Just wanted to stop in and say Hello Marcia! I hope to get to know you thru our posts over this year and then we will get to meet at the Marathon! Are you going to do the 1/2 or the full marathon? RUNNING????? It sounds like you are a runner? I am just hoping to be able to WALK. I am so out of shape -- but I'm hoping beyond hope that this marathon is the inspiration I need to get on track. The treadmill is coming in to site this week and I will 'slowly' start building up my endurance on it. Until then -- I will let YOU be my inspiration.:sunny:
 
good morning all! it's another beautiful day here in nj :sunny:

beth, holly, tracy, amanda, doe, angela, val, jody - hi guys!!! thank you all for your support :grouphug:

and jody - i can't wait for the disney half marathon!!! i'll be running it (the half)! i'm so excited! i can't wait to meet everyone!!! we're going to have a blast!

oh, so i didn't run this morning. last night, i felt like i was up every hour on the hour blowing my nose. lots of gunk stuck up there apparently. isn't nyquil the nightime take away everything so you can sleep medicine? guess it didn't work last night. oh well. when the alarm went off at 6:15, i decided 1.5 more hours of sleep sounded good. i'll run outside after work. there will be just enough daylight left to get home before it's too dark.

tomorrow i don't have an option. i *have* to run in the morning. tomorrow is the day once every 2 weeks that i don't have a choice but to stay late at work. i think it's supposed to rain (bummer!), so thank goodness the gym at work is open this week. i may have a date with the treadmill. let's hope the rain doesn't come, i'd love to be able to run outside :)

my head and nose are still stuffy, so i'm taking my dayquil and my orange juice at regular intervals. i think we're running out of oj though, i'm going to have to run to the grocery store at some point. still not all that hungry. funny how just the idea of certain foods is upsetting my stomach. i'm pretty much sticking to breads, oatmeal, peanut butter, and bananas. although, i could do some chicken plain or in a light sauce (like last night's frozen dinner). probably have another frozen dinner tonight. i had planned on trying to do a morningstar pattie sandwich for breakfast this morning, but i just couldn't do it. the idea of sausage isn't too appealing right now. i guess i'll just stick to pretty plain things till i can kick this thing.

funny tidbit - i was thinking about using extra points on a cadbury egg one of these past days. but then i was realizing that since i can't really taste, it would be an utter waste. what a shame :)

vitamins taken with breakfast. 2 tumblers of water complete, working on 3rd.

Hi Marcia!

I'm just checking on you. I hope your cold is just about over with. How wonderful that you keep exercising through it. I couldn't imagine running like you do. I hope to be able to build up to the level you are at someday.

Take care of yourself and I hope your run outside felt as good as the one on the treadmill. :)
 
Hi marcia! Hope that cold goes away, you do well enough on the WW plan you don't need a cold to help you with that, and your exercising is great keep it up, I don't think I would be able to do that if I was sick.

Good plan w/ the oj it has lots of Vitamin C, but be careful there is a such thing as Vitamin C poisoning (having too much) I don't think you have to worry too much though, I didn't know about it until a few weeks ago, just thought I would pass it on.

Keep up the good work, we're all here for you incase you need us.

Your week looks good, considering how you are feeling. I know I usually don't eat too much with a cold - I can't taste anything anyhow!:crazy: No sense wasting good pts on a Cadbury egg when you can't even taste the darn thing!:teeth: Make sure you get some good nutrition though if you are continuing to run. Don't want you to get worse!!!:(

I hope your run tonight is nice! Take it easy when you get home. Put your feet up and watch AI. (I didn't think anyone was aparticular stand out last night. What'd you think?)

lisa - thanks for checking in on me :). and i'm sure you could build up to running just like i do if you wanted to. it's all a matter of deciding to do something, and just sticking to it. you can do anything you put your mind to :)

:earsboy: princess: - so good to hear from you! i know you've been busy, but it's good to know that you're still doing well :). vitamin c poisoning, how crazy! who woulda thunk you could have too much! i think i'm okay with the amount i'm having though, but i'll remember that :)

sharon - i'm doing my best to kick this cold, and like i said on your journal, i'm on my way for your scale :p . i'm doing the best i can with my food. really just not hungry, and having problems with certain foods, so i'm trying to make up for it by eating nutritious stuff, or drinking nutritious stuff. it's working so far. had anotehr great run tonight :teeth: . oh yeah, and i will surely be watching ai. i posted this on your journal too, but nobody seemed really good. although, there were a few that i thought were really bad! how sad. it'll be interesting to see who gets through ::yes::


so i had another good day. the cold is hanging, but it's not really too bad. just making me not want to eat. other than that, and blowing my nose every 2 seconds, it hasn't affected me too bad. ran 3.25 miles, felt real good, and walked 15 minutes. it was so nice out! got home just around when there wasn't enough light left. so it worked out well. tomorrow, i'll be doing the gym in the morning, because of the threat of rain.

b: pb/banana oatmeal + 1 cup orange juice = 5.5
s: cup carrots = 0
l: lc bagel + 1 tbsp pb + 1 tbsp sf preserves + 1/2 banana + 3/4 cup oj = 6.5
s: 2 malted milk eggs + pria bar = 3
s: hot cocoa w/water = 0
d: homemade soup w/chicken, brown rice, broccoli = 5
s: 2 slices light wheat + 1 tbsp pb + 1/2 banana = 4

total: 24

goal was 24, 20 day on wendie, plus 4 aps. havne't actually had the pb/banana sandwich yet. will do that soon. we ran out of oj, hence why i only had 3/4 cup at lunch in stead of a full cup. hopefully, i'll be able to get to the store at some point tomorrow. but it's a long day, starting with a run before working, and ending with work around 7. we'll see.

ok, ai starts in about 10 minutes. i'm gonna go make my sandwich and get situated. oh man, tomorrow is a 30 point day! 25 day on wendie, plus 5 aps. that's a lot. i think i may make a wrap with chicken for lunch and add some ranch dressing to it. that'll add points quick. not sure about dinner. i've got a lot of points to work with. i'll get them in!

