Can not wait to see the pictures... Talked to my folks out your way yesterday.. They said people were lining up for gas like it was Y2K. I told them what you said about running to get milk, eggs and TP... They all thought that was and said that the shelves in the grocery store looked as such.... I think it is funny because we get out our snow shoes in when let Lady Story tell it..... August.... See you asked for it Johnna.... You said you needed something to remind you it was CHristmas and to put you in the mood... So 1 1/2 foot of the White stuff.... There you go.... hibernation... Pictures soon...

Since you are all my FB friends (or you don't have your own page but I am friends with your teenager!), check out the pix I posted there. It's been ridiculous.

No school or work tomorrow. Thinking of more things to do except bake cookies/treats, and watch movies...and play on FB of course!!

I am happy to say the Santa made it to Western Nebraska HO HO HO!!!! As did the WIND!!!!! It is a Cold windy day here without much snow.

Merry Post-Christmas to everyone!

The Storys are stuck in Hamburg, PA due to a broken down SUV. We were headed from NJ to our WV oasis, when the car decided to make noise and not work. And of course, being Sunday, nothing is open, so we won't know our fate until tomorrow.

We had a guardian angel - a marine named Dustin who is on leave from his second tour in Afganistan stopped to help when we were pulled over on the side of the highway. He's a jeep mechanic in the Marines; and has been shot twice in Iraq, and stabbed twice. He is home with his wife and two kids - a 4 yr old girl, and 1 yr old boy - until February 22 when he will go back to Afganistan for another 8 month tour. He was so nice, and so helpful - and he always answered my questions with "Ma'am" - definitely not something I'm used to.

First he tried to see if it was fixable right there (it wasn't!), then recommended we take it to a local truck stop and drove me and the kids to the truck stop so we didn't have to ride in the tow truck or in the SUV on the flatbed; then he tried to find his mentor mechanic to fix it for us (who couldn't come out today), then told us where the Ford dealership is and recommended a tow to there. And after all that, he later checked up on us to see how it was going. Things certainly would not have gone as well as they did today without his help. It may only have been one hour of his time, but it meant a lot to me and to Mark too.

So we are spending an unexpected evening in Hamburg, PA. Hopefully the weather will cooperate tomorrow and we can take a walk to the Cracker Barrel down the road a bit. Or perhaps the car can be done by tomorrow and we will head home. Or...the car will take a few days to fix and Mark will stay here while the kids, Prince, and I rent a car to drive home. Who knows? We will find out tomorrow... I'll keep you posted (probably via Facebook!)

Dh talked to a co-worker and he said DH should be have time off? I did not ask him to talk to a co-worker but his BOSS. Men, does he not realize what is a stake here.

Talk to the DD, she's the one that really runs this family. She is all for it! Was there any question, I did raise her.

When she had to decide between this and GA, she had to confirm that KJ was going.


Can I be a good girl and cut my shopping back, can I be a good girl and save??

Oh I am so EXCITED! Al, Wanda and Lauren are joining us and so is a new friend (for us anyway) Micday!

I am happy to report that the weathermen were wrong and we only got about an inch of snow on Christmas but we got another inch last night.

Johnna--been keeping up with your exploits on FB. I'm glad things are looking up!

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year and a healthy and prosperous 2010 (so we can all pay for our cruise--LOL).

I will indeed let him know that his "Beloved Huskers" impressed you LOL!
He too was very pleased with them. Thank goodness they played so well..we had over 20 people here watching it, and trust me, Ron makes a MUCH better host if the game is going in the right direction!!! It was a FUN night!!

Hope all had a GREAT New Year and was able to bring "2010" in a FUN way
Ron has been watching Football for what seems to be ALL year LOL !!!
All I have to say to that is UGGGGHHH

The girls are facing the reality that Christmas break is coming to an end, as they go back to school on Monday...and I am facing the reality that ALL these Christmas decorations need to be coming down SOON and all these holiday pounds need to be coming off as well

Our wish to ALL our cruise friends/family is for a "Healthy and Happy New Year"

AND....to you Russ "Happy Birthday" enjoy your cake, I am sure it will be Yummy!!!!

One final note: Whoo Hoo!!!!!! on Micday and her family joining us!!!! As well as the 3Charby's.
We are looking forward to cruising with all our past fellow cruisers as well as meeting some new Dis Cruisers!!!
Don't be afraid to join us...we are a fun and welcoming group, a bit crazy at times, but that is what makes us fun LOL!!!!!

On our first cruise we did not know anyone, but had gotten to know some through the Dis Board....
Our dis board group picked a time and location on board (the ship) to hold a Dis Meet and now those that were once strangers..we now call our friends

MicDay.... Wonderful to talk to you too. If I tell DS about the Potter, we may not be able to get you guys on the ship.... We will dress for Pirate night and you will have Potter night. He knows the series as well as you! Go to work and earn those Dead Guys on the paper... You know prior to each cruise, I spend a lot of time yelling "Push" "Push". When it is finally done, I go $chaching chaching$ more Bushwackers for BJ!

Hey everyone...... What do you think of Pirate night becoming Toy Night in line with the 3rd Toy Story... We could all dress like dolls, cowboys, Village People or Potato Heads. Oh I guess if we did this, it would not go along with the Tink dinner dress code.

I am looking "FWD" to the new shows and looking "FWD" to cruising with all of you.

Now if we by chance have any new people reading our thread, please feel free to jump right in and introduce yourself... We are a warm bunch and love to and with Everyone... Some of us like to (WONDER who that could be ) But we ALL like to & with new friends.... We all started out as strangers as my one friend has said and now look at our family.
