March Trip Thread

Just bought tickets and made FP. I saw they had extended MK from 9-9 to 9-11. I had actually been looking forward to the shorter hours - with the high cost of tickets (even at FL resident rates!), I feel we have to milk every hour out of the parks. It's going to be a long Saturday. :-):-):-)

We haven't really done much planning. Mostly plan on kicking it at the Fort this go around.

I've been doing little checks on the camper when it is warm and dry enough. Next weekend it's suppose to be in the 50's so I plan on hooking on and pulling it down the road a little bit just to check more things out. My dog and I will be checking in on March 10 and staying through April 2. A week with my son and his girl friend, then a week for just the two of us, the dw is flying in for the last week and the drive home. Looking forward to a warm and peaceful stay.

Just got an email that our Magic Bands have shipped. I usually decline them since we go so often and have annual passes, but I wanted to try the new style they have now. Also seen where there is a new food truck down near the movie/campfire area. They took out the Chuck Wagon so this replaces that plus adds a new option for take out. If what I read is still true, it is open every evening and for lunch on the weekends. Here are some photos that I got off another site.

Will be there March 26 - April 1st This will be the first time that I drove the RV all alone from Atlanta area. a lot nervous. Mainly of the toll booths, they look so narrow and I have a 34 ft class A.

Nothing to worry about, your class A is the same width in the front and back, all 34 feet of it. :drive:

For my CDL test the course was set 4 inches wider than the width of the bus. Had to do a straight line thru 4 times the length of the bus, at 35mph and then back thru the entire length.

Just a note to those that may have not seen my other post, but the check in time has been moved to 3pm. There is always a chance your site will be ready earlier, but just wanted to give you all a heads up.

We are heading to Silver Springs State Park in a few hours. Will be a nice weekend trip, the weather here in Central Florida is perfect right now, not too hot, not cold and low humidity.

Just made reservations for a trip March 1-3! This will be our maiden voyage in the new camper (moving up from popup to hybrid) and our first trip to the Fort. We only live about 90 minutes from Disney and have annual passes so we'll do some park time, but also get to explore the Fort before our family trip in September. We're on a popup site this trip since it's so short.

Congrats! Hopefully the weather plays nice for you, but this should be a great "shake down" trip with the new camper.

We just got back from Silver Springs State park. Campground is super nice, the sites are large and level. The restroom houses are very clean and modern. They have a Florida historical museum and "cracker" settlement on site. Great trails to hike and bike ride. I posted pics of our site on the Camping Community Board, but I have to share one from the glass bottom boat ride. The glass bottom boat rides are a must, the water is so clear, it's amazing. Now to start my Fort trip planning.

Looks great Terri. Isn't that up between Gainesville and Ocala? Bama Ed

Got my magic bands yesterday, not sure if I like the new style, they seem a little large for those of us that have small wrists. The middle part comes out, have to remove two tiny screws, so you can move it to a key chain or some other item that Disney sells to hold them.

With our 39 ft Wildcat, I would almost drive all the way back to Texas. Except when it got dark or like our last trip home in Jan 2016 raining very hard @ Baton Rouge & it was getting dark. I feel a lot more comfortable going straight also. I haven't pulled this 44 ft Toy hauler yet.

We have a weekend trip to Silver Springs State Park at the end of the month, then I can concentrate on our Fort trip. It's son's spring break from college. First year in many where his spring break doesn't coincide with Easter. Will miss spending Easter at th Fort, but it will be nice that our annual passes won't be blacked out.

I grew up going to silver spring state park (and Disney)
My parents bought our vacation home nearby.
I remember jumping off big rocks into the water ( not thinking about what lurked in those springs)
Wow. Brings back memories!!!!
Enjoy!

Two weeks :cool1: so I am getting things together. Made a trip to camping world for a couple things, restocked the toiletries, bug spray and some other odds and ends.
Still hoping my sister can snag a cancellation and join us. We have done this Spring Break trip with them the last two years. May have to make some changes in my agenda. Heard the new QS over at the Wilderness Lodge is worth a try, so may have to switch up some lunch or dinner plans.

Two week count down for US, just 4 days and two parks for a local spring break then heading to Royal Pacific for two days at universal. This if the first time our kids have been Tent Camping so it should be fun! Need to get the tent out this week and air it, make my "list" of things to do before and what to take.

Gotta say I am pretty excited.