Having to blow your nose every 2 seconds sure makes you appreciate those soft Kleenex, doesn't it? Hope that you're feeling even better this morning. Maybe you'll have that darned thing completely out of your system by this weekend. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! ::yes::

Wise decision to not waste the points on a Cadbury egg. You must be able to taste and savor those...especially the caramel ones! I'm going to have to stay away from the Easter candy aisle this year. Those things are too tempting for me to avoid!

You're quite a motivating person....if you can run while you're sick, then surely I can get on the treadmill if I'm tired. Thanks for the boost!

Hi Marcia, you have been so supportive on my journal I thoght I'd come support you on yours. :D That is great that you are keeping up with the exercise even when you have a cold!! I always find it really hard to be motivated to exercise when I'm not feeling good but often times when I push myself to do it I find I feel a little better afterwards!

So you are a runner, are you running the 1/2 marathon or walking it? On the weekend when I added some jogging to my first outdoor walk of the season I had shin pain for a few days afterwards. Do you think I'm overdoing it or do my shins just need to get used to the different motion of jogging? I'd really like to be able to walk/jog the 1/2 marathon. Any tips you can give me on this would be great!

Keep up the great work and I hope your cold goes away quickly!! Sending you som pixie dust :wizard: and sunshine :sunny: to chase those germs away!

Let me say that I'm one of many standing here in awe of your dedication to running--even when you're sick--but as someone old enough to be your mother (OK, a young mother :p ), I have to ask the question: "Are you sure you should be running when you're sick?" Pace yourself, honey, 'cause I want you to get better fast before all the Cadbury eggs are gone. :p

I'll add to the refrain - I truly do hope you're feeling better today! ::yes:: I also hope you've invested in the really good tissues with lotion - they are a MUST when you're using so many (voice of experience talking :p ).

Hope your run went well this morning and you can survive those long work hours today! Your chicken ranch wrap sounds like a yummy lunch!!

Have you done anything with goal 5 yet? Maybe you'll find time today since you're stuck there until 7 PM. ::yes::

oh no. i just had a really long post all typed out, addressing each and every one of you that had posted to my journal, and i went to hit "post" and it told me i had too many images. then i hit "back" to try to remedy it, and welp, it was all gone! oh man. i cna't handle it.

i'm sorry, but i can't do that again.

main points -

work was crazy busy today. i had no time to get online. tomorrow looks to be the same.

thank you all for your concern. the stuffy nose is getting better. i'm really upset about brian leetch being traded to canada. and about the rest of the team being gutted. i now have a new favorite team, the toronto maple leafs :rolleyes: . my dad even called me and had me order the nhl package on direct tv so we can watch the rest of the games. and i'm moving to toronto. ok, not really, but it crossed my mind :mad: . so mad at the rangers management.

run went well. and i'm taking it easy, i promise. going slower than usual and not pushing too hard. i'm not going to reach 30 points today, but i am going above my aps, so you will be happy to know that :)

cadbury support group - yes, we need one ::yes:: . hurting shins after jogging - i'd say this is normal, especially after your first time. i'd try stretching them out, and jogging more. that will actually help :). my cold has been scared by amanda :). and yes, i'm on my way for the scales. ai - i'm utterly disappointed in them so far. hopefully, they'll get better once down to 12, or even next week for wild card. last year's wild card roudn was when i fell in love with clay :lovestruc . goal number 5 - i think i've found a program that i like, so i'm making some progress :)

rest of my goals are taken care of for hte day. here's the details:

s: pria bar = 2
w: 4.25 mile run, 1 mile walk, crunches
s: hot cocoa w/water = 0
b: lc bagel + 1 tbsp pb + 1 tbsp sf preserves + 1 cup oj = 6
s: banana = 2
l: wheat wrap + 3 oz chicken + 1/2 cup cucumbers + lettuce + 1 tbsp ranch = 7.5
s: coffee + 1/4 cup skim + splenda = .5
d: big bowl of pb/banana oatmeal + 1 cup oj = 8
s: apple = 1

total: 27

having issues getting in enough fruits/veggies since they're no/low points and filling, i'm trying to use my points on higher things since i'm not too hungry. oh well, i get them the rest of the time.

ok, i'm going to try to get to some journals tonight, while i watch my new favorite hockey team. at least they're winning, unlike the rangers ever did :rolleyes: . and i'm copying this before i hit "post" just in case it disappears again :mad: .

here goes nothing... :)

Your post doesn't sound like your usual self. I am hoping it is because you had to retype all the same stuff. I know, it is VERY frustrating!!!:mad: And maybe it's a touch of disillusionment from the Rangers too, huh??!!
Seriously, I hope that is all it is. Work has been somewhat crazy for me too for the last couple of weeks. I am hoping to see it calm down before too long, but ya never know....:rolleyes:
