It is a way to exchange goodies and gifts with fellow cruisers. There is a link about them in the FAQ section. Unfortunatly you have missed the sign up for our cruise :(
When you walk around the ship you will see different "mailboxes" as my kids call them hanging from a big fish clip outside staterooms. Those are Fish Extenders.

So ready to get out of NY! I have a horrible head cold that has had me out of commission for 2 days now  , this better be the only sickness I get between now and March! Probably gonna start packing up some stuff soon-things I know we wont need between now and then.
We are SO ready for this vacation!

OH. Well now all that makes sense!! Thanks.....

Anyone else following the thread about the ship shaking? Should we/I be concerned? Any suggestions besides Bromine and SeaBands for motion sickness? This time in two weeks --Dinner at Palo.

I have been reading that too...I am not worried about myself getting seasick as much as I am the kids...what can you give a kid for it if it becomes an issue?

I hadn't read that - but I did find that Seabands can be used for kids and there is a childrens dramamine. I am assuming that they would have these for sale on the ship too - right??

Wht exactly are sea bands? I am not familiar with them

Seabands are wrist bands that are designed to help with seasickness. Some people swear by them, others not so much.

As far as the gathering at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge, will the 2:30 ship tour be done by then? This is our first DCL trip and were looking forward to the tour. On that note, is the tour pretty good????

Thanks!!!

On our last cruise, I gave my kids Bonine, every night before bed. Not a hint of queasiness, even thought the whole cruise was very rought. On the last night, though, I forgot about it... and we had a VERY rocky night- poof, two barfing kiddos. Oh man. I will never, never miss a dose of Bonine again for them! I think I gave my DS 8 half a pill? I asked the pharmacist at WalMart. I got it there really cheap.

Also- be sure to start the Bonine the day before you board. We have done this and never had a problem (up until I forgot to give the kids their pill!!), 2 cruises for the kids and 3 for us adults so far completed.

Where did you get informationon the ship tour? Do you have to sign up early for it? I would like to do that too. We are entering into this blind and a tour might behelpful.

I googled "old personal navigators" or found them on Disboards or Passporter (can't remember where) and everyone I saw mentioned a ship tour at 2:30. It was just one of those "meet at such-n-such location for a tour of the ship". Since we are newbies too, I thought it would be good!

Maybe we'll see you there!

11 more days!

Getting close....I am more than anxious. Have one little box to ship down-need to get that finished. Then I want to really get packing!

So how many bags do you all check now that most of the airlines charge (and have increased) their checked baggage fee. We are using bigger carry ons this year and then are going to try to get away with 2 checked pieces total. (family of 4)

We checked 3 bags last year but used back packs for carry on, this year bigger carry on = less checked, our hopes anyway :)

For seasoned fliers, Garment bags meet carry on restrictions right? I see some of the newer one with Carry on listed on the sale tag-ours is a few years older but looks the same size. Our goal....as many clothes in that bad boy as possible!

when my dad and I fly we each have one suitcare(bigger ones for close and a carry on, I usually take a big carry on and then a little purse. I make out pretty well with all of it:cool1:
