March No Buy..Rolling Into Spring!

Ladies (I think we are all ladies, right?) I was very bad today. I probably spent more today then I have in years in a single day. But I have a confession...I don't regret it. I will record tomorrow, but let me explain. My DD16 has been in a slightly goth/not feminine/not really caring about her appearance phase. Itg is over. In addition to that, she has always been a daddy's girl, not that there is anything wrong with that, but to the exclusion of me. She would rather he take her shopping and stuff. Today she wanted MOM!!! It was prom dress shopping, and we found one that is so feminine, so beautiful, she is just stunning in it and I couldn't believe my daughter wanted it. It was $200 :scared1: but I bought it for her. She also got some new clothes (she has lost about 20 pounds or so.) It was a great day but not one that I said no to anything. I thin we spent about $500 but that included some of the alcohol for DH's party and $65 in gad for my van. But spending an entire day with my DD was truly priceless. She told her about this boy she's been talking to. I knew some of it cause my DH told me, but she had not told me, she told him. We had dinner and laughed. It was a turning point for us I think so I don't care what it cost. But it was a lot! :rolleyes1

MickeyMom, what a great day. Definitely worth more than dollars!!!

We went to a bike race yesterday and met some new friends there. DH took care of dinner and all the drinks, but I did buy a beach ball and a couple toys for our friends son, who was bored. Amazing what a 99 cent beach ball will do to entertain a kid. :-)

:rolleyes1

This is so nice that she wanted to spend the day with you, and very very sweet. As a girl who rebelled against her mom all of my teenage years, I understand what you are talking about, and I remember too finally easing off on my mom and starting to get closer to her my last year of high school.

:cool1:Can't put a price tag on that! Spend away!!
I totally understand. Friday was my DD's Prom and she desided that she wanted her nails and hair done at a salon. I jumped at it. And gladly paid. Our original agreement was I bought the outfit and she had to buy anything else she wanted. She doesn't usually like that kind of stuff. Loves dresses and all that glam. But, hates her hair fussed with. So MickeyMomOfThree. I'm right there with ya.

Argh, I fell off the wagon with tracking again! Between the tire replacement $ and unexpectedly going out to lunch last Saturday...I am sure we're still under our grocery budget and will work it all out but I'm annoyed at myself for not logging things because it makes it that much harder!

Oh, well, I WILL do better in April!
