March 9, 2012 "Dream a Little Dream Team" 4 Night Cruise

we are doing back-to-back cruises on this one & the preceding 5 night cruise for a total of 9 glorious days!!! we will be celebrating my son's 6th birthday!!!

Welcome to the 'Dream a Little Dream' spring break cruise!
The 'meet' is a fun way to get to know people who we will be cruising with prior to the cruise. This is a more personal way of asking questions about the cruise, and getting both prepared and excited with other cruisers. I got involved with the DIS boards for my last DCL cruise and it made the 'waiting' so much more fun! Every meet group is different-- some are large (over a hundred people) and some are much smaller; but they are all full of a nice diverse mix of families, couples, and singles of all ages, all with an excitement to cruise Disney. Many groups will have a fish exchange (FE), which is voluntary, and involves exchanging small gifts with others from the meet group. I don't know how to attach a link from my iPad, but the general forum has info on FE's if you are interested in learning more.
Feel free to ask any questions, make any comments, or just give a "shout out" to the group. That's what we are here for!:thumbsup2

By the way, in only 189 days, we will all be "meeting" on the Dream!
 and next Friday is our 6 month milestone!

Thank you for the warm welcome! This is gonna be so much fun! CANNOT wait...I am seriously so excited I am dreaming about boats and mickey and etc...my kids are thrilled!!! They are 21, 21 and 17!!! The 2nd 21 yo is my sons GF and she literally cried when I told her we were reserved and booked!

Dream a little Dream..i love it!

Welcome A-board!! Glad to hear there will be at least one other 17 year old girl! My dd was beginning to think she was going to be the only one! She turns 17 a month afterwards!
We are super excited as well!

Terimac, I finally figured out how to change the thread title (had to choose "Advanced Editing" :)

Thanks for our new name!:goodvibes

So I got our post-cruise vacay booked at wdw, got the rental mini van booked, now if the airfares would drop to affordable rates...:surfweb:

What shore excursions is everyone planning to do? I want to take my son to swim with the dolphins! And I can't WAIT to see Atlantis!!

I booked Atlantis thru Comfort Suites, I was looking forward to it but there's been some negative comments about Nassau. I am not sharing them with the rest of the family, I don't want them all to not want to go!!

Did anyone notice the day we can make our reservations etc.... is Xmas day? Will someone be there, or would they get the holiday off?

We haven't booked any, yet, but am looking at taking the kids to the pirate museum. I've heard it's a 'must see' in Nassau. I've thought about Atlantis, but it is so pricey, that I may save our money for WDW after the cruise.

It's about time to start thinking about FEs...I haven't read through this thread in a while...how many are wanting to do it?

Someone will be there! And yes, final payment is due Christmas Day, and then we can book our excursions. :santa:

Not sure about the FE thing yet. I'm not the best at planning ahead.

Yes, I want to do FEs. I've already ordered mine :)

We are fortunate to be going on this cruise followed by the 5-night double dip. I will be traveling with my awesome brother (Joe) and one of my two daughters (Alyssa 12y.o.). My husband and oldest daughter are passing on this trip for some reason.

We will be new to the Disney Dream, but have cruised twice on the Wonder. First on a 3-night "try me" cruise and then again this past January on the Panama Canal cruise. That may explain why a 4-night cruise just isn't long enough. We are really looking forward to trying the new ship. I hope we like it as much as the Wonder. The ship was unable to dock at Castaway Cay during the Panama Canal trip, so we are really looking forward to that.

I talked my brother into flying in a couple days early. We will arrive late on Tuesday, staying at the Pop Century with the free dining offer. We are planning on going to DHS and Epcot. Then use DCL transfers from Pop Century.

I'm looking forward to trying some of the adult only areas and activities. I'm hoping DD can make a few friends and enjoy spending time at the Edge. Although I know tt won't be hard to enjoy ourselves on this trip.

Happy planning,

Diane

March 9th will be our 2nd cruise on the Disney Dream! We sailed last March with our 2 girls (7 and 5) and will be bringing our son (3) on his first cruise. To all who have not been on the Dream it is FANTASTIC! You will have a great time! Please ask any and all Dream questions you might have and I will try to answer them as best I can. :thumbsup2

We are getting close. About 13 days from double digits. I would like to start planning the FE's ASAP :)
