He had been in rehab for awhile about 3 years ago. We don't know that he still wasn't getting help that wasn't made public.

Its very sad, but you are right. We don't know that he wasn't getting help. Sometimes it is just impossible to prevent a suicide, despite everyone's best efforts. The Osmonds always seemed like a nice family. I grew up watching them.

OMG how horrible! I feel so sad for Marie who's suffered with bouts of depression herself. What the hell is going on with the young people today?? It's not just the celebrity families, either. Is society putting so much pressure on them to "succeed" that they turn to drugs and hopelessness? I'm just wondering if he was clinically/chemically depressed or just in a blue funk that became overwhelming. Sad sad sad.

Celebritys' children seem to be more vulnerable to life circumstances. Look at: Art Linkletter-his daughter jumped to her death
Steve & Eydie Gorme-has a child killed
Mary Tyler Moore- her son shot himself - ruled accidental
Dean Martin's son - jet crash killed him
Bill Cosby's son - shot as he changed a tire by the side of the road
Bing Crosby - 2 of his sons committed suicide.

I'm sure there are others.
