We were there two years ago with my 6yo nephew and it was fine. He had a great time catching beads and seeing all the floats. It is nothing like New Orleans - no flashers or anything like that. Yall will have a great time.
Thanks hope to see you there also! Glad to hear this a tame event! I will love hearing K.C and the shunshine band!Words i can sing a song too! memories!!!!!!!!!
the sad thing about new orleans mardi gras is that it is the visitors who make it look bad. i have known of very few locals who flash at parades or urinate on bourbon street.....visitors hear the stories and seem to think its ok....
kinda makes me mad....cuz it makes our great city look bad!!
As a native New Orleanian who is bringing three small children to a parade today, I have to agree that New Orleans gets a bad rap!!!
The only place you will see that "stuff" going on - for the most part - is in the French Quarter. I have seen many a tourist and I do say tourist because MOST of the time it is NOT the locals - exposing themselves and being asked not to do so by our wonderful NOPD.
I know this is off topic, but I had to clarify, because our city gets a bad enough rap about the things that are accurate without having to defend the things that are not.
That having been said - I do agree that Universal is a family oriented place where you will not see that kind of thing - but hey - you won't see it in New Orleans either - if you know where to go!
