Margarita Madness - I need your help!

So, DH's birthday is in a week, and I'm throwing a Margaritaville Party (ala - Jimmy Buffet). I purchased this
Margaritaville Blender that we've both been drooling after

I need more ideas! It's going to be outside.

Palm trees, tropical fish lights, squirt guns, beach balls, blowing bubbles. Ocean surf cd on one cd player for background noise, jimmy buffett cd on another player for music. I don't like frozen margarita's so make sure you have to the stuff for making it on the rocks!

I know people make those wood signs for a Margaritaville party! Have you ever seen them they are fun!

How about some Sammy Hagar CABO WABO, when the party heats up...
I do know Sammy has his own tequila, I never had it, but it would be a fun and interesting thing to try his drinks.
Just a thought.

party favors for the adults-little mesh bags (like the ones you get jordan almonds in at weddings) with a couple of alka seltzers, asprins and ear plugs for the next day

get a kiddie pool and fill it with ice to put non blended drinks into.

maybe gift dh ahead of time with a tacky tropical shirt (think walmart-the kind with all kinds of mixed drinks printed on it) to wear for the occasion.

Love the blender!

Last summer we had a themed bridal shower for my cousin and it turned out really nice. Some ideas for you would be lei's for guests, themed food of course, we cut a whale out of a watermelon and filled it with fruit salad, I compiled a great CD of songs found on itunes, would be happy to send you a copy if you think you would recieve it in time- let me know. We also found cute inexpensive plastic margarita glasses ($1), filled them with sweedish fish and toppped it with a paper umbrella and gave them as favors, plus they could use them for their margaritas. They turned out really cute, I will post a pic when I get home later this am.

We had a beach party and had koozies from Oriental Trading that looked like Hawaiian shirts. They were a real hit!

Lighting!!! You can have lots of fun decorating with rope lights, hanging paper lanterns, and definitely the torches someone already mentioned. I remember seeing lights in the shape of flamingos somewhere once too.

If you're going for tropical, you can also decorate with pineapples and coconuts and flowers. Set out a yard flamingo with sunglasses on if you want a kitschy touch. I love the idea of a watermelon made into a whale!

Oh my gosh! Those are awesome ideas. I have to find the tiki torches and I would love to find the flamingo lights! I will definitely go to the store to get the hawaiian shirt.

flip flops! everyone needs them. (ref. I blew out my flip-flop) the margaritaville web site has a whole section on them. Not saying you should order them from there, just maybe have lots of them on hand....guests favors maybe?
