel, which I just love and no one else in my family can stand, and Dad read the papers. Here is our room:

After resting for a while, we went out to dinner at TGI Friday's. I had ribs and some cheddar mashed potatoes, which were good, and Dad had steak. Then, we went to Bargain World, and found a great bargain (hence the name, Bargain World). When we were done shopping until my dad dropped (about seven minutes), we went back to the hotel and went to bed, eager to get this party started!!!

P.S. That picture of the hotel room is the only picture we took. Is that sad, or what?:rotfl:
